Even jake can't understand that because he still puts the value on the card he pulls when really it shouldn't matter. Just collect and enjoy and hopefully one day you can pass them down to your kids.

As a kid I watch the pokemon series but wasn’t able to buy cards. As an adult of almost 30. I am in love with this set. I’m thankful that I’m able to buy these and thanks to pokemon for putting these out. Yes my wallet hurts right now 😂 but I’m almost done collecting the set. Just missing a few cards.
Please don't take offence to this if you are already aware of how to spot fake cards, but I would definitely say you should do some research on how to spot them so you don't get ripped off. eBay is rife with fakes but also you can get some fantastic deals on real cards.

I know a couple of people who pay good money for some cards that have being fake. That’s the only thing i dislike about people. They come into the community just to try to get rich quick and ruined it for the people who actually love to play and collect in the game.
I started collecting Pokémon Cards again back in 2017 after doing research of what's out there. I chose to start again with Pokémon XY Evolution buying 4 Booster Boxes and 3 Elite trainer boxes and a bunch of sleeves, Binder with pages. I wanted to do it right this time now as an adult and having access to grown-up money made it a bit easier. Now, I'm addicted to sending my cards to PSA for grading. I'll send even the simplest energy card to get graded. Eventually everything will go up in value. So I rather be prepared.
I'm a 90s kid and bought and lost or trashed sadly many many 1st edition cards. I love the nostalgic aspect of reintroducing the 151. Oh and I'm 35, so apparently I'm "old people". 😂😂

This will definitely be the first ever ultra premium collection that I'm gonna hold sealed long term. The Mew SIR promo alone is pretty much all I care about for 151. And I want to get myself the Japanese one at some point as well. Gonna have fun opening that box. And congrats on the pulls! Hopefully my luck will be that good!
I graded the gold metal mew card and got a 10 on PSA. It's awesome my daughter gets to open packs and Im keeping the graded card in the safe lol. We actually use the cards to battle, I wish more people actually played with the cards, collecting is cool but u gotta know how to actually play

I opened an Obsidian Flames pack and got a really miscut Full art Absol V. I personally like off center / miss cut cards. It make it more unique. I don't grade cards so it's all good to me. I enjoy the cards for whatever they are. Oh and I love this box.
36 years old. I had a full set of base cards. Left them at home when I went off to college. My parents think they gave them to the neighbor kids or my cousins (rip). I decided to open a few of these packs. Now I'm 15 packs in. Pulled both Charizards, Venusaur, and a few art cards. Most fun I've had in a long time!
Late to the party but I just ordered mine and definitely paid less then $100 even with tax! Been collecting since I was 11 12 years old. Still have my entire collection. Looking forward to seeing what I get with this!
I suggest trading to a shop, I just traded a couple old cards and got a 100$ box straight trade. I doubt my old ones would even grade 5 or 6 and they did a straight trade. Quite happy to now 25 years later be collecting the original 151 with my 7 year old son
I am confused. I just started back in collecting these 151 cards and while I was on vacation in Tenessee, I found a vending machine that sold those three promo cards in the deck box with the mew coin. Didn't have any booster packs but it was sold for $20...
I’ve opened about 50 packs got quite a few hits. I about 10 of those were nothing good though 😂 but it happens just happy to be collecting the original 151. Glad your luck is getting better 🙌🏾
I’ve opened one premium and a few etbs plus the smaller boxes like alakazam, Zapdos etc. I’ve gotten some nice pulls including the Charizard illustrated art

Opened one today, safe to say I got good luck, alakazam ex, kangaskan ex full art, alakazam ex full art, ninetales ex, zapdos ex, arbok ex, charmander full art, switch trainer sr, and last but definitely not least full art charizard, the one where hes flying up. I feel like I've been getting a ton of luck compared to most videos I watch ( haven't watched yours yet)

I’m new on collecting TCG, already have many booster packs and ETBs but what I don’t understand is the quality check, why those centering problems?, also sometimes some weird printing issues, they are not that cheap so that could be acceptable, just it’s that part that annoys me.
I have opened 46 packs from almost exclusively booster bundle packs. I have gotten only a few regular EX (Wigglytuff, Rapidash, Jynx & Zapdos) and SAR’s for Bulbasaur, Wartortle & Tangela. The only other noticeable pull I got was the Full Art Erika’s invitation.

just open it bro. they’re under msrp literally everywhere. the product will be overprinted like everything else coming out nowadays and they won’t be worth anything for a minimum of 5-10 years. not to mention it’s one box. you hold for 8 years and sell it for less than 700$ profit? all that waiting for like maybe 2 bills? just have some fun make some memories and worry about sealed investing around black friday and when you actually accrue enough capital to even make sealed investing worth it
I feel like a 151 set would be awesome in every series or whatever you call them. I'm starting back up again, and the nostalgia is soooo real. I had a binder filled with 1999 holo's that would be worth some money rn. Of course, I have no idea where that thing went.

@@TwicebakedJakeYeah I seriously considered applying for a position there but after some research the company definitely has issues. Not a terrible place to work, but not a great one either. My main reason for not going further with applying was that they expected people to be willing to relocate for a contract based job. I'm not moving for a job that could drop me at any time.
Kinda wish someone sold like custom cards where you could put whatever picture and name you’d want, like a full on pokemon level quality Satoru gojo or Batman card would be fire

Very simple for me open it and enjoy the cards, also need the mew and mewtwo promos and then display the box 👌 if i was thinking of investment though then id keep it sealed, but im a simple guy who wouldnt know what to with alot of money so id rather just enjoy the product for myself 🙂 Also i just opened a ETB got Alakazam IR, 2 alakazam ex and a daisy help, got the mini tin collection coming tomorow i hope i get a blastoise, chari or venasaur

I couldn’t find any openings that weren’t for children ( so very high energy and loud creators which I get but it’s not my thing ) I can actually watch this video comfortably I opened my own and got 2 EXs, 2 AR, 1 full art blastoise EX, and one SAR blastoise! Of course lots of holos, reverses and a couple fancy energy

Some great pulls! I am hoping that when my premium collection comes in, I get some good pulls. Funny enough, I have had terrible pulls from the ETB, but AMAZING hits with the poster collection. In one poster box, I got SIR Charizard, SIR Blastoise, and SIR Erika. Three straight packs of SIR's. My last ETB, I didn't pull a single thing higher than a rare. Pulled 4 Vaporeon and 2 Electrodes in that single ETB. Guess I spent all my luck on the poster collection haha!
Wow, Amazing pulls my man, Bang Bang! I saw someone open this UPC on youtube and pull almost nothing from all 16 booster packs. 😅 So you got very lucky on this box though! Would love to pick one up, but I assume if you don't get them near release day, I bet they're gunna go up a good bit. Maybe I'll wait till after the hype dies down, or starts on the next product. I agree this set is amazing for the collectors who stopped but grew up with the original pokemon. This set is super nostalgic! Love all the Original pokemon. 🎉
Ya, I stopped collecting around ruby & saphire era cuz I was more into yugioh and playing with friends. I'm 83 packs deep int o the nostalgia trip and missing 5 cards for the 151 not including most of the secrets. I started collecting last week. And I've spent over $1500 on 9th gen sets. I finally gave up and ordered singles off tcgplayer so I can finish my 151, Paradox shift, Scarlet & Violet, & Obsidian Flame which should arrive in early Feb. I just started collecting paldea evolved, but now I see paldea fates is coming out along with temporal forces.
Im doing the same but will see if I keep it sealed. I haven’t bought a Pokemon card for 20 years. I took my binder of first gen cards and traded a couple venasaurs and a dark blastoise for a 100$ box straight up at a shop :D
In your experience, is it true the English card quality for Scarlet/Violet is really bad? I was considering buying the 151 Ultra Premium Box for nostalgia (haven't been into TCG since the early 2000's), but some people buying it for this exact reason aren't too happy because of poor quality. (see replies) In addition to other complaints like bad pull rates and poor value from what you're paying, but the quality thing is the main thing I'm worried about since it is all of Scarlet and Violet from what I hear?
Looks like a beautiful set. But I'm for sure that the Charizard card illustration rare is the most expensive top card and the 151 Scarlett and violet set...✍️✝️😎👍

I watch Rudy and he mentioned 151 a couple weeks ago so I got on eBay and bought 4 of these for $140 Canadian purely for the 16 packs. Now that they have arrived and gone up in value so much I'm not sure if I should open them and sell of the contents or just hold them. They won't be reoffering these upc's as part of the reprint will they?
I got zapados IR with a blank mirror holo card behind it! I call it MISSING NO 😂 Get a target red card and save 5% per pokemon purchases. Or gamestop membership brings the prices down. Got a case of 151 mini tins for less than $100

24 Packs in. I got venasaur ex, jynx ex, zapdos, alakazam, Mew, all 3 charizards, giovannis charisma and erikas SAR and the other Erika too. I think I got the best pull ever
I feel like the quality of the 151 UPC is just lack luster, compared to all previous UPCs, no drawers? Thin cardboard? Same / higher msrp? Looks ready to be manufactured for cheaper and faster... they seen how fast the other UPCs sold and now they know they should print more, still a bunch of LCS selling pre orders etc, goes to show the allocation is at an all time high, not worth the hold or buy YET, I suspect these to drop around 40$ that will be when its time to buy a few and hold for a longer term, look at the charizard UPC, better quality, cheaper now, still available at retail.
I got one last week and pulled a couple good things. Was a fun rip though. I paid 120 from gamestop i almost wanted to leave sealed but figured that stock is there.. i can only find 151 stuff at my local gamestop... so i may try and get a etb and leave it sealed now haha.

my daughter has opened I would say 30 packs and we have only had 2 illustration rares. She's got two of the alternative arts cards though that we don't pull many of. Maybe they have reduced the illustrations to maintain their value?

The box design is a step down for me. I like the unfolding apothecary desk style the others have.

I feel like a 151 set would be awesome in every series or whatever you call them. I'm starting back up again, and the nostalgia is soooo real. I had a binder filled with 1999 holo's that would be worth some money rn. Of course, I have no idea where that thing went.
This was actually my first product on 151, pulls we’re bad had 4 hits but last pack was the charizard so I was actually super pumped on it lol.

This is the first box that I have bought. I see all of the Pokemon that I loved from the TV show that I watched as a child.

@@TwicebakedJakeYeah I seriously considered applying for a position there but after some research the company definitely has issues. Not a terrible place to work, but not a great one either.
My main reason for not going further with applying was that they expected people to be willing to relocate for a contract based job. I'm not moving for a job that could drop me at any time.
My 151 UPC is in an acrylic case sitting pretty on a shelf...what a beautiful display.
I'd say buy ten, open half, then hold the other 5 for when they stop print and sell each for $1000 in 3-4 years.
I try to set my bar low, so when I don't pull anything, I don't feel as bad. But Jake you are making me get too excited to crack my UPC open.😅
Kinda wish someone sold like custom cards where you could put whatever picture and name you’d want, like a full on pokemon level quality Satoru gojo or Batman card would be fire
I just got back into collecting after a few years with some Paldean Fates to open but as a 37 year old that loved the original, these really have my attention, if you can still get them 😂

Very simple for me open it and enjoy the cards, also need the mew and mewtwo promos and then display the box 👌 if i was thinking of investment though then id keep it sealed, but im a simple guy who wouldnt know what to with alot of money so id rather just enjoy the product for myself 🙂 Also i just opened a ETB got Alakazam IR, 2 alakazam ex and a daisy help, got the mini tin collection coming tomorow i hope i get a blastoise, chari or venasaur

I opened my own and got 2 EXs, 2 AR, 1 full art blastoise EX, and one SAR blastoise! Of course lots of holos, reverses and a couple fancy energy

Some great pulls! I am hoping that when my premium collection comes in, I get some good pulls. Funny enough, I have had terrible pulls from the ETB, but AMAZING hits with the poster collection. In one poster box, I got SIR Charizard, SIR Blastoise, and SIR Erika. Three straight packs of SIR's. My last ETB, I didn't pull a single thing higher than a rare. Pulled 4 Vaporeon and 2 Electrodes in that single ETB. Guess I spent all my luck on the poster collection haha!

So you got very lucky on this box though! Would love to pick one up, but I assume if you don't get them near release day, I bet they're gunna go up a good bit. Maybe I'll wait till after the hype dies down, or starts on the next product. I agree this set is amazing for the collectors who stopped but grew up with the original pokemon. This set is super nostalgic! Love all the Original pokemon. 🎉
Ya, I stopped collecting around ruby & saphire era cuz I was more into yugioh and playing with friends. I'm 83 packs deep int o the nostalgia trip and missing 5 cards for the 151 not including most of the secrets. I started collecting last week. And I've spent over $1500 on 9th gen sets. I finally gave up and ordered singles off tcgplayer so I can finish my 151, Paradox shift, Scarlet & Violet, & Obsidian Flame which should arrive in early Feb. I just started collecting paldea evolved, but now I see paldea fates is coming out along with temporal forces.

Im doing the same but will see if I keep it sealed. I haven’t bought a Pokemon card for 20 years. I took my binder of first gen cards and traded a couple venasaurs and a dark blastoise for a 100$ box straight up at a shop :D
In your experience, is it true the English card quality for Scarlet/Violet is really bad?
I was considering buying the 151 Ultra Premium Box for nostalgia (haven't been into TCG since the early 2000's), but some people buying it for this exact reason aren't too happy because of poor quality. (see replies) In addition to other complaints like bad pull rates and poor value from what you're paying, but the quality thing is the main thing I'm worried about since it is all of Scarlet and Violet from what I hear?
I have opened 16 packs, i have pulled 1 Zapdos SIR and 1 regular kangakan ex. Thats it. Not a single IR. The rest holos and reverse holos
i don't even have a Zapdos SIR only a two regular ex... horrible rate.. worse than binder version or bundle for me.
I feel like the IRs are harder to pull than the SIRs.

I watch Rudy and he mentioned 151 a couple weeks ago so I got on eBay and bought 4 of these for $140 Canadian purely for the 16 packs. Now that they have arrived and gone up in value so much I'm not sure if I should open them and sell of the contents or just hold them.
They won't be reoffering these upc's as part of the reprint will they?

How do you know what cards to look out for when a new box comes out? Or more so what cards are valuable in a box or pack?

I agree the last set I completed was Pokemon XY Generations and I just bought a 151 box.
Never heard you talk about holding the product. Misleading title. I mean it’s fun opening packs, but video title seemed like you’d talk about reasons to not open it too.
the 6 pack 151 booster bundle box for $28 is the way to go. bigger hits IMO

I got venasaur ex, jynx ex, zapdos, alakazam, Mew, all 3 charizards, giovannis charisma and erikas SAR and the other Erika too. I think I got the best pull ever
I feel like the quality of the 151 UPC is just lack luster, compared to all previous UPCs, no drawers? Thin cardboard? Same / higher msrp? Looks ready to be manufactured for cheaper and faster... they seen how fast the other UPCs sold and now they know they should print more, still a bunch of LCS selling pre orders etc, goes to show the allocation is at an all time high, not worth the hold or buy YET, I suspect these to drop around 40$ that will be when its time to buy a few and hold for a longer term, look at the charizard UPC, better quality, cheaper now, still available at retail.
I got one last week and pulled a couple good things. Was a fun rip though. I paid 120 from gamestop i almost wanted to leave sealed but figured that stock is there.. i can only find 151 stuff at my local gamestop... so i may try and get a etb and leave it sealed now haha.
If this is produced as much as people think I don’t know if there’s much use keeping it sealed. Love the promos also

I recently got back into Pokemon after a couple years. Man, the grey border is a really bad look on the new cards. It had me disappointed at the Prerelease. We need the yellow border back asap

I do have to say it looks as if the quality of the box / insides feels a lot lesser than previous UPCs. Still a great product and can’t wait to open mine!

Just opened this and pulled the charizard secret art and venusaur secret art, as well as the machoke art rare and poliwhirl, id say i got my moneys worth!
So $50 for the promos, $20 for the playmat and $50 for 16 packs ($4.10 a pack) and a box to put my various playmats? Hella worth having gotten one.

I have one UPC preordered already! My pulls for SV 151 has been too good i’m afraid to rip more 🤣. I’ve pulled 3 SIR (Zard, Venusaur, Gio) out of 3 products (2 PC ETBs and a Poster Collection) 💀💀💀. Want to try to look for the blasty but afraid i’ve used all my luck for the year

my daughter has opened I would say 30 packs and we have only had 2 illustration rares. She's got two of the alternative arts cards though that we don't pull many of. Maybe they have reduced the illustrations to maintain their value?
At retail it is too expensive. I hope it goes for sale for the Holidays
