I am loving you right now! I spent days trying to understand and see how to register myself as self employed. Your tutorial helped me a lot. Thank you!!
Best video explaining this process on UA-cam. I just want to ask if process would be same if I'm employed full time and I want to be self employed on the side ( re-sale business). Also do I have to tell my employer?
Hi, I usually do some daily works like painting walls or do house renovation stuff or doing loader works, I guess you understand me. Could you please help me to understand which form should I fill the self-assessment form or not self-assessment one? Thanks in advance
Excellent explanations... Its is so bonkers and confusing... And why are they referring to people as Businesses??? Anyway, thanks for that, very helpful.
Hey great video thanks, wonder if you can help, how do I register for first time for self asses to get utr, with an existing gateway account so as not to create a duplicate gateway account. Thanks Dan
@@merythg79 I just phoned them in the end. They set it all up on the phone for me, sent the letter with UTR and I was then able to complete all details online, really easy and helpful.
Thank you! I have a question! Please if you could help me! I am working in a pub 3 times a week and Im keeping this job and recently i have completed a course to become a facialist. So, in order to gain experience I went to a treatment studio to look for work for 2 days a week. The boss said that I must register as self employed and I will not pay for a space in her studio instead I will give her an invoice at the end of each week and she will be paying me 12 pounds per hour + 10% commission working with her clientele. My question is: isnt her legal obligation to provide me with a contract that states Im working as self employed in her salon?? What am I supposed to fill out when registering as self employed in the section that says " If you re working for one person or firm only you may be employed rather than self employed-are you working for one person or firm only?"
hi u need to registar as salon employed and subsidise the studio income by the commission amount. eg. if u earn 2 pounds 20 pences from a haircut, lets say short back & sides. then 10% will go straight to ur business account. Its ultimately her obligation to provide the contract that states which type of haircut will be provided to each customer.
Hi there, I need help.. I have already a Gateway ID right, and I have been employed and I can see all my details and the taxes I paid previously and my Employer details. There in that section I can add a new Employer, right? I work as a Self-employed now but for an agency that sends me weekly my payments. Should I add them there in the new Employer or I have to register as a Self-employed from scratch? Will they give me a new Gateway different from the one I have got already? Please give me some support because I asked advisor that did nothing. Thanks in advance.. Chiara
Hello! I have to become to self employed, the thing is that i work in a bussines that is not mine, the mánager give 50% of each tattoo i make,so the bussines is not mine. So what kind of selfemployer i have to mark un the website? Thankss
Hi Laura, thanks so much for your question. If you are freelancing for a business this would still count as being self-employed and the company you are working for would be considered your client. There are rules around working freelance for only one company however (usually freelancers should have multiple clients), so we would recommend that you double check by calling HMRC. They are always quite responsive and helpful.
Thanks so much for your comment! Unfortunately, we cannot advise you on this. Our recommendation would be to contact HMRC in the UK directly for advice and clarification. We hope this helps, and best of luck in your freelance journey!
