I think it's kind of weird and really sad that if an ox gouged somebody, they wouldn't just put it down, but they stoned it. Seems cruel to make an animal suffer, whether it hurt somebody or not--it's not like it understood it was doing evil and all. :"( But it's God saying it, so.... I guess there must be some sort of symbolism in it or something? Not just needless cruelty. But still. Lots I don't understand about the OT that I just cross my fingers none of my unbelieving friends ever ask me about 😅
