I’m delighted you took the price into consideration even though the meal was delicious. Some people who don’t know what it’s like to have to live on a budget simply don’t understand. That’s ok. You can’t keep everyone happy but you sure try and do a great job. Thanks for this one. 👍
Many people are on a budget now, a lot are even eating £1 iceland basic ready made meals sadly. Really they need to learn how to cook and make several meals for the freezer.
The star rating you are supposed to give when reviewing needs to take into consideration all aspects of the meal. Price being one of them, product itself, service, value for money etc. Sometimes when I see 1 star reviews, that annoys me because that assumes everything was bad. Generally, those reviewers have had a bad opinion on service for example, and gave an overall rating of 1. The meal may have been good, price OK, but because for whatever reason they got bad service, they trashed the whole score. So yes, price needs to be taken into consideration as far as the overall review
This was a joy. The Steak pie was amazing and so filling. It was huge. We wished we hadn't had a starter as we couldn't finish the pie itself. We would definitely go again. We would give it a 10.
Oh my word Gary that pie looked amazingly good ! Granted there wasn't a lot of mash & the price was a little high for what I would pay but as you said, it's a tourist haven and the uniqueness of it being Guy Fawkes' birth place does "allow" them to price accordingly. My wife & love York and have been there numerous times on our 2018 & 2023 UK holidays. So much history and glorious architecture to view ! Enjoy your time away from London in "God's Country" & I look forward to your next video. Take care !
Hi Robert. Yes, the pie looked brilliant. Probably one of the nicest looking meals I've had in a long time! Appreciate that, have a good one my frined!
I don't eat meat, but I would absolutely go to this place based on the review. I'm sure they're bound to have some great veggie options too. Thanks as always Gary!
Another great review. I really like hearing about the history of the places you visit and York is steeped in history. Nice looking pie, good pastry and very hearty
Whenever we are over in the UK on vacation from Canada, we always spend a day in York, and this is our place to go to for lunch. My wife and I always have the fish butty and have never been disappointed. After seeing this review if I am back there again, it will be the steak pie for me. I love everything about this pub, the atmosphere, the beer and the food. Also considering its location I don't think the prices are too bad.
I stayed at the Guy Fawkes in overnight a few months back after visiting the pub and restaurant many times. The breakfast the next morning included in the price of the room was amazing. Thanks for sharing the video Gary.
Evening Gary 👍that was one hell of a pie. The amount of mash probably wouldn't be an issue if it had come with a bit of veg. Looked super tasty and yes maybe £15 is nearer the mark. Nice one✌️🍻
Inspired by your video Gary so my wife and I went to the Guy Fawkes when we were in York last week. She had the steak pie and I had the vegan one and they were both superb - loved them! What a meal. As you say, outrageously good, the flavour was so good! And good beer too! Thanks for the review!
We’ve just been to York for our wedding anniversary and loved this place! Brilliant staff and the place itself is so cosy and beautiful. The food was amazing and for a treat not badly priced…. We I’ll be going again!
I can say that when I visit England/UK this is exactly what I want to eat! Regarding the price, if its all made from scratch and served in a "historical" place below 20£ is quite acceptable. If it was priced under 15, I would expect prefabricated ingredients...
@mrn13 great response! I love your comment about "prefab ingredients" I am going to use that now :) lol It is so true- I don't mind paying for real food and food made right then with real ingredients- not frozen or bagged, etc. Good call :)
If you think you can cook a pie like this from scratch in less than 30 min you are dreaming. Of course they are 'prefabricated', probably part cooked and finished to order.
@@manoo422 😆Off course not- from scratch means all the elements made "in-house". If I order a 4 hour beef stew made from scratch, I dont expect to wait 4 hours for it man!
Wow, What a Pie! However unfortunately they were tight for the price... Some green beans, couple of pieces of broccoli and Cauliflower, oh & another scoop of mash! Oh & i watched the Imperial arms Sunday roast vlog you done, that was definitely a 10 👍
Yes, it was excellent! I pretty much agree with what you said. Ah yes, the Imperial Arms has an excellent Sunday Roast - one to go to if you're nearby!
Sorry, I agree about the veg but £20 for a freshly baked stunning pie at an historical pub in York?? Day out, magical day because York is that. Pay it, keep the pub and York going

Love your diversity in choice of meals, always trying something different and lots of different locations. Excellent, interesting videos, keep up the outstanding work. As always after watching one of your vids... hungry again now 😂👍
Thank you Andrew! I do try to do a few different places and not always the same as it gives a bit of variety doesn’t it? Makes it more interesting for you to watch. On the meal, yes I completely agree with you!
The pie seemed amazing. I could probably even overcome my own mushroom phobia with this too. But I completely agree with the price aspect. No pie is worth £20 in a pub and the portion of mash was really small. My grading (from look alone) would be a massive 10 for the pie but overall 7-8. I so enjoyed the review and its the only time I have seen a menu where all the food is Guy Fawkes which was a You Tube first. Thank you once again Gary for another amazing review.
Glad you enjoyed it . I love that pub but there are also many more in York that are fantastic with lots of history . Everytime l go to York l head straight to Kalpakavadi at Fossgate my favourite genuine indian restaurant in the UK... and fish and chips at Drakes.

Good video Gary again 👍.Pie looked delicious but l would have expected more mash and some veggies to accompany it,also a bit pricey for a pie in my opinion.
You've got me drooling again, Gary. That pie looked fantastic! For that price I would have liked some mashed swede included, and some English mustard. I used to spend many a weekend in York. 8/10 seems fair.
What a great venue full of history and to top it off a simple steak pie and mash. Love good pies. And yes lots of establishments scrimp on a few extra chips , mash and potatoes.. I know times are tight but the cost of a bit more mash is only pennies
That’s a really good review. The pie looks first class. I personally like mushrooms. It’s an acceptable price for the location. If Tom Kerridge or Gordon Ramsay or another TV chef baked that you would be paying £40 plus.
Hi Gary, Firstly welcome to Yorkshire, a great clip as always to which you hit the nail right on the head re prices, York is a VERY popular tourist area and the businesses know that, thus they charge accordingly, on saying that and in there defence the rates in York for businesses are very expensive. The pie itself was amazing and the fact it was cooked to order even more so, i must admit given its size, the potato amount i would of been happy with. Re your score, i think 8.5, but you were there i was not. Chris.
Hi Chris. Thanks mate. I was deliberating between 8 and 8.5 but I think the lack of mash made go towards an 8 more but it’s very close. Thanks as always for watching mate!
Wow, that pie was to die for! As I've said before I don't have a big appetite and I would have found the pie a little too large for me. Personally I would have preferred a smaller pie and more mash to create a more balanced plate of food, (with a price reduction to align with this). Regarding price, I've always found central York to be on the high side as it is a prime tourist area and vendors know they can squeeze out that little bit more from people's wallets. Another great review though!
Another great review, Mr Gary. I dare say that if the pie was 15.95 they would have added the service charge. Thank you for these videos. Always bring a smile to my day!! 🍻
Never been, but after seeing this, I have to try it, mate! But I think I will have to ask for extra mash and have a stronger beer. Fantastic to see you up in York and looking forward to more reviews from Yorkshire! Fabulous review as always, Gary and enjoy the stay in Yorkshire. 😀 BTW I would expect to pay that in York and Whitby, but not in Leeds for instance..
I had a feeling you'd like this mate, did think of you during the video! Really appreciate it, hope you're doing well. Still have Leeds on the list - Whitby will be some point next year! Cheers again :)
That is the normal strength of English beer. I drink the beer of Flanders: 7.2%. There are a number of much stronger Belgian brews. No Tennants Super T or Carlsberg Special wife beater brews here!
What a brilliant find not forgetting what a beautiful looking Pie 👌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Got to factor in- location, style of restaurant, ingredients used and the time taken to create a quality, homemade dish as well as skill level. It was a pie not lacking, portioned perfectly- I would imagine if you had more on the plate you would be unable to move,so the chef has shown skill experience and mindfulness in his plate.
Evening Gary, another pub/ restaurant crammed with history and character. That pie looked amazingly tasty 😊 Very small portion of mashed potatoes 😢I found the " garnish " a very strange mixture 😮. A vegetable would have been nice😊.I'm not a political person, and the fact they(?) failed to blow up Parliament, as my teachers said " must try harder "Before the price, another son of York Dick Turpin ( a real highwayman)by the way hung as a horse thief, and not as a highwayman, using his mums maiden name😢I digress. For a pie 🥧 however good, still top heavy 😢 A good first stop on our journey. Again CTP should have been out & about on the Knavesmire getting the local flavours, well he can't get it on expenses 😢To the gallows, and the next stop 🛑 😊❤Allan&Family
Looked delicious, the pastry almost looked like a hot water crust like you’d get on a pork pie, once again I’d maybe like a side of veg, but that pie was certainly packed with ingredients. Enjoy York and look forward to more of your epicurean foodie adventures
The pie looked amazing gary,i think you are spot on with your score,if it had a more hearty serving of mash and maybe some green beans it would have made for a really decent meal
You pricing is spot on . 1595 . Perfect ! You, that eat all over the place, knows how to compare and analyse. You are discerning about value and cooking skills . Most people might eat out once a month and dont compare the apples to the pears . We trust your judgement implicitly. You are fair and sometimes very overly generous , as the restaurants are struggling to make a living . Survival of the fittest . I ,like many others , honed my cooking skills , and prefer my own food now .
I remember staggering out of York District Hospital in a daze after my wife had given birth to my son and straight into this pub for a pint and a whisky! Always a fondness for the place but it’s a bit of a tourist trap so generally avoid it unfortunately. Can’t deny pie looked great though!
I've passed by the Guy Fawkes but have never gone in to eat. The pie looked great, although I would have liked a bigger helping of mash, as well as peas. Just a short walk from there is the Royal Oak. They also do a great steak pie, along with mash and peas. Great video. 👍
At that price i think i would have expected some vegetables on the plate. I do love a pie and would ddefinitely try it if i go to York. Thanks for another great review.
The pie looks spot and it didn't come with chips but mash. Mash could have been a larger portion and a bit creamier but still preferable in my opinion to chips. Don't think cost was all that bad when you consider it's in a tourist City and you weren't forced to stump up a predetermined service charge. I think £20 for such a quality pie this acceptable considering what I've just said. Score 9.5/10.
£19.50 for a "fresh home made" pie & mash, isn't expensive if you enjoyed it. Who pays the staff, the rates, the electricity, gas and water bills, the decorations. Pubs don't make any money on beer and drinks because nobody can afford it, they have to make money on the food. If you want a cheap pie go to Gregg's eat their rubbish.
I don’t have many complaints with the price but when doing a review, I have to factor price in. Pie excellent, mash a little small and no veg. Thanks for watching!
It’s extortion what they charge these days I know only too we’ll living and working in Dublin City ,same problems “it’s taking the piss!, it’s a rear treat for family’s now , and just not an option for some at all these days .saying that the food did look quality , maybe a bit skimpy on the veg though
This is what I miss here in Florida. Steak pie and also steak puddings. Good fish and chips I can get but too many British themed menu restaurants have gone out of business
@@GaryEats I found you today and I love watching rate the food/place/price streams..no 🐃💩 reviews with down to earth honesty without being too harsh....Its a thumbs up and new subscriber..ty Julie 🎉
Love a good pie and that looks top tier. The gravy and the steak look lovely, rich and tender. I know you normally have a coke but good to see you sample the local beers (I myself am a cider drinker) but to each his own. Another great review - "Cheers!"
Afternoon Gary another great vlog, love your vlogs. Pie looked nice but too much gravy for my liking. and it looks hot too. I make a mean meat pie and enjoy a pie. Bit pricey for a pie! however in tourist area bound to be pricey. Thank you Gary.
I'm about to order some of them. My local French supermarket has stopped doing them. They used to have a good English section, but now rubbish. Their buyer hasn't a clue.
@@pippin1fulSince Brexit our UK sections have all but disappeared. There’s stuff I’ve never heard of. Products I still thanks to some really kind shop managers include Marmite and proper cheddar cheese. I immigrated in 2008, or rather stayed after a year’s sabbatical. I do miss stuff, most of it in the food department. But my French girlfriend and I make a steak and ale pie. Also in autumn a chicken and freshly picked forest mushroom pie. For the mushrooms you have to know your stuff (I was a survival expert in the army specialising in fungi). I know Gary doesn’t like mushrooms 😊. Good luck finding Fray Bentos. One of my all time favourite foods.
Evening Gary , what a delicious looking pie . Two things, you mentioned the Royal Standard in Beaconsfield . The sausages which you had were probably made from organic pork , the mash might have been made from freshly baked potatoes, and the onions probably gently cooked in the butter for around 50-60 minutes to properly bring out their flavour. Right so today you’re in York in the aptly named Guy Fawkes public house trying out their steak pie. My guess , to get meat cooked very tender it takes a very long time. Taking into account where the Chef is putting his skill , sourcing, adding, tasting is in itself a true accolade .. In both places of very similar quality and surroundings . I would easily have paid the money and a Mr. Andrew Baker has pipped me to the real point. Love your show. Good luck and God bless. ❤
Ah, I'm gutted that I must have missed that. I saw Drake's but decided to do something else but didn't see Thomsons. The good news is that I'm going back soon so can do then!
Yes, I think that was a fair rating. We've stayed at The Guy Fawkes several times and enjoyed their breakfasts too. And we liked the pie. Have you tried Piecaramba! in Winchester? A tiny place doing awesome pies At £13.50 including sides and gravy or liquor. Well worth it.
Hey Gary, great vlog once again. Totally understand your marking -1 for mash paltry portion and -1 for no veg accompaniment. Pie looked lovely but the rest a little disapointing, keep up the good work, really enjoyable to watch and always consistent unlike so many others on you tube 👍
That bitter looked nice. I like weak beer and then drink more of it.😁 I would have liked some nice lightly buttered cabbage with it. Crusty bread and butter for the gravy. The pie looked absolutely superb. Packed with steak. And an excellent crust. I think £20 is over the top for the pie. I agree with your estimate . Due to the price I am taking off 1 point and 1 for the small portion of mash. Brilliant review as always.
Can't have too many of those weak beers Andrew otherwise it becomes a problem, lol. Spot on with your assessment (I would say that as I said the same haha). Thank you mate!
For the preparation of the pie I would happily pay the 20 sovs. I was pleased to see it didn't fall apart all over the place when the knife was taken to it, so well prepared and cooked was the pastry. I'm sure the meal would have filled most people up so the just enough helping of mashed potato wasn't for me an issue. A really nice meal, that... and reasonably priced ale too. Well done.
That's amazing! My Dad was wounded in Africa and brought to England on a hospital ship and was taken in by an English family until he was healed enough to go back. He raved about the steak and kidney pie they served at some point. Now I can see what he means.
Gary, I agree with your comments, that was one big pie and tasty with it, but the price was a bit over the top and the portion of mash was quite small. As others have mentioned below a better balance could be achieved between the two. York is an expensive area to eat in having been there myself and it's good to see that no service charge was added. As for your marking, I felt it was slightly harsh and I would have given an 8.5 out of 10. The overall price including the beer was quite decent though. Having a lager with that meal instead of a beer in London could have easily added anywhere between £7 to £10 just for the lager alone to the bill. Great review though and I wasn't aware of this place until I saw your review, great work and keep them coming.
HS2 is Britain’s new zero carbon, high-speed railway, and the UK’s flagship transport levelling up project. It is the biggest rail investment ever made in the North of England and is Europe’s largest infrastructure project. Major civil engineering works are now underway with £23 billion contracted into the supply chain and around 350 active sites between the West Midlands and London, supporting almost 30,000 jobs, delivering benefits before a single train has started running. The new high-speed line will run between the North West and the South East, stopping at Manchester, Birmingham and London with trains continuing on the existing network to Scotland and elsewhere. In total, over 250 miles of new high-speed line is planned across the country, including: HS2 Phase One (linking London, Birmingham and the West Midlands); HS2 Phase 2a (extending the line to Crewe); HS2 Phase 2b (completing the line to Manchester); HS2 East (linking the West and East Midlands with services to Sheffield and Leeds); and Northern Powerhouse Rail (with a high-speed link between Warrington and Yorkshire that relies on HS2 Phase 2b infrastructure). The first HS2 services will run between Birmingham Curzon Street and Old Oak Common in London between 2029 and 2033 and expand as new sections of the network are built.

What a great venue full of history and to top it off a simple steak pie and mash. Love good pies. And yes lots of establishments scrimp on a few extra chips , mash and potatoes.. I know times are tight but the cost of a bit more mash is only pennies
I really like venues that have a bit of history behind them and this is one of them. I agree with you!
That’s a really good review.
The pie looks first class.
I personally like mushrooms.
It’s an acceptable price for the location.
If Tom Kerridge or Gordon Ramsay or another TV chef baked that you would be paying £40 plus.
You’re spot on Glenn 🤣
.......that pie looked incredible. The price reflected the venue in this case. I'm a sucker for historical pubs. 😎🌟
Me too 👍🏼👍🏼
Love the shirt very sharp 😸
It really brings out the blue in his eyes 😻
Thank you Sean! Makes a change from the disasters that are my outfits. Haha.
Hahaha thank you Aurora.
Hi Gary,
Firstly welcome to Yorkshire, a great clip as always to which you hit the nail right on the head re prices, York is a VERY popular tourist area and the businesses know that, thus they charge accordingly, on saying that and in there defence the rates in York for businesses are very expensive.
Indeed Nigel. Thank you!
Great channel Gary - I love how you take everything into account - presentation, flavour, value for money, ambience etc. That pie looks amazing 😋😋😋
Thank you kindly Roger.
Looked like there was a lot of eating in that pie and beautifully presented too👍
Was an excellent pie, Sheila. Thanks for watching!
Another great review, Mr Gary. I dare say that if the pie was 15.95 they would have added the service charge. Thank you for these videos. Always bring a smile to my day!! 🍻
Thank you!!
Ty for this one ! I will go here . Wow a Pie and a Pint say no more.
It’s cooked to order as well
What a brilliant find not forgetting what a beautiful looking Pie 👌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Got to factor in- location, style of restaurant, ingredients used and the time taken to create a quality, homemade dish as well as skill level. It was a pie not lacking, portioned perfectly- I would imagine if you had more on the plate you would be unable to move,so the chef has shown skill experience and mindfulness in his plate.
Glad you enjoyed it and thank you! I really agree with your assessment as well!
That pie looked lovely and I loved the cure in the background!
Agreed Glenn!
LoL. Let alone 'The Fine Young Cannibals' 😊
Evening Gary, another pub/ restaurant crammed with history and character. That pie looked amazingly tasty 😊 Very small portion of mashed potatoes 😢I found the " garnish " a very strange mixture 😮. A vegetable would have been nice😊.I'm not a political person, and the fact they(?) failed to blow up Parliament, as my teachers said " must try harder "Before the price, another son of York Dick Turpin ( a real highwayman)by the way hung as a horse thief, and not as a highwayman, using
his mums maiden name😢I digress. For a pie 🥧 however good, still top heavy 😢 A good first stop on our journey. Again CTP should have been out & about on the Knavesmire getting the local flavours, well he can't get it on expenses 😢To the gallows, and the next stop 🛑 😊❤Allan&Family
Thanks Allan. Hope you're doing well, glad you liked the Pie. If you say it's good, it's definitely good!
Dick Turpin ended his days in York but was born and raised in Essex.
@@steved7961 I bow to your greater knowledge. But I think his horse was local??
@@AllanNeaves-qn3zrThanks. Unlike Dick, I was actually born in York and wish I were still there.
@@steved7961 Always have a goal in life. A small lottery win could help.Or become a Highwayman! Stay safe and dream Allan&Family
I actually stayed there, when in York. Nice rooms, and a great view.
I too had the lie. It was very nice, but a little pricey.
That’s great to hear and a little fib is no issue 😂
Looked delicious, the pastry almost looked like a hot water crust like you’d get on a pork
pie, once again I’d maybe like a side of veg, but that pie was certainly packed with ingredients. Enjoy York and look forward to more of your epicurean foodie adventures
Thank you Karen. More uploads coming over the next few days!
Looked absolutely amazing. I do wish these places would put the gravy in a boat so you can choose whether you like it and how much you want to add.
Yeah too rite man got to have plenty of gravy
That's a great idea. I think it would be better to give people the option!
I was thinking my self the pie is now drenched . Already gravy in the pie
The pie looked amazing gary,i think you are spot on with your score,if it had a more hearty serving of mash and maybe some green beans it would have made for a really decent meal
Thanks Simon. Agreed!
Sprouting broccoli would be nice steeped in butter.
Very kind. Thank you and I don't blame you.
I remember staggering out of York District Hospital in a daze after my wife had given birth to my son and straight into this pub for a pint and a whisky!
Always a fondness for the place but it’s a bit of a tourist trap so generally avoid it unfortunately.
Can’t deny pie looked great though!
The pie and location was truly excellent. Glad to hear you've also been (albeit in much more celebratory circumstances)!
Looked a great pie Gary certainly made with love , not sure I’d pay £19
Tho bit steep , great vid mate 👍
Thanks Mark 👍
Guy Fawkes had the right idea looking at all politicians these days! Superb video again. £19.95 for that isnt bad the pie was chock full of meat
We need a new guy fawkes
He was a terrorist you clown! Like the IRA! Fenian sympathiser!
Thank you my friend, I really appreciate it!
I've passed by the Guy Fawkes but have never gone in to eat. The pie looked great, although I would have liked a bigger helping of mash, as well as peas. Just a short walk from there is the Royal Oak. They also do a great steak pie, along with mash and peas. Great video. 👍
Thanks Gary. I love York, I think it's a beautiful city. Glad you enjoyed the video!
These days I wish Mr. Fawkes had been successful.
I no longer celebrate bonfire night as it goes against my current beliefs 😂
Need another guy Fawkes but a successful one !!!
100%👍
At that price i think i would have expected some vegetables on the plate. I do love a pie and would ddefinitely try it if i go to York. Thanks for another great review.
A very good point Robert but the pie was excellent 👌
The pie looks spot and it didn't come with chips but mash. Mash could have been a larger portion and a bit creamier but still preferable in my opinion to chips. Don't think cost was all that bad when you consider it's in a tourist City and you weren't forced to stump up a predetermined service charge. I think £20 for such a quality pie this acceptable considering what I've just said. Score 9.5/10.
That’s fair enough John. A brilliant pie, no service charge but I will say the lack of mash moved it down a little. Cheers for watching!
Still catching up on older reviews Gazza. That pie 🥧 looked so delicious. Tracey xx 🇦🇺❤️😘🥂👍
Thank you very much, Tracey x❤️🇦🇺
me too 😂❤❤❤
£19.50 for a "fresh home made" pie & mash, isn't expensive if you enjoyed it.
I agree with you 100%
I agree expensive
It’s extortion what they charge these days I know only too we’ll living and working in Dublin City ,same problems “it’s taking the piss!, it’s a rear treat for family’s now , and just not an option for some at all these days .saying that the food did look quality , maybe a bit skimpy on the veg though
Good value no rubbish there don't need no more potato or veg it's the pie your after
That Pie has just concluded my deciding of the next place for a short weekend break very soon. All the best to you.
Thanks, you too!
This is what I miss here in Florida. Steak pie and also steak puddings. Good fish and chips I can get but too many British themed menu restaurants have gone out of business
This was an excellent pie, Philip
Cant beat pie n mash, looked yummy, the pie was huge,i think for a treat i would pay that for the quality plus a good portion too🎉 ty for staring 🎉
So good. You are welcome!
@@GaryEats I found you today and I love watching rate the food/place/price streams..no 🐃💩 reviews with down to earth honesty without being too harsh....Its a thumbs up and new subscriber..ty Julie 🎉
Thank you!! Very kind of you Julie :)
Love a good pie and that looks top tier. The gravy and the steak look lovely, rich and tender. I know you normally have a coke but good to see you sample the local beers (I myself am a cider drinker) but to each his own. Another great review - "Cheers!"
Thanks my friend. Have to agree, it was brilliant!
Afternoon Gary another great vlog, love your vlogs. Pie looked nice but too much gravy for my liking. and it looks hot too. I make a mean meat pie and enjoy a pie. Bit pricey for a pie! however in tourist area bound to be pricey. Thank you Gary.
Looks absolutely delicious Gary. Speaking as a massive fan of the Fray Bentos tinned pies.
It was an excellent pie 🥧
Pie looked delicious but expensive…. Great video again thank you Gary 💕
Thank you for watching!
Much praise to the excellent photographer.
Very kind
Hello there. Yep, completely understand your point and I have no complaints about the pie. It was excellent! Thank you and you too!
York is a brilliant city, I went there last April for a long weekend and loved it.
It's a wonderful place.
Thomsons fish and chips, onion rings, bits. The best in the world.
Malton road, Hazelbush, York.
YO3TW
Great show tonight
Thank you Lee. Appreciate that mate!
That's a good looking pie and yet again Gary another honest review love your videos
Glad you like them!
Great looking pie Gary. I am so hungry. Margaret
Absolutely 👍a bit of greenage to go with that but I don't think I'd be man enough to eat crusty bread with the gravy after eating that pie🤣
Can't have too many of those weak beers Andrew otherwise it becomes a problem, lol. Spot on with your assessment (I would say that as I said the same haha).
Thank you mate!
in York a lot,.. another for us to try,. pie looks superb
This is definitely worth a visit for the pie, what I like is it’s cooked to order
Gary always starts by shaking his head if he’s about to praise his nosh 😀
Sorry John
@@GaryEats LOL no need to apologise. It all adds to the fun. Great video by the way. That pie looked incredible.
Well done.
Thank you Stagger. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, maybe another to add to your list after Bombay Delight? Cheers mate!
@@GaryEats Well, if ever I'm in York I will hunt down that pie, Gary, even if I get lost trying! Thanks again!
No problem. Hope you're well.
I go in this pub regularly for a a pint or two after work meetings, never eaten there though. I will give it a try. Great Review.
Thank you it’s definitely worth a try especially the pie
Hi gary the steak pie and trimmings albeit Guy Fawkes home makes a 10 🎉 💥
Thank you very much
Pie Fawkes. Love the reviews.
I'm annoyed with myself I didn't say that haha. Really appreciate that my friend!
That's amazing! My Dad was wounded in Africa and brought to England on a hospital ship and was taken in by an English family until he was healed enough to go back. He raved about the steak and kidney pie they served at some point. Now I can see what he means.
This was excellent Jeff, I should have scored it more in hindsight 👍
Looked delicious, particularly with the bitter👍
So good. The pie was one of the best. Thanks for watching!
That looks delicious. I'm getting indigestion looking at it, but still. It looks delicious 🤤🤤🤤🤤
Lol. Absolutely how I felt!
Looks awesome!! I watched another piece review of yours and this food is way better.
Agreed! This was great
Gary, I agree with your comments, that was one big pie and tasty with it, but the price was a bit over the top and the portion of mash was quite small.
In total, over 250 miles of new high-speed line is planned across the country, including:
HS2 Phase One (linking London, Birmingham and the West Midlands);
HS2 Phase 2a (extending the line to Crewe);
HS2 Phase 2b (completing the line to Manchester);
HS2 East (linking the West and East Midlands with services to Sheffield and Leeds); and
Northern Powerhouse Rail (with a high-speed link between Warrington and Yorkshire that relies on HS2 Phase 2b infrastructure).
The first HS2 services will run between Birmingham Curzon Street and Old Oak Common in London between 2029 and 2033 and expand as new sections of the network are built.
£19.95 knocks the sox off that £37 + service charge for a fried fish at Harrords. Quality, quality pie. Keep up the great posts.
Spot on. Thank you Duncan!
That pie looked amazing, so big and chunky. X
It was cooked to order which was fantastic Nicole xx
