I will forever be baffled how these guys are like 2 seconds faster than my pb while just chilling saving fuel

it honestly makes no sense. no matter what I do, I cannot match them! no amount of studying or practice is helping

@hypnotiq Setup my man setup ! With open setups I use iRacing own setups and am always 2s slower. And with Ferrari Fixed I’m always 1s slower IMMEDIATELY but after some real practice I could be down to 0.5s-0.8s and that’s not abnormal. Also car BOP with Audi I’m 3s off pace at Spa and with Porsche I was 2s off pace and with iRacing setup. So give me fixed setup and equal BOP and then bring it on 10.000 iRating guy. BUT I just don’t buy setups and don’t hunt for the OP cars, I just stay with Audi R8 GT3 cause I like the cockpit sound of it and just like it in general. So I compete in my split even if I’m worth higher splits and iRating. Because if iRating goes up, split goes up and then I have to drop the R8 and choose OP cars and buy setups which like I said don’t do.
Dave is fun to watch because he's fast as f... but still relatable. He's still human, he makes the occasional rare mistake and the race develops as he reacts to things.
The next level guys, the bunch finishing in front of him here... aren't. They're more like AI robots than human drivers, driving in precise single file every milisecond of a whole race. This is why nothing happens in a race like this when the SOF is this high... Honestly watching less skilled randos is often more fun

Thought I was doing well in the fixed series here ….. low 201’s (apparently that’s not very quick at all) … also ..know what you mean about the tyre warmers at the start of races …. Some take it to ridiculous levels … seen people wipe others clear off the track .. I have had to stay back sometimes as the “tyre warmer “ has taken the entire track .? Nice race Dave … impressive those that can drive quickly whilst giving commentary… only commentary you’d get from myself (if I tried ) whilst racing would be a load of swear words an grunts .
Dave, On these longer races, Could you put on the Racelab fuel numbers.

You had me laughing when you were making fun of the weavers at the start. Maybe it has changed, but at one point some people did tests and found that it doesn't help. It's better to drag your brakes or speed up and brake hard over and over on the parade lap, from what I remember about it. Anyway, I'm always hoping they'll hit each other.

You're about 1 year behind mate haha. Brake drag is fixed and weaving actually helps now

Its not about warming up brakes. Its about reducing that initial understeer you have from tires out of the box

Longer races are so much more interesting to watch than shorter ones

Great consistent race with a solid result!! 👍🏼 I wonder if the Porsche would have been kinder on the rears without a loss of grip and exit speed?
I also use R8 but it has not that blue interior light so it’s really dark inside. Wish there was the blue light like Lambo etc.. so I put brightness to +10 on iRacing to see something otherwise too much eye strain

100% agree with you ;) People who zigzag on the track during rolling start are stupid and dangerous because they can lose the car and make carnage !
They think they're warming their tires, and it's something they've seen on TV.
Finally there are other competitive cars either than the Ferrari.
I don't mean to be funny mate, but you said in a previous vid that you've switched from triples to single because of FPS issues, but the graphics when you were running triples looked a lot better than they do here.
Very strange as the graphical settings here are lower and at 1440p. That's tech for you 🤣
I'm trying to figure out the purpose of the "fuel total" on the Audi's dash. I thought it was fuel level but the amount kept going up, so I assume it's how much fuel you've used in total? Except you clearly haven't used that much fuel.
Either way I can't imagine why someone would want to know how much fuel you used. I just want to know how much fuel is left.

Quick question, i only drive ACC basically so i don’t understand this haha, is there a reason you put your electronics sooo high?, in ACC the audi uses tc 1 / 0 and ABS 2 basically everywhere
IRacing is much more sensitive to abs/TC than ACC. ACC has GT7 levels if grip 😁
It has great Accel out of the corners but wears them out it looks like
