That's the FUJI engine same as used in Hodaka. See the cover at shift lever. You go inside that with 2 wrenches and adjust the ratchet mechanism that shifts gears. Has an eccentric bolt to move lever position. Sensitive and if worn out cannot get it to hold all 5 positions to keep it in all 5 gears. Transmission has a plunger that pushes steel balls out of a hub to engage each gear. Worked part time for a hodaka dealer and learned it when I was teenager
I can remember my dad being a Indian dealer at one time and a little Indian that everybody like was called a Bambino. If you can find those bikes now they’re worth a lot of money. It brings back a lot of memories.😊
They are becoming rocking horse 💩to find and the ones that are found have all been restored and now commanding silly price's😥 will be nice to see what you do with it.

I have a 73 ME-100…I believe the engine, if not the whole bike, was built in Taiwan. Correct me if you know please
This is a good find but I'm thinking it would be hard to find parts for it .
Would love to restore those old bikes for a living......what a blessed life 🙏
