      Yeah I got to agree too, you did exactly what said not to do. You pushed too hard and forced a moved that wasn't really on. The guy had a bad entry to the corner which slowed him and then you got right behin him and forced a passed on the left, I dont think the guy did anything wrong atleast not on purpose. Like you basically said to if you qualified and got nearer the front then you would of missed trying to pass all the cars on a track that would is easy to make a mistake
      That driver needed to brake and you was really close not giving your self time to brake and avoid anything, you even said before that there was nothing you can do.

    It is normal on the Nordschleife to take a line as far away as possible if you see a car with a tire on the dirt. Maybe the car in front noticed it and Dave just didn't?

  • @noahgray5229
    @noahgray5229 7 місяців тому +7

    Really don't think that incident after miss-hit-miss was anybody's fault or malice etc. It's a fast, tight section and in the 992 cup, you gotta plan ahead if you have to adjust your line, especially on a track like this, really difficult to suddenly swerve at the last moment without crashing yourself out, especially when there's barely space for two wide to begin with. Guy ahead was just trying to make sure he gets through cleanly, you realised too late there was a slow car there, and.. well, you drove into him. Not per se your fault, but that's not a spot I'd want to try for a move so early on, if I'm honest
    To add, I'd love to see you take on this week's GTE race around the combined schleife

  • @JoshTT2
    @JoshTT2 7 місяців тому

    Whilst it may not have been an intentional block, the outcome was the same as a reactive move, which just demonstrates why it's a bad idea to move that late. Very little time to react to that. I wouldn't feel bad about it either, Dave.
    Holy that rejoin from the silver car 😱

    100% agree. All the expert drivers that don’t qualify and then spend the race pressuring not so good drivers that did qualify are a nuisance. Causing carnage as they barge their way to the front. How many times do you see someone start 18 and finish 1. Menaces. Qualify!!!

    Racing has this cool mechanism that lets you start in front of everyone that’s worse than you. Qualifying. If you qualified you wouldn’t have to spend the whole race wishing bad luck upon other people so you can get a good result.
    As a slow driver myself, there’s nothing worse than seeing someone double or triple my talent starting behind me because they refused to qualify. Because every single time they get impatient and shove their way through leaving a trail of chaos and disaster in their wake.
    Literally sucks the fun out of online racing.

    • @davecamm

      @@davecammI get it though. You’re a content creator and you make a living making content. And if you started at the front of every race and just ran away from everyone it wouldn’t be exciting content and make money.
      And I’m not trying to bash you or even be argumentative. Nor am I even saying you should change.
      But as someone who has been on the receiving end of someone with 2-3x my rating start behind me and wrecked by them… I’ll make my opinion known. I hate it and I don’t find it good content. There’s no realistic world where someone with 2-3x my rating should be starting behind me. I’m slower. By a lot. But I get labeled “unpredictable” because I brake on “weird” places or am slower in some corners… yeah, that’s what makes me slower, I’m literally not as good as that person who’s 2-3x higher rated than me. If I knew the proper braking points and lines I would have a higher rating. Having someone who’s 2-3x my rating suddenly appear in my mirror out of no where with their “alien” pace, breathing down my neck, poking their nose into every gap, doesn’t help me. It doesn’t make me suddenly faster or learn the proper way to take corners. I either just have to bail out of the way or hope they’ll actually be patient and pass me cleanly. Usually if I don’t bail I get wrecked. All because someone who should never be behind me is behind me.
      Yeah, it sucks every ounce of fun out of online racing for me. I do not enjoy those moments at all, and I learn nothing from them.

      I jumped from "practice", to "warm up", then race.

    • @_NotQualityContent
      @_NotQualityContent 7 місяців тому +1

      @@pichueka Yes you can. For Nordschliefe races (other than NEC and special events), the qualifying session isn't part of the race session, qualifying is it's own standalone session within the series. You can do the qualifying session once, and it will carry over for multiple race events.
