Pretty much all the things you said - they bring back classic metal, but with a modern twist, and their talent level is so high to play what they do live, so in sync with each other. As others have said. This is their first live performance after the hiatus. And it seems like they come back as a strengthened and happy band. They seem more relaxed and more happy. There can be many reasons for this. One is that they are older and two of them are now moms. Another reason might be Fami, a young girl that seems to be a bundle of joy. This song is BTW her first performance for a Lovebites'es audience. Anyhow, Lovebites mk I is totally fantastic. They have very good performances to look at and have written loads of fantastic music. But Lovebites mk II is something else. It has more drive and more happiness. And it has also produced some new bangers. Note, that this particular song is an old one. @@rainerzufall42 When recommending videos for reactions, it’s actually typical to pick the better songs, so while there are better options available now, it doesn’t really make sense to pick Holy War. I think people pick it mostly out of habit now, rather than the effect it would have on the reactor, as very few people seem to even favor it enough to put it in a top 10. Personally, I just think it’s average when compared to all their songs (not near top, or bottom), while average doesn’t make a good pick IMO.

This is a video of the first number in the band's first concert after being on hiatus for nearly two years. It is also the first time the new bassist, Fami, played with the band in public. At the time this was recorded she was 20 years old, had never previously played in a real band or performed in public before an audience of any size. I think Fami (bassist) at that concert was his first live performance with the band. They are extraordinarily talented, keep reacting to any song live, and you will see why they are the best band of the last 30 years. They never disappoint.
Welcome to the Wolfpack - Lovebites is seriously one of the best groups of musicians in rock/metal today. They look like they are having fun because they are *having fun*! This video was also sort of a landmark for them, as it was their first tour after coming back from the pandemic break, with a new bassist at that. (Fami, the bassist in question, is an incredible talent - so she fits in with each of these incredible musicians so well.) I highly recommend more of their stuff. They deserve every moment of fame they can get, because they somehow transcend genre. Check out "Frozen Serenade" and "Swan Song (with Chopin intro)" if you want to see some more balladic stylings, "Spellbound" if you want to be transported back to the 1980's, or "Soldier Stands Solitarily" for some one high BPM thrash metal. Another great female group of artists from Japan is Band-Maid. (Check out DOMINATION, or HATE live to start with.)

Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcibed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman. Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos. Fami, Bacchus Bass. Recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens. Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed. All members of the band can play piano/keyboards. They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023. The ladies really shine on stage. I saw Lovebites live in London twice last summer during their recent European tour. I have been a fan of Rock and Metal music right from the beginning seeing bands bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Iron Maiden when they were 'new', Lovebites are amongst the best I have ever seen since I started going to music gigs in the 1960's. 🤘🐺
A little extra info. This video is the opening song of Lovebites 'come back' concert in March 2023, and is the first time on stage with the band for their new bass player Fami. It is also her first time in front of an audience of this size. The full concert ran to nearly 2 hours with no slackening in pace and power. Yes, the Girls can ROCK

With the duet Midori & Miyako, you had generally 2 solo and a synchronization solo, on each songs. A LOVEBITES concert is around 14 songs. I saw them last June in Paris 🇨🇵. It was the best concert in my life. I hope to see them again as soon as possible. A lots of reactors called ASAMI the female BRUCE DICKINSON. Inspiration of LOVEBITES are: Judas Priest, Iron maiden, Helloween, Dio, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Anthrax, dragon force, Drovac, Chopin, Mozart, Bach ( Miyako the dark hair guitarist is a very talented pianist) she composed a lots of their songs.

You are right that the American music industry tries to keep us from seeing outside artists. And they have help from the US state department and the IRS. There are a host of laws and regulations that make it tough for foreign artists to get any exposure here.
@@mcflyjp Actually, China and Iran are the only other major states to restrict foreign art. They do it for the reason you suggested: fear of outside propaganda. The US passed all these laws and restrictions to protect our domestic entertainment industry (Music labels, Hollywood)--in direct response to lobbying by those industries.
Congratulations on discovering Lovebites. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist, after their founder and original bassist left the band for personal reasons. Great that you have reacted to Lovebites. I discovered them because of Fami who I had been keeping up to date with every time she released something on her channel from before she did Alien Alien. Now Lovebites has led me to Rolling Quartz, an all female Korean rock band and who are the happiest and best looking band, especially the drummer. They all enjoy what they are doing so much.

Bassist Fami did her first song of the first common performance with LOVEBITES here (and the rest of them the first show on stage after almost 2 years hiatus. Founding bassist Miho left the band in August 2021 for personal reasons during Covid-19.

As others have said. This is their first live performance after the hiatus. And it seems like they come back as a strengthened and happy band. They seem more relaxed and more happy. There can be many reasons for this. One is that they are older and two of them are now moms. Another reason might be Fami, a young girl that seems to be a bundle of joy. This song is BTW her first performance for a Lovebites'es audience. Anyhow, Lovebites mk I is totally fantastic. They have very good performances to look at and have written loads of fantastic music. But Lovebites mk II is something else. It has more drive and more happiness. And it has also produced some new bangers. Note, that this particular song is an old one. I think people pick it mostly out of habit now, rather than the effect it would have on the reactor, as very few people seem to even favor it enough to put it in a top 10. Personally, I just think it’s average when compared to all their songs (not near top, or bottom), while average doesn’t make a good pick IMO.

It's great to see such talent going back to the classic rock roots.
I think Fami (bassist) at that concert was his first live performance with the band. They are extraordinarily talented, keep reacting to any song live, and you will see why they are the best band of the last 30 years. They never disappoint.

Welcome to the Wolfpack - Lovebites is seriously one of the best groups of musicians in rock/metal today. They look like they are having fun because they are *having fun*! This video was also sort of a landmark for them, as it was their first tour after coming back from the pandemic break, with a new bassist at that. (Fami, the bassist in question, is an incredible talent - so she fits in with each of these incredible musicians so well.)
I highly recommend more of their stuff. They deserve every moment of fame they can get, because they somehow transcend genre. Check out "Frozen Serenade" and "Swan Song (with Chopin intro)" if you want to see some more balladic stylings, "Spellbound" if you want to be transported back to the 1980's, or "Soldier Stands Solitarily" for some one high BPM thrash metal.
Another great female group of artists from Japan is Band-Maid. (Check out DOMINATION, or HATE live to start with.)

LOVEBITES is a five-member all-female, Japanese heavy metal band with deep musicianship (plus classical music/piano background). Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects.
Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the bassist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string)
The present members are,
Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker.
Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE.
Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcibed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman.
Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos.
Fami, Bacchus Bass. Recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens.
Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed.
All members of the band can play piano/keyboards.
They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023.

The ladies really shine on stage. I saw Lovebites live in London twice last summer during their recent European tour. I have been a fan of Rock and Metal music right from the beginning seeing bands bands like Black Sabbath, Deep Purple and Iron Maiden when they were 'new', Lovebites are amongst the best I have ever seen since I started going to music gigs in the 1960's. 🤘🐺
A little extra info. This video is the opening song of Lovebites 'come back' concert in March 2023, and is the first time on stage with the band for their new bass player Fami. It is also her first time in front of an audience of this size. The full concert ran to nearly 2 hours with no slackening in pace and power. Yes, the Girls can ROCK

With the duet Midori & Miyako, you had generally 2 solo and a synchronization solo, on each songs. A LOVEBITES concert is around 14 songs. I saw them last June in Paris 🇨🇵. It was the best concert in my life. I hope to see them again as soon as possible.

On October 21st, 2022, they announced their new bassist Fami, she has been a great addition to the band, and they have done so much to keep her in the spotlight. Almost all of my new music from the past two years consists of female led Asian bands, whether rock/metal/pop/funk/punk, it's all there. LOVEBITES has emerged as my favorite, and I mean as an all-timer, rising to join Led Zeppelin and Van Halen. I was so fortunate to see their first ebr concert on US soil in Atlanta this September. Totally awesome!!
You are right that the American music industry tries to keep us from seeing outside artists. And they have help from the US state department and the IRS. There are a host of laws and regulations that make it tough for foreign artists to get any exposure here.
It's actually ridiculous. I would like to understand the reasons for that outside of fear of outside propaganda.
@@mcflyjp Actually, China and Iran are the only other major states to restrict foreign art. They do it for the reason you suggested: fear of outside propaganda. The US passed all these laws and restrictions to protect our domestic entertainment industry (Music labels, Hollywood)--in direct response to lobbying by those industries.

Congratulations on discovering Lovebites. In their first five years of existence, they put themselves on par with the greatest bands of metal’s golden age. They recently went on a year-and-a half hiatus while they waited out the pandemic and searched for a new bassist, after their founder and original bassist left the band for personal reasons.
They announced the new bassist in October 2022 (see below) and dropped their first new song on December 22. Their new album, “Judgement Day”, was released two months later.

Great that you have reacted to Lovebites. I discovered them because of Fami who I had been keeping up to date with every time she released something on her channel from before she did Alien Alien. Now Lovebites has led me to Rolling Quartz, an all female Korean rock band and who are the happiest and best looking band, especially the drummer. They all enjoy what they are doing so much.

Here some information about them:

LOVEBITES came back in October 2022 with new bassist Fami and a few months later with new album „Judgement Day“. Their newest release is „LOVEBITES EP II“ with 5 amazing new songs.

Asami on vocals (the one and only voice):
She has an amazing vocal range and vibrato, writes most of the lyrics, also did parts of the song writing for their latest 2 albums, she is a former ballerina and RnB/soul singer
Miyako on guitars, piano, keyboards (the golden touch):
She is the musical brain of the band, main composer and arranger, a soulful but also shreddy guitar player and concert level pianist, furthermore she is a gear nerd
Midori on guitars (crazy shredder):
Incredibly fast and technical guitar player, has contributed to songwriting for a few of their songs, also she is a body fitness athlete
Haruna on drums (little big engine):
Plays very fast pace over long distances, she is very efficient and her stamina is admirable, the cymbal work is outstanding, she also wrote one of their songs including lyrics, creates handmade miniature fake food
Fami on bass since 2022 (shining fingers):
Absolute bass prodigy with outstanding technique, she speaks faster than sonic speed as she plays and smiles non-stop
Miho on bass until 2021 (natural born headbanger):
We will never forget her, she is a great bass player, she wrote several of the songs for the band’s albums 1-3
