What has happened to 2 Timothy 3:16? Why must the people let the "scholars and the theologians" sort it out? To make such a statement only reveals that the Word of God is not the Foundation that they are building on. It is not their Guide and Counsellor. "In the multitude of Counsellors there is safety..." Proverbs 24:6. "Thy Testimonies also are my... Counsellors" Psalms 119:24. Even the Protestant churches are becoming like the papacy; It is not what the Scriptures, sola scriptura, say that is their guide, but what the church manual says. In many churches the church manual has greater authority than the Word of God Itself. That is Spiritualism.
