*Who is eagerly awaiting the Pixel 6? (me..!)*
Me xd
Yes
I think
Same but concerned about its availability 😅.
Hopefully it matches the hype
These days I’ve noticed most tech reviewers obsess over 90 hertz or 120 hertz display or the best 4k video quality. And it seems like they consider a phone trash if it doesn’t have those features. To me, performance, battery life, display brightness/quality, speaker and call quality, ip rating are way more important. Besides, 60 hertz on a stock android Pixel device isn’t a bad thing. I’ve used 90 hertz displays and while they are nice to have, most consumers wouldn’t even notice or care. Especially for a better price. I do hope the overheating doesn’t happen on anything but the video recording as I am not a video person. I will say overall it looks like an excellent value device. I got mine today on Black Friday for $399.
60hz only looks weird if you've recently been looking at higher hz. If you stick to 60hz on your phone, it doesn't look jittery.
I say this while using a computer with a 120hz monitor and a 60hz monitor sitting side-by-side. Yes, it is obvious to me that the 120 is smoother and the 60hz is more jittery. But when I'm out using my 60hz phone, it doesn't feel jittery because my brain adapts fairly well.
And honestly, if I'm doing intensive work on my 60hz monitor, the jitteriness disappears there too because our brains focus on what's important and blocks out the irrelevant peripheral stuff.
I used the pixel 5a briefly when I jumped on Google Fi. I was going to do their 2 year pixel program (later opted out). What I found was the software perfection of google built into a respectable package. For the price of this phone I found myself jaded and disenfranchised by the current epidemic of the flagship phone push. Midrange phones like the pixel continue to prove that you don't need to spend a lot of money for a good phone experience. I found myself questioning "what makes a good phone?" And, I discovered through the 5a that great software and a great camera at an affordable price range makes the best phone, worth investing in.
Thanks for writing out your opinion, it helped me make the decision to buy this phone
I bought a 4a last year. It's been a great phone. Pixels are fun if you're geeky from a software standpoint. I'm already running Android 12. The 5a costs $100 more than the 4a but you get a bigger display, battery, 2 cameras on the back vs. 1 on the 4a, and 5G if that''s important to you. So not a bad deal imo.
How's the speed of the phone? Cuz considering it got a mediocre chip set
@@ccroy2001 thanks Christine for the reply :). yeah but at 350$ there's tons of other phones with a way better chipset here available in India. But I wasn't referring to the cost of the phone rather the components of the phone. The components maketh the phone at the end of the day. I'm considering the 5a. Waiting for it to drop here. Since it's a Google phone I can trust it to have a decent life of 3 years life and not slowing the phone down in anyway.
@@coolkenny13 Honestly it's fine. I don't notice the phone is slow. I don't game though.
@@ccroy2001 $350? I thought it was $449.
@@imranhasan8546 Google has a promo going $100 off, 'til mid-November
Thank you for these reviews. I appreciate the info! Strategically waiting until Black Friday 2021 to buy the Samsung A52 (any version of it) didn't pay off bc no one discounted it. Major bummer. Now I'm left scrambling to find a good mid-ranger on sale.
I ordered mine today and this video helped me make my decision. Thanks for making it
Thank you for this video. I have ordered.one, it makes sense, It's more than I have paid for a phone, but I'm really looking forward to it.
I just picked up a 4a 5G and it updated to Android 14 overnight last night. I absolutely love the software support or the price. I picked it unlocked on Swappa for 158.
Honestly, after reading/ watching the reviews about all the issues with the 6 and 6 Pro, I decided to go with the 5a. I hope Google gets their act together and irons out these issues with the 7. Meanwhile, I think the 5a is going to serve me very well for the next couple years!
Anyway, nice overview ya did there. :-)
Does it get hot like I been reading about
@@donaldfincham1620 .. YES. And a lot more so lately. My next phone is going to be an iPhone.
I had the 4XL and it took better photos than the iPhone 12 Pro Max I have now! That's why I'm buying the Google Pixel 6 Pro this month, and I can't wait, I think it's going to be the phone of the year! Thank you from the UK 🙂 🇬🇧
I had the small pixel 4 and it was amazing all the way around camera build quality and performance I lost it on the subway and was gonna get the 6 but with their new chip I'm gonna wait a couple years and let them work on the new chip before I get one so I think I'm definitely getting this phone love the pixel line
Ppl really seem to hate that hour and a half charging time huh? If you can't put your phone down for that long then it's probably time for an intervention
Got it btw. Love this phone so much
Charge at night only. In day time you don't need it
I have decided on buying this phone! I've never bought a Google smartphone in my entire life and just the fact that Google apps are ALREADY DOWNLOADED on the phone makes me happy. I hate downloading a bunch of Google apps on my Samsung smartphone it's quite the hassle really. But this phone is affordable for me atm so I am for sure buying it. I however will say that it is quite annoying that Google is not selling their phones in actual stores. I also hope the overheating thing isn't a major issue but it shouldn't be.
Have enjoyed this device since getting it a month ago..do wish it charged faster and had facial recognition..but runs well and battery is insane. Oh and portraits are stunning
Do u have any heating up issues
Love the wallpaper, where did you get it?
that problem used to happen in my pixel 3a. At least it only happened to you when recording only in 4k, for me just recording after maybe 4 min, same warning.
I just bought a pixel 5a refurb off Ebay for $139 and I was happy to get it!
Finally settled on getting this after breaking my S9 plus screen. Nice balanced phone.
Hey how is ur experience with this phone after s9plus as even im planning to get this after s9plus.kindly b honest with ur feedback
honestly im gonna replace my current phone in the next series of phones or the one after it. looking at the pixels, sonys, samsungs depending on what these three release. I'm probably gonna grab a second hand flagship like pixel 6 but as for budget options. definitely the a lineup and samsungs a5X lineup looks gorgeous. realmes and xiaomis lineups do seem bang for buck ngl but the designs on these are just flamboyant and I can't live with that. every other company is on the sus list oneplus, apple, etc completely lost my interest.
Just ordered the 5a 5g, black friday sale, $399.
Great review. I don't mind 60hz as my LG G7 has it and it's fast enough for me. Cameras, oh yeah. I don't use video so don't care. Battery life is very good.
Pixel a series really feels like LG. My 4a is just about the same in size and layout as my LG G6.
long live LG :(
I'll buy one for black Friday, thanks for the review.
$399 on Black Friday
It's ok to switch from iphone 11 pro to this?
I had the six and sent it back I much prefer the 5a
I have this phone and the over heating issues are horrible its worse when video calling gets hot really fast
If I buy a new pixel 5A 5g phone from Google does anyone know if it'll work on Verizon?
I recently switched to the iPhone 11 from android I’m really missing the customization from the Android side of things I traded my Pixel 4a for the iPhone
No matter how far you've gone on a wrong road, turn back.
6 months late just jailbreak it. Got a 5a 5g today and might swap it for a X tomorrow but idk yet. Loved the Nexus line so I should love the pixel..
Why would Google release a product not quite ready for the market? Overheating after a couple of minutes? Come on Google, you can do better than this!
I'm considering this phone currently and have been watching videos and comparing. I currently have a 3a so we will see.
I ordered the 5a two nights ago to replace my 3aXL. I have no need to record 4K video, so I'm not too worried about the overheating.
For me it's about the storage upgrade, lack of bloatware, the Google camera solution, and the timely updates. And a couple extra GB of RAM can't hurt.
Go for it. I did and never record video so that does not matter to me with the overheating issues.
@@umaiar awesome! In agreement!
@@jeffj318 thanks! I don't think I will ever use that feature!

Upgrading from a Pixel 3 I'm not sure if this is worth it or I wait for the Pixel 6 which could be twice the price ...unsure

Love to this thrown up against the A 52 5g
The A52 5g would kick its ass aside from the camera. I can't stand stock android.
@@afanasibushmanov7463 i would but pixel 5a 5g is much better stock android than previous stock android phones. i know someone who has one. i know someone who had the a52 5g and they wish they gotten the pixel.
@@IDrawToothpicks stock android should basically be the same on all pixel devices. You either like it or dislike it. It comes down to personal preference. I personally love One UI and I think it's the best version of Android OS. Other people hate it.
I keep seeing ads , $15 a month.
Does this include service? Talk text data??
Some videos make it seem like there is no service provider bill such as Verizon or att or T-Mobile or whoever.
If I order the $15 will I need to buy service separately???
I’m confused because some make it seem like they paid $15 and they get unlimited everything and 5g and it’s all included in the $15 a month.
Sorry if this is a dumb question but I’m not real wise to these things.
Thankyou for understanding and thankyou for the video, it was great and my only problem is just my lack of understanding the monthly price with talk text and data.
I don’t have WiFi where I live and am not always around WiFi here at work, spotty to say the least.
Well sorry to talk your ear off but I hope you can make sense of My jabbering
I am assuming you are talking about the mint mobile ad that I've seen over the past couple of months. They use towers from another provider to offer their service. I have no idea how much data you get per month with mint or if they provide different packages - unlimited high speed for $15/month doesn't seem realistic. I used a similar service in the past which had 8GB data per month on ATT towers, I believe it was about $25 per month with unlimited talk and text. I had no complaints - but you have to read up on whose towers they use to provide service, then look into their coverage to see if it will work for you. I paid for one year upfront but the renewal was a bit higher so I opted for another service without any data.
Plus they're running a $100 off the phone special til mid-Nov., with qualifiers.
what a nice device but I think I ll go for zte axon 30 5g coz is bigger
How is the 5G on it ????
battery life is better than Samsung A52s ?
Just got one and will be returning it. Touchscreen very glitchy.
how much in America
Finally a review of this phone.👍 I excited for pixel 6,but it doesn't available in my region. Even if it does, it will be expensive due to tax. Maybe i buy a second hand...😌
I think buying it secondhand is the way to go! Interested to see what the 6 is all about too 👀
I think I do not buy another phone from Google.
I bought 4a 5g and two things i must say about it.
Fist of all I'm using it for about 4 months now and main camera is full of dust from the inside.
Second, the loudspeaker quality and loudness is in my opinion very miserable.
Because of this two things l am looking to buy something else...
That's odd....
Very nice video man keep going
Thanks so much! ✌️

Hi Teach daily
Is it worth to buy now.?
Overall the pixel 5a 5g is best but the overheat sucks
Yep. I do want to make sure it is right on the millimetre, but the next phone I will save up for will be a *higher* end dual camera setup. Who needs more than three anyway?
Yeah, tbh most of the extra cameras (macro, depth sensor) are just not necessary on other phones
I've got 4a (5G) "close enough"
Is a pixel 4xl owner. I whould like say that the pixel software is amazing for a few reasons. Astrophotography , clean android and updates before any android phones. Can't wait to see how the pixel 6 does by the way.

Shame on Google for not selling it in Europe !!!
Even better than i12
Google would not have had much trouble putting 90hz and a fast charge of at least 30 to justify its price.
It would probably be like around $700 if they put a 90hz refresh rate and a 30w charger would probably overheat the phone if charged for too long
Doesn’t the Pixel 5a 5g have 5000 mah battery? believe the ordinary 5a has the 4600mah battery.
Doesn’t it have a 90 refresh rate ?
Nope
This phone should not even of happened! Same camera since the pixel 2!
Mine just died. "No Service". I'll not buy another Pixel.

I am from Taiwan, how do I buy it?
Are you able to get it directly from the Google online store?
How does it overheat in 1-2 mins? Sounds like a false alarm sort of bug. At least Google is looking into it. This looks like a very solid device. Dark green! 👍
Yeah, that’s what I’m thinking - like a software glitch, something preemptive. The phone isn’t any warmer to the touch than an iPhone or S20 FE, and it’s strange that it’s specifically camera related too - I can play any game for hours without issue
It is not a false alarm bug. I have the Pixel 4a 5G and it overheats when used for navigation and will stop charging. I checked it out and it was burning hot. I was using LTE, GPS and about 80% brightness and it was clear that there is a limitation to the chip. I could not in good faith recommend this phone if you are doing anymore than basic tasks as overheating is never good for the longevity of a device.
@@andyH_England I have same phone but never any overheating issues. Maybe you got a bad one as that does seem dire. I'd try to exchange it if I had that issue.
Should I get this or the S20 FE 5G??
….or wait for the S21 FE… 👋
@@TechDaily That might be a good choice. 😃
If Google fixes that overheating issue, then I'll buy the darn thing
Yeah, I think that’s what keeping some people away unfortunately.
They will fix it. Don't shoot 4k 60 and you will be fine
1080p video recording isn't good enough for a phone with a 1080p screen? Or even 4K 30? Seems like a very specific issue to stop people from buying.
This is so cool

15 hours of screen on time? Negative, not even close to possible with any phone available. Do not spread complete BS info.
7-8 hours of screen on time is barely achievable on the most advanced devices with the largest capacity batteries, and even those come with huge caveats and constraints involved including using little to no network options, lowest screen brightness options, etc.

Hi
Hey hey! 👋
more like tech yearly.. cuz i saw this a year later, haaha..
I disagree with this being what Google does well as sales have taken a big downturn after the first "A" series suggesting that the reality did not live up to the hype. The fact Google has ditched the Pixel 5a, this is really a Pixel 4a 5G in disguise, and is now all-in on the Pixel 6 probably means that Google has also reached that conclusion? I think if you live outside the uncompetitive US market you will understand more why the A series has no hope of surviving, that mid-range market is full of far better spec phones at lower prices, something the insular US market is unaware of. Google cannot compete on that playing field outside #teamPixel so it is now trying for a flagship phone (again).
Having the Pixel 4a 5G I can confirm that is prone to overheating and has yet to be fixed so I assume it is the SD765G inefficiency under stress. I would not buy expecting the thermal issues to be fixed, you get what you pay for and the SD765G is now third-tier in late 2021. I think the Pixel 5a is a lazy update and I get why Google only launched in their two biggest fandom markets. In the UK it would be hopelessly overpriced for neutral consumers. Anyway, the Pixel 6 is what will matter to Google's long game and hopefully, it pushes tech rather than the A-line, which was just another mid-range in a sea of better androids?
Too much text bruv
Well the US is a pretty big market if you haven't noticed.
