I have a Grundig 305. I got it a few years ago, completely new, never been used, and at a very good price. I am delighted with it, it works perfectly and I really like the sound of it. I thought I would be almost the only person to have a unit of this model.
I wanted a DCC player back in the day but ended up going down the minidisc route instead. This kind of thing is a real wonder of engineering, completely obsolete obviously but still fascinating.
The first time I put my hands on a DCC recorder was at the Firato in Amsterdam in 1992. Philips showed the DCC900 and Grundig showed this one. I immediately liked it better than the 900. I may be wrong but I think it took over a year before the DCC600 became available in the stores, even though we now know that 2nd generation recorders were produced as early as 1992. And it took until 1994 before the 3rd generation recorders showed up and it was finally possible to edit song titles.

Minidisc is better, because it's magneto optical, with no heads or tape to wear out.
@@marcse7en I found it a great format, compact, portable, good sounds quality. Retired it a few years ago now and sold all my discs
@@roasthunter Yes, technology moves on, doesn't it?
This channel continues to amaze me, thanks for the great videos. I tried a DCC player in Japan in late 1992... but went for MiniDisc instead.
@@realjohnboxall Don’t feel bad. We all make mistakes like that lol.
I also went to Minidisc because it was cheaper for a student who was 15 years at that time. Now i went to DCC and i must say i love it. :)

BOUGHT 2 PHILLIPS DCC AND LOVED THEM! ONE, THE RECORD WENT OUT BUT WOULD STILL PLAY. USED THEM FOR
LIVE RECORDING AND
DUPLICATION ONE AT
A TIME.
Good clear sound from the player, I like it
I remember DCC players now. I remember begging my mom for one… but Philips only had the rights to make. I wanted a pioneer one
در یک کلام،شاهکاری زیبا و بسیار ارزنده 👌🏻🤩🤩🌹
i think it is made by Philips. Philips was Grundig from 1984-1998.
I dream of DCC, but it's so hard to get and so expensive. Does any other Philips except the DCC730 and DCC951 have the ability to enter titles?
@@Miki_00017 ThevTechnics RSDC8, Victor 919 and Philips 175 portable with cable and software
@@DRDCC thanks. So I will search DCC730 or DCC951

These sure scared the music industry. I always liked the mini disc better but it failed to
Please donate it to me.
Good luck finding tape for it💩
