I haven’t. I’m not sure it would work… Give it a go. All my ceramic tiles are varnished but I’ll be doing some new tiles for a Patreon lesson soon. I might have a go with one before the varnish stage. Good question.

(Like which temperature/cone) And also, how can I avoid the blue image vanashing before I am able to fire it? (Store it somewhere dark?) Thank you very much and greetings from Austria :)
It’s a cone 3 I think. A very low fire. I think you may have to fire it fairly quickly after the wash, due to how porous ceramic is. Make sure the kiln is well ventilated, above 300c the cyanide detaches from the chemistry to release cyanotype gas. Look on insta for #cyanotypeonceramic and there are a few ceramic artists who have this down to a T. Good luck!
Hi - just wondering if I could ask a question - I’m trying to print onto a glazed tile using gelatine - it’s worked for me before, but recently I’ve been having problems with getting the image to stay on the tile after washing, when I take it out of the wash, it falls straight off! I can’t figure out what I am doing wrong 😫
@@JoHowell thank you for your help - I’ve managed to get it to stick on during wash - now it’s just a case of finding the right exposure times! Thanks again :)

Your water is probably too warm and maybe too strong. Try a super cold tray bath. Also let the gelatine dry to the touch before exposing :)
