Hello, I have a question about 3D scanning. If there is a hole in a curvy area, how can you fill it up? Sometimes when you fill it, the shape does not turn out as it's supposed to and creates bumps.

Great question. The approach to filling holes in a 3D scan can vary depending on the software you're using, as each one comes with its own set of algorithms and mesh editing tools. Sometimes, the best solution is to reverse engineer the scan into a CAD model. This process can often bypass the issue of shape distortion and help you achieve a more accurate and smooth result. Remember, the key is to choose the right tool for the job and leverage its strengths to maintain the integrity of your design. To this end, we can help, just give us a shout! - DD

Hey guys, so i have an issue when i combine the 2 scans together. After it processes both the scans and joins them, i end up with a blotchy giraffe like pattern all over my scan. Both sides of my scans were very clean to start with before i merge them, but everytime i merge i end up with a blotchy unuseable scan. Have you ever had this issue?.

Good question! Here’s feedback from our engineering team:
      1. Did you use targets or geometry to do the alignment?
      2. What kind of object was being scanned? Is there a chance that it could have deformed, even slightly, between the scans?
It could be a few different things causing what you are describing, but it sounds like either a bad alignment or perhaps it’s the result of scanning a part that deformed between the two scans.
If the thing you’re scanning changes shape between scan 1 and scan 2, there’s no hope of getting them to align properly since they straight up aren’t the same shape anymore, and that will cause a scabby looking, doubling effect like you’ve described…
Look forward to your response! Thanks for the comment.

It is very good, I have the same scanner and for that price I am highly impressed. Softwate is also easy to use and user friendly

We've been very impressed from our testing. It's fast, accurate, and the software is very easy to use. Let us know if you have any additional questions.

@@DigitizeDesigns how does it compare to creaform's scanner in terms of resolution and software? I am very concern about the development of software, since well harwarewise, u can tear down and parts are available as long as u have money

@@kylisation the resolution and software is great. We were very impressed and surprised when we begin our evaluation prior to officially picking up the Scantech line, but we've been blown away by it's capabilities (both software and hardware wise). In fact, the resolution is higher than the Creaform scanners, and it has built in photogrammetry capabilities to achieve much higher accuracies across large distances when compared to Creaform. If you'd like to check it out, we'd be happy to do a demo for you. Just let us know!

@@kylisation A really good product, but the new Ksan Magic 1 and 2 models should generally be more cool. In software, it is slightly inferior to creaform, but many things in software are free
