I have binge watched all your videos and now I’m on 2nd re runs. Love everything about them. One request please show Mrs Grand Adventure-once in a while. I bet she is a sweet sweet heart.
She is!! I'd love to have her more involved in the channel, but she's painfully camera shy. If you've got a way to trick her into appearing on camera more often, I'm all ears. ;) Love that you're binging the vids -- thank you so much!! We'll be back on the road very soon, now that both winter and ski season are winding down here.
Well, Just come back to Washington, and our beaches. Someday, I'd like to meet someone like you on the Beach. Sure, foggy, cold, and raining, but who cares. It's the encounter that would matter.
It was indeed, Angela. I was outside the truck shooting video as I waited for the ferry, and Frosty was there with two others, all clearly geared up for an extended bike tour. After about one minute of talking with the guy I realized my good fortune and asked to let the camera roll.
Huge yay! You found our backyard! We're about 45 minutes from PT Townsend. Think you'll ever come back? We'd love meet up (and teach you how to pronounce towns like Kalaloch.. 'Klaylock'.. Sequim.. Skwim..) it's all good! There is absolutely Nothing like the smell of Cedar trees in the summer heat. Combined With the moisture in the Rainforest it's near intoxicating! Thank you for showing this area so well.. we'll bring the big kites to fly on the beach!! ❤️❤️
We need that local pronunciation help! LOL! Thanks, Candie -- we loved the area and we'll definitely be back someday. And you're on for flying those kites.
It's pronounced "skwim" ... not see-quim. The local folks will always be willing to help you with pronunciation. And there are tons of boondocking campsites in Washington, please don't denigrate what you haven't researched. You just had free camping with free electricity ... why are you saying Washington doesn't have that? Ha! :-) and yes you certainly did mis-name and mispronounce S'Kallam nation. Learn! It's part of traveling, yes? I'ts not Juan de "fooooca" ... it's "fyu-ca". I love your video production ... really so professionally done. Very impressive. Rialto Beach and La Push are stunning and so seldom included in travel videos. Thank you for covering them so nicely in the video and with beautiful music. Really nice info about the National Park on the peninsula. And great video! :-) Thank you!

Glad you got to enjoy our state. We are in the process of selling our house and hitting the road full-time now that my wife has retired! Thanks for your great podcast!
This was a great video. My Uncle lived up there and invited me to come up and check out this beautiful State. I was just out of High School then and now wish I had taken him up on the offer. He lived a full life, growing up in Nebraska, serving in the Navy during WWII was at Pearl Harbor when attacked and went on to retire after over twenty years. Later became a longshoreman made a fortune and owned a couple of charter boats plus a bar. He talked about the outdoors all the time up there. If he had a video like yours I would be living there. Your videos are outstanding. I bet it is not easy to only put so much into your video on what you see. Good job. Keep them coming.
You're very kind, Scott! And what a great story about your uncle. Sounds like he was a special person. And he may be gone now, but it's never too late to take him up on his offer and go visit.
I know! I havent been back to these stomping grounds in years! Summer only though.. and when I say Summer, I mean mud July into August. Get out before the rain sets in
Hi Mark. Enjoyed Frosty what Character! Cool Guy. Wow free parking and electrical service at a Casino. South Beach looked really lovely. Thanks Phil & Juliet
Chock full of great scenery and info, lest we forget Frosty ;an enigma and someone who is living the life of ten ppl an amazing person. Wonder where he is now. Thanks Marc
Thanks for sharing. This park has been on our bucket list for years. We'll get there, just exploring everything along the way from upstate NY. Safe travels!
Oh do! We live here and camp somewhere on the coast there all the time! We'll give you pronounciation lessons if you need them so you'll fit in like a local.
Just found your videos as I was looking for info about camping in Washington. I really love the information you give about campgrounds, dispersed camping, as well as the sites to see along the way. I plan to binge watch all your episodes. Thanks for making them.
Enjoyed the interview with frosty, he was great and so much information will go and look at the link 30 amp and 20 amp hook up wooooooo what !!!! That’s mega Great film as always
Gavin Streetie thank you Gavin! What do caravans in the UK use for electrical service? Over here, smaller trailers (with 1 A/C unit like mine) use 30A service, while larger RVs often with 2 A/C units use 50A service.
Grand Adventure well in my experience which is not great, but the amps are considerably lower than US , 10 - 16 amp is the norm I think and in France it drops again but most places I think it’s fair to say nothing like the power you have in the US thank Gavin
It looked like you had a nice break in the weather once you got over to the peninsula. I thought you might head up to Hurricane Ridge from Port Angeles, which takes you way up to a great high lookout to see the Olympic Mountains up close and personal. You probably would not have wanted to go with a trailer however. I remember the last time I went out to Cape Flattery, it seemed to take forever to get there. There is an Indian tribe that lives in Neah Bay that is allowed to go out and kill one whale per year. Sixteen years living in Washington and I never went into the Hoh Rainforest! Enjoyed Frosty; makes me think I’m a couch potato compared to him. Envious of all his travels by bike!
Frosty was a character, that's for sure. We thought about Hurricane Ridge, but as you surmised we were reluctant to bring the trailer up there, or take the time to drop it. Indeed, we were very, very fortunate with the weather while on the Olympic Peninsula.
Nice video. Looking for places to camp this next spring & summer. I noticed you didn't use a surge protector on full power. I use one with a small cable lock so it doesn't walk off. I have a small popup Aliner Camper.

Of course, Doug! We use both The Dyrt and Campendium almost exclusively, supplemented by other sites only occasionally when I'm looking for answers those two don't address. Campendium, unfortunately, has been sold to the RV Life group and I'm seeing signs that they don't plan to keep it going. That, in my opinion, would be a crying shame.
I’m a new subscriber, doing some catching up. I really like the style of your videos. Good mix of info, then lots of stunning scenery. With relaxing music. 😀👍🏻
Never saw any, but yes there are Black bears in the area. They're typically not aggressive unless you invade their space, so I typically don't carry bear spray unless I'm in heavy grizzly country. In fact I don't even own a can.
