Cant describe how much I appreciate each video you create.
I appreciate that! Thank you so much. ❤
I think there is no one creator left that has ability to think that this type of content we can create or how widespread thinking have these fishes 😮🤯
I literally bought a veiltail bristlenose pleco a month ago due to your videos on behavior on ghis particular fish 😊😅
Mine also enjoy the strong current created by internal filter.
In day the corydoras rush to play with flow a d in night pleco love to play with it 😂
He does this thing in night always trying hard to maintain its race to the current and especially its veiltail so the fins looks gorgeous 😍
Btq huge ❤ from india 🇮🇳 sir
Thank you so much for your kind words, and I am happy that my videos have inspired you to keep these fish. I am happy that my brothers in India are following my channel. ❤❤❤
@@TheDave333 sorry for my keyboard mistakes
@@TheDave333 I shared your video to my 14 fish keeping friends they also love it cause of your dedication hardwork towards this beautiful hobby 💙
Thank you so much for sharing the video with your friends. I appreciate the love. ❤❤❤
I'm glad you thought it was funny when I said you should feed the outdoor crickets to the Butterfly Fish Armada. 😁
You're a funny guy always telling jokes. I love it. 😁
You never fail to amaze us with fascinating info and amazing filming of our soggy little friends. Great stuff! Thank you!
You're very welcome! Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a comment. 😊
Found your video looking up if anyone else has this problem. Just found 2 Three inch L144's in our hang on filter.
They love moving water, and often crawl into HOB filters.
Thats how they become an invasive species in some places, going upstream and getting from a river in another
Yes, that's true.
Glad to see you back, was getting worried.
I'm still here . . . I haven't been to your channel in a while, can't wait to see what you've been up to lately.
Woooo 😯
I didn’t know this, I’ve never seen it and I only have bottom fish.
My favorite veil tail climbed the HOB filter and I found her all dry in the morning, it broke my heart.
Now I understand.
Thank you, Dave.
Thanks for watching the video. Sorry to hear about your veil tail. Unfortunately, they love to go with the flow. . .
New subscriber but im hooked
Im looking forward for more aquarium fish documentaries and how to breed , ect..
good job dave! One of the best aquarium channel on here
Oh and by the way , are all plecos the same to breed? From a regular petstore pleco to a zebra or fancy L plecos ?
Thanks for watching the video and subscribing! I'm glad you like my work. All plecos are different in their care and breeding requirements, so it's best to do your research before going all in.
Yeah! The Dave is back!
I am . . Thanks for your enthusiasm as always. ❤
Plecos must know where are smooth rocks on their path avoiding those sharp edged. Their translucent bellies are so delicate. Interesting to observe pulsating internal organs, pure life force ❤️🔥!
They're amazing fish. I was shocked to see them climb as well as they did.
Nice to hear that my plecos stories are appreciated 😃
One of my beloved female ancistrus had unusual custom, no other pleco did it in such way. She went to diner place, took algae wafer into her mouth and walked backwards ( !) with it on her two fins pairs - pelvic and pectoral, simultaneously. She walked that way through half aquarium length, released algae wafer and went to next wafer and repeated all her walk. She enjoyed such walk, had a fun.
She was lovely, unique lady ancistrus.
That's awesome! I have seen my ancistrus do that too. 😃
Hi, the Dave I enjoyed the video and also I live down here in Florida and the common plecos are super huge and all over the place. There are times where I will go to a small stream near my house and throw out a minnow trap for fun to see what I catch and when I check later I end up catching 5 to 6 jewel cichlids and a bunch of mosquito fish.
I love jewel cichlids, but I wouldn't want them eating all of my native fish! Everything lives in the warm waters of Florida! I wonder if there are oscars breeding out there somewhere? I live where it's too cold for tropical fish to survive (Massachusetts). They say that snakeheads might be invading our area. They're amazing fish too, but I hope they don't spread around here.
@@TheDave333 yes Dave you are correct on the Oscars breeding because believe or not, there is a highschool about 5 minutes away from me and there is a canal on the side of the school and I have seen some Oscars in there as well as some spotted tilapia.
Love your channel by the way 🐟
That's crazy, but I'm not surprised. Thanks for loving my channel.
This is the most amazing pleco video I've ever seen!
Thanks Chi!
impressive.
Thanks !
I breed BNPs and discovered they would climb up the intake tube of my HOB filters and get stuck inside. I had to create mesh barriers to block them, but not the water.
BNPs also love to lay directly in the bubble stream of the airstones.
They do love moving water! ❤
@@TheDave333
I call them "water puppies!"
That's a great name for them. Quick question. . . Have you noticed that the bristles on albino BNPs don't get as large and branched as the bristles on the chocolate ones? Or is that just on mine?
It’s in my plans to make an aquarium with this dynamic 😊
That sounds great! I love moving water. I had a tank with a big waterfall in it and my 4 year old called it the carwash tank. 😊
I had a bristlenose climb up my tank divider and crossed over to the other side. Thank goodness my water level was down.
Yes, they do love to climb. It the same, but even more extreme, with hillstream loaches. . . How many tank do you have?
I have 13 because I love angelfish. I started with 2 and watched your angelfish video and bought 6 . ended up with 6 females . I ended up buying more aquariums because I didn't want to get rid of them because I'm attached. I bought one male, and they laid eggs, so I watched your video again and reached out to you. I don't think I'm very good at growing up the angelfish babies. Then I moved my bristlenose plecos and they had babies so I watched your video about them. They had a lot! They now have 3 aquariums. I'm not sure when they will start fighting. Do you know? You are very professional with awesome videos!! Your research must be very time-consuming !
Wow 13 tanks! I had no idea you were that deep down the rabbit hole! 😊 I'm hovering somewhere around 22 tanks at the moment. The bristlenose babies will probably start fighting over territories at around 3 - 4 months of age. Consider finding a shop to buy your baby fish, or get someone else started in the hobby. 😊
Wow, I didn't know that they can breathe outside of water. I have had experience with this 😮 my son thought that the juvenile was dead, and I rescued it after probably 2 - 3 minutes, and it survived.
Fish are full of surprises! ❤
Woohoo! Dave’s back!!!
Thanks for watching the video! And for your enthusiasm. ❤
I'm so happy to see your new video! Congratulations on your extremely handsome fish and thank you as always for the wonderful information you pack on these mini-documentaries, they are priceless.👌

Love your content Dave! Top notch quality as always
Thank you so much. I love making these mini-documentaries.
I saw this as a child like 20-25 years ago :) good fun
It is good fun. Thanks for watching. 😊
If plecos are freshwater nurse sharks, then nurse sharks are saltwater plecos. ❤🏥🦈
I like to think of plecos as the South American version of the Loach.
❤love it.
😊Thanks
Do you have gambusia?
I used to, but not any more.
for reference, what size are these plecos?
About 1 1/2 inches
I certainly learned something! Thank you so much. And thank you for the beauty of your films. Decades ago I hard that Florida was having trouble with a catfish which was crawling from pond to pond when they tried to poison them. They were getting so large they were causing traffic accidents while crossing the road. In my mind they were a Corey type catfish. Humans cause so much trouble when we do not think about what we are doing. Thank you again.
You're very welcome, and thanks for watching the video. Many of us think that we can improve upon nature, or that we somehow need to manage it. When, in reality, it's us humans that need managing.
@@TheDave333 Yes, self control is a lot of humbling work, yet so worthwhile.
I agree.
I have watched video about common pleco living in the wild in Florida. Their story is actually very sad. They were released into alien environment for them. As sturdy species they want to survive, their customs are not always compatible with local species. Those fish may be considered as invasive but brainless humans put them there, they only want to live...
We can blame pet shops too, only some of them provide full info about species, e.g. how big they grow. Small common plecos or leopard plecos are often sell as "algae eater" 😡
It is very sad, and we have no one to blame but ourselves.
@@TheDave333Foreign species can show other, darker side of themselves in new environment, alien to them. Not plecos, they want to survive 🥹. But l can tell awkward example from central and eastern Europe in some states behind former Iron Curtain.Story is about plant - Heracleum sosnovskyi. This plant come from Caucasus .Since the middle of XX century it was imported and cultivated here from USSR as wonder food for farm animals, rich in nutrients and very efficient.
But big problems occur - animals didn't like silage made from this plant and worse issue, plant change into extremely aggressive invasive species. Especially for humans, direct contact with this plant results with severe burns that worsen in sunlight. Even from distance plant can cause burns that are hard to treat. People call this plant "Stalin's revenge" of course silently - political reasons 🤫 in those days. In 70 th plantations were abandoned. Plants became wild, proliferated well. Extermination of this species is hard due to regeneration from roots. Bad issue is that Heracleum sosnovskyi looks similar to some other useful umbellate species which are eliminated by mistake.
Today it's still present in many areas ,still dangerous especially during hot summer.
Sometimes public health institutions alert people to be cautious.
Despite peoples political theories about soviet "gift", idea was good, nobody can predict that normal plant become monster. Scientific research was conducted but nature turned strange.
@@TheDave333Do bigger pleco species like common pleco wander up waterfalls in the wild ? Captive common plecos rather prefer lazy life until not bothered.
It would be cool if you had a wolffish!
It really would, I love the molar on those guys. They look like human teeth! I'd still prefer to have a snakehead. . .
@@TheDave333 But they're illegal in our country.
Yes, unfortunately, but there are some invasive ones near where I live.
I have several of these wonderful little quirky fish. Thank you so much for such a great video about them.
You are very welcome. 😊
Another excellent and educational video Dave. Thanks a lot...
You're very welcome Paul. Thanks for watching it.
Awesome experiment and video! Pecos are very strong fish, their muscles let them do things that majority of fish can only dream of. New fact I have learned is they wander through waterfalls seeking new territories, interesting.
Plecos love strong water current, well oxygenated. If it's provided in aquarium they don't think about escape. In fact they are bonded to places they love - I mean adults, babies are more into knowing something new. If their aquarium is quiet place , environment meets their needs they never escape.
My plecos loved even sit upside-down under strong current from filter.
Plecos will escape if there is lack of oxygen. They want to survive at any cost. One day I put my plecos to bucket half filled with water ( did something in their aquarium). They were scared, climb to bucket edge on dry surface! I did my job with aquarium and simultaneously bring plecos back to water in the bucket 🪣.
Hello again, thanks for watching the video and sharing your experiences. Plecos are amazing fish.
Was just checking your channel out again for new uploads, glad i got my fix this week!
Welcome back!
This fishes are migrating beings.
just like all migrating fish especially those with horizontally positioned flat bodies (Plecos and loaches)
use their teeth scales and spines on their fins to grip the rock of waterfalls, along with suction also from the mouth and the underbelly. Depending on how smooth or rough the surface is they use different combinations of suction and grasping.
You are absolutely correct my friend! They are very versatile creatures, perfectly designed to navigate moving water. Thank you for watching the video and taking the time to leave a comment.
This is really awesome!
Nice video as always.
Cant wait for hillstream loach vid...
Coming soon!
Nice video Dave!! Keep go❤️❤️ Love from Sri Lanka
Thanks! 😃
Now, the pleco is having fun. . . Yay!!!
It's like a pleco waterslide.

@@TheDave333 oh ok
Plecos are fun , Found about them when I was 8 , still I love these creatures
They really are interesting fish. I breed them and sell them to a local pet store for 3.00 each when they're about 2 inches in length. I prefer the albinos and probably have about 50 of them at any one time.
@@TheDave333 wow nice 👍Am going to breed guppies or mollies soon

It'd be interesting to build them another tank to get to and have 2 ways of traveling back and forth.
Great idea, that would be interesting like a pleco highway!
@TheDave333 yeah, I mentioned it hoping you'd make it!
So many fish, so little time. 😊
@@TheDave333 hah! But it would be badass lol
I gave it some thought, and I think it would be a one way trip. . . They'd follow the current into the upper tank, and then never go back downstream . . .
