Least broken Great War Redux game
Played as Japan, went alt hist and joined central powers. Germany steamrolled france and there was nothing protecting the asian colonies(biggest army was india 14-15 divisions) so i felt disappointed that i built up all this for nothing then after france fell scripted peace deal happened and i got nothing, zilch, nada for my hard work

forget fascism, this peace deal sucked so much that they will prob outright make a new tno ideology
Carries the whole war effort, gets Thessaloniki stolen and is cucked out of Constantinople by Britain

This video showed a VERY BIG flaw of The Great War Redux: you are "punished" sometimes if you don't follow what happened historically (unless if you play a major). Let's see what went wrong with this gameplay:
- The reason the Ottomans didn't sue for peace like the others is simple: they were not in a faction and you aren't supposed to win the Second Balkan War. You saw it, you captured Constantinople and appearently it wasn't enough for them to ask for peace, which is totally bullshit. Hell, even in Kaiserreich you get an event for making peace with the Ottoman Empire after taking their capital. So essentially you are stuck in a war with a nation that, even with infinite problems, is big, has loads of divisions and can join the Central Powers like if nothing happened.
- With no choice, you joined the Entente and with that, other problems happened. The game completely ignored the fact you defeated the Balkan nations and let France take Thessaloniki. Greece lost territory, but the game still considered that city part for the nation (because that's what was SUPPOSED to happen) so that happened anyway. Also, Italy did occupy that Albanian port, don't really know why, I guess it has to do with Austria-Hungary.
So, in conclusion, what's the point of trying to form Byzantium? The game doesn't offer war goals to annex the nations, you get territory stolen form others because whatever and there's simply no way to form it without cheating. All because you didn't lose the war you were supposed to. What a shame.
well I did have a look after this into the ottomans decision and they can surrender when you capture all their Balkan holdings however the AI is not taking them for whatever reason. Also I think what they want you to do is join the Central Powers attack ottomans and occupy all the land you need so you can click the decision to get cores with which you can get the land after the war. This sucks and is bad honestly. Also I originaly wanted to capitulate everyone before serbia to get a normal peace deal to annex them but I can‘t capitulate greece cause crete gives them 15 vc and my navy is trapped in the black sea. I hope that this content gets overhauled honestly.

Bruh you lost more land than you gained. If only the Great War Redux was more balanced or actually properly updated to the new version.
I tried to do similar path, here's how it went:
1st balkan war (1912) - easy, just take Constantinopole (i usually do a straight-away naval landing on tiles behind the city so that turks can't reinforce shit).
2nd balkan war (1913) - hold all lines until Romania and Ottomans declare war, push out Ottomans from balkans - they usually sign a white peace.
INSANELY IMPORTANT: while controlling Constantinopole, you'd get around a day before a peace with Ottomans fire. Use that time to cross the straits to have some ships in the Aegean sea. (it's also crucial that after 1st balkan war, you do focus Mediterrean sea access, or build a port anywhere in there)
Now once Ottomans are out, and since Romania is not a major, all that is left is Greece and Serbia, which isn't that difficult, but requires some micro. A regular peace deal should trigger, allowing you to annex all. If you don't finish this one before WW1, then it's best to restart.
3rd war: Bulgarian-Ottoman war (1914) - after you are done with 2nd balkan war, only then do the focus to reclaim Constantinopole. The ottomans during this war will not have any decision.
It's very hard to push across straits, so I tried naval landings in several locations - Jerusalem and Adana worked best. Try to open as many fronts as possible, however, you only have one shot at a naval landing (since after that you won't have any naval supremacy). Capitulate Ottomans, take all in the peace deal, and restore Byzantine Empire. After that, build up your army a little bit, and you are good to go to determine the outcome of the war for either side.
From 12 playthroughs, I managed to win the third war vs. Ottomans twice, but it is doable.

Ahistorical Bulgaria is so broken 💔 I reported all the bugs you encountered months ago and yet they are not fixed. That's why I won't play this mod ever again. It's a pity, cuz ww1 scenario is solid idea, but the mod is buggy af and no maintenance is performed...
Oh, maintenance is performed alright. Of course, by ‘maintenance’ I mean ‘mod developers find every single way you can break the historical mold with nations that are supposed to be weak and block said ways so you’re forced to lose’ but y’know, SO much more important than fixing actually broken stuff, I guess! Oh well, their mod, their rules, but it’s a real shame those who know how to code are abusing power instead of actually trying to make something truly enjoyable.
you should play with the state transfer tool or use console commands once you are locked out of content
I play on Iron Man so console commands wont work and I don’t know when it happened but state transfer tool doesn‘t work for me in the mod anymore
Here's a tip for the second balkan war if you decide to try again: just ignore Romania and make a breakthrough in Serbia. You can then snake VPs in Serbia and Greece which causes the whole faction to capitulate and makes it possible to form Byzantium by 1915.
10:25 that's because you're in the Entente, so members get the leader's (democratic) war goal rules
