Need an update how did you set it up

  • @brandonconnelly6798

Literally getting this and adding something to make the sound echo more around it just to piss the neighbors off also cutting a small hole in the hose to make it go off every so often

Does it wire to a 3 prong 220 outlet, or hard wired to the switch? I'm waiting for ours to arrive and am trying to plan.

    • @WorkshopAddict
      @WorkshopAddict  5 років тому

You need to supply the cord and plug and wire it into the switch box.. 3 wire 220

    • @e_shoemaker

      Thank you for the reply.
I have 10/3 Romex that I was going to run from my sub panel directly to the switch. (Dual pole 220 beaker) Is that not the way?
Are you saying wiring 10/3 to a 3 pronged outlet and then I need to buy an additional plug that goes to the switch? I’m sorry for the extra questions, but I’ve heard different approaches. This is the exact unit that will be delivered soon. If there’s an extra plug involved, can you paste a link? You can also email me. eric@ericshoemaker.com. Thank you for the support!

@@e_shoemaker Direct wire to your breaker is the best. I am not an electrician, but I wired mine up to a plug because we have 220 plugs all over the shop. It gave me options. I believe you are on the right path. They do not leave you much room for wires in the box. Make your connections small and neat. Buy the smallest wire nuts for the wire.

Thanks. I’ve researched this about as much as I can take. I’ve even read it should have its own junction cutoff switch in line of the panel and the unit; seems overkill. So I’ll try 10/3 Romex direct from the sub panel to the unit.
Last question. From my reading, there is no space for a neutral wire; only two hots and a ground?

@@e_shoemaker correct. Mine is run on 8/2 I believe. 2 hots and a ground.

How long does it take to fill the tank from 0 PSI?

    • @WorkshopAddict

A few minutes. Never timed it as this compressor is meant to stay in use.

I bought this exact same compressor and my recovery time is just over 1 min. About double of this one , kinda disappointing

We had the pressure switch go after a year and a half. Dewalt covered it under warranty. That is it. It runs every day in our shop.

Tobias Mixer It is not the quietest unit, but for the money, it works well. What parts are missing? We found it to have all the normal parts. :)

@@rdtaguestudios I second that, but there is a difference, the one from Rural King does not have that top panel with the quick disconnects and the regulator. Not a problem for me as I wouldn't use those, mine is hard piped in to the 3/4" outlet.
