I want to say thank you to whoever is making this Grubbyfied versions of the heroes for the thumbnails, I love them!! My favourities are the Doom, Gyro and Invoker Grubbys
Mischief is my single favourite ability from what little dota2 I've played. You can disguise as a whole list of things depending on the gamestate and where you are. It's not really elaborated on but the wiki has a full list. Probably the best thing to disguise as is a rune, bounty or otherwise by using mischief on the spawnpoint. To bait a melee enemy to come collect it and whack em.
The lane phase was not just a skill matchup, you were countered and your dazzle played it wrong. But you could have also played it better. Even if you weren't confident in dodgin with mischief, you could have pressured ench so that she didn't get to farm you, but that was supposed to be dazzle's job. You also could have went aggressively on ench, since she deals way less damage that way and impetus cost mana. You already saw ench buying multiple clarity potions, because she was using everything on you. What you needed was for dazzle to actually auto attack, you both to be aggressive to ench when she felt like bullying you, you getting a lot more sustain items, like clarities. Even then the lane was hard, because bounty can just harass you at the same time as this without getting punished. But if you played that way it would have been a more skill and positioning matchup rather than an impossible stomp.
on your comments on playing the lane safe, the thing is that you two had to man up on ench. If both of you go on her and build jingu plus dazzle's poison touch she dies. But that is match up knowledge that you have to build up.
Oh my god you started playing Dota. I remember thinking that this game would win a lot if you joined in. The beauty of the game is the variety of combinations of heroes + spells + items + decisions that may work in some cases and fail in others. I really hope to see you on next TI
I think grubby problem with mk is the same with lycan Too focus on their other mechanics (wolf body blocking and mk tree jump) instead of focus on farming and fighting
Morbid Mask is an overlooked item on MK. It allows you to be more aggressive, giving you more Jingu stacks which in turn allows you to be even more aggressive. In that first game, if you buy Morbid instead of that first Ogre Axe (delaying Echo Sabre), you actually can farm. Not fast, but without having to TP back after every camp.
it was the most "I had no Idea what I am doing" game I ever seen from you! :))) even invoker was better! although needless to say It was your first time no one expect rampage here!
I just remembered a unique method where you would phaseboots first and then use mischief to get a permanent phaseboot effect, but I believe this was fixed.
As you said MK's skillset is simple yet you still failed to use them correctly. One of the most simplest combo is getting 4 jingu stacks THEN hitting enemies with your Q for a huge hit. You misunderstood jingu mastery, it gives bonus damage not guaranteed critical strikes therefore comboing jingu with boundless a necessary combo. You can literally heal full hp hitting a creep wave with it.
Chat is so obnoxious, grubby is new, you learn from experience, even getting demolished is a valuable learning experience. You would all be terrible terrible coaches.
There was no mistake here just a lack of knowledge on the opposing hero. I was wondering why he would initiate Juggernaut and Arc Warden without the proper burst damage or disable.
He knew all the opposing heroes, he played them, he just forgets and does not bother to remember the heroes he is faced against. Only after he does mistakes and dies to them he looks and remembers the particular ability that killed him.
30:47 Why not kill the creeps ASAP to reduce damage, rather than bringing them all to a sliver from death then killing them? I see this sometimes in wc3 as well, someone please enlighten me,
No, he's pretty good. He can destroy if you're good at him. Jingu mastery is insane, you can 1v5 with a good ult. Grubby's first time playing him isnt the best way to show how good a hero can be. Its first impressions. For example, you get jingu mastery to go off and then Q and you'll heal to full health if you hit creeps or a few heroes. You can completely turn around fights like that.
well the guide is a bit bad. the problem with echo saber is it doest scale, it is very good with pro player because they will have the same farm anyway and they want to play high phase gaming but i think if ur lower than immortal u should play the mjol agh bkb build which makes playing at lower mmr easier bcause no need high lvl coordination and it focuses on ur farm
It's what you build when you expect to have to fight early and often for the double jingu hit, plus mana regen and 200 hp. Maelstrom is more of a farming tool, it does give much more damage than most other items but nothing else. The main thing that lost him the game here was the fact that he was laning against an enchantress and bounty hunter, which can very easily bully most hard carries out of the lane. Besides, it doesn't really matter what he would have built since the whole team is squishy against a lot of burst damage. Outside of buying all the raindrops there wasn't a lot he could do here.
@@shigerufan1 Look at his draft then look at the enemy draft. You really want to fight early against that? It's also the fact that echo saber does nothing to address MK problem with Enchantress and BH especially in early to mid game.
@@KagirinaiYonaka Ok so what would you have suggested? There are a million things you can do wrong in the game so what do you think he should have done in this situation?
@@shigerufan1 I actually agree with you, talk is cheap because it's far easier to say what someone should do right in retrospect than to be put in the situation. But it's just so frustrating to watch grubby do certain things wrong over and over again in every video. Dendi, Ceb, and s4 already taught him to "identify what is your biggest problem and find a way to deal with it" His biggest problem is Ench and BH early game, Jugg Mid game, and Arc Warden late game. For laning stage, imo the only solution is to buff up because in this game MK can't abandon lane early to jungle unless your off lane is willing to swap to safe lane and/or your VS is willing to rush boots of travel, so triple wraith bands + power threads should do nicely though if you insist on having phase boots then go double bracers, infused raindrops is a must. After laning stage, BKB, blade mail, silver edge, manta style is a good item to have, VS should also help with shiva's guard and Grimstroke with lotus orb. It's actually nice to hear Grubby saying that he rather scale Q first instead of E like what the guide suggested. It was the wrong decision in this game but at least he was thinking and made a deliberate decision about it rather than blindly following the guide. Now if only he can make the same decision for hero customization it would be great.
Why are you switching targets mid neutral creep killing, if you don't intend to aoe them? 30:24 you're doing this in 2 camps in a row, taking way more damage because you're not taking creeps out but letting them hit you.
Monkey is literally the counter to Ench and Bounty Hunter, all you need to do is hit them and stack those jingu to kill them. With dazzle on your side, you don't need to be afraid of dying. (I was wrong Enchant can actually dispel jingu stacks)
Getting stacks on Ench is tough because of her passive, and Enchant dispels the Jingu buff. Although you can hit other heroes to get Jingu and use the Boundless Strike to kill Ench before she Dispels you.
@@ashwinnair1092 Enchantress passive is her ult, Grubby can still attack her during the laning phase and make life difficult for her. Also, what do you mean by "Enchant" dispelling the monkey passive? It doesn't, bro.
@@payaso216 I'm looking at the list of dispellable buffs, and Jingu Mastery's Lifesteal and Damage buffs are listed under there. The stack counter on enemy heroes can't be dispelled, but the buff after 4 hits can be.

The first time I used it, I just pretended to be a rune, courier, tree, or other item. But, the banana is my favorite.

That arc warden player shows up often in grubby's videos. He was named divine rapier enjoyer again here and when the game ended, had a different name.
0:25 - That's what he said.
The main mistake was skipping jingu level 1. Orb combined with dazzles Q could’ve been a massive lane winner on ench.
Good attempt regardless!
Another note is that monkey king is an aggressive hero that enjoyed getting jingu stacks and threatening opponents with that.
Morph is gonna be a nightmare after this
reject humanity, return to monke
Monkey is actually from Indian mythology - Hanuman became Sun Wukong in China

Dota2's monkey King is probably the best version of all the monkey King in MOBA.

I can`t wait to see the A-Z finish and focus on heroes you will use to climb the ladder
2 mid laners / 2 safe laners /2 offlaners/ 2 supports = Climb the ladder pack
currently he spaming spectre for his rank. if support mostly he pick sky

OMG, I'll literally install Dota right now just to play Monkey King
It's such a fun hero
Fun hero. Easy to understand spells but deceptively hard to use to reach his potential. Still recommend trying him out.
nice thumbnail

Return to Monke ^^
Oh by the way grubby. The heroes have click quotes if you keep poking them just like in wc3/hots
I see some LoL players in chat pretending league of legends invented the idea of sun wukong
Even though you can't see someone on the screen withh Mischief, they can still see your mini map icon right?
