I use an anerobic sealer for the case permatex. So it will squish out what it don't need and fill the voids

Also works good for air leaks that u can't get rid of. Just put a thin coat on each side of gasket and let it dry for 12 hrs or so

Hey. Thanks for tuning in. I don't know off hand. You'll have to do some homework for the specs. Shouldn't be to hard to find. Thanks again !

Don't you thin that if the piston were ovaled and not the cylinder bore then the piston would still rotate in a round bore? I suspect that they are both ovaled and therefore prevent.rotation? Inside mics would tell the story quickly side to side and top to bottom. They would also let you know if there was enough meat left to bore the cylinder for a larger piston. My 2 cents. Thanks for the wonderful videos!

Hey. Thanks. I appreciate your input. I really dont know if it would, my brain says it wont. Hahaha Like a square peg in a round hole. But I like the way you think, and, just being a parts motor that I picked up, it really wasnt worth much, but the experience was cool. Never hurts to learn something now and then, plus the experience/knowledge from everyone's comments, like yours, is always a big help and keeps the ole brain ticking. I still have those parts and you never know when I might need something so not a total loss. Thanks again for watching and commenting. Stay tuned !

Good Morning. I thought the water outlet threads on the head was 1/8" NPT. Love your channel, have a great day.

I know the 9.9s and 15s are 1/8 ntp dunno about larger motors. I usually swap em with brass.

I just attempted to change plugs in my 75,25 HP Evinrude, bottom plug no problem, top plug was in real tight from the last ass hole that owned it,got it out and now new plug won't seat tight ,got any suggestions?

Hey. Damn I hate when that happens. You can try a heli coil, (any auto parts store) and there are inserts other than the heli coils, I think they are made by Ford.? Never used one but I've heard of them. Or you can jump on ebay and get another head. Thats all I got brother. let me know how it turns out.

You aren't going to believe this but it was a defective spark plug thread,i tried another one and it fit perfectly and both were brand new Champion plugs, thank you as always for your input, much respected.

Keep in mind that many of these pistons skirt are "cam ground", the skirts are intentionally out of round. The theory is that once the piston warms up the skirt will be round...Perhaps the piston is stiff because there is a carbon rim at the top of the cylinder. I would hone the cylinders, then measure them and the piston skirt....Many people mistakenly try to fit the new pistons to the bore, which is impossible with a cam ground piston skirt, which is why I am so skeptical of sending OMC blocks out "just anywhere" to be bored. I'm wondering why you pulled apart that replacement powerhead? Sorry, but the permatex is no substitute for the gel seal when it comes to sealing the crankcase halves...Too much of that sealer may get into the labrynth seals/bearings and shim the halves apart... The intake gaskets go on dry, no sealer...Good find on the reeds!Yeah, the threads on the 90 degree cooling telltale elbow is pipe thread, not 3/8 course or fine...Are you gonna pull that exhaust tube and replace the grommet and guide? Hoping the rubber cooling deflectors in the block were OK also....

Hahaha hahaha . Sorry but I cant help but laff, not to mention I've had a few beers ! After all this crap you hit me with this ''theory'' stuff. WAY To Greek for me ! Anyway, I measured this and I measured that until I was blue and really couldnt come up with anything concrete, I have 0 clue what a ''cam ground'' is, and I cleaned the cylinder to perfection , no carbon at the top. I pulled the new p-head apart so I could check it out, its a border line P.O.S. , also, I've never used the gel seal, but, I have used just about every thing else (including permatex} and never had a problem (so far), I did use the Prime Seal type 3 aviation sealer on this motor, not Permatex,, a little ''wider bead'' than I normally would put but it was a thin layer. And Yes, like I said in the video, I never would use a sealer on any gasket, but, because I was able to salvage it from the other power head I thought/think it will be fine. I got lucky tapping out elbow with what I had in my tool box, but it worked! The exhaust is going to be a problem, I got it with three striped bolt heads from the previous owner, he managed to get two out with no problem, he likes to tear things down and part them out. The deflectors look fine, and I'm not about to pull them out! Hahaha I'm still cracking up! Like I always say, I always learn something when you stop by. Thanks again. Stay tuned !

Surely, not wanting to throw silly terms around buddy...Just didn't want you to drive yourself nuts measuring piston skirts that are supposed to be out of round. I only brought this up because you mentioned something about the piston being out of round causing it not to fit properly in the beginning of the video...And you are right, I would never pull the deflectors out "to check them", just checking to be sure they are in place (and not burned up) is all that is needed. Good luck with the exhaust tube bolts....

Hey. Good morning. Yes, I did go crazy trying to measure everything, hahaha . Thats whats so damn funny, I'm still laughing ! Thats when I decided to go a different route and put this thing on the back burner for awhile. Like I said, I always learn something when you stop by. Very interesting/crazy stuff with the pistons, I would have never known. I truly appreciate all your input/knowledge, amazing, and always look forward to your comments on my videos. I hope that other viewers are reading this stuff, it's always an education. Thanks again. Stay tuned !
