I'm so glad you recorded the VL Etudes! Excellent job! Not many good recordings of the Etudes exist except for Barrueco's which are absolutely stellar! Villa-Lobos was a genius and so creative! These pieces are beautiful, moody and frantic at times. You are extremely talented!!! I'd love to hear you play some Barrios!

What is with the difficult to figure out harmonic notation on etude 1 near the end. I have never seen it noted like this before. Anyone know what it means?
2 years late but the notes with 'o' on the top are harmonics (villa lobos had his own method for noting harmonics that differed to that of Tarrega. Most people use Tarrega's these days as it's more consistent than villa lobos's) and the notes at the very end that are small are used to show the chord as an arpeggio with the notes over ringing, this is used rather than the usual symbol as the tempo changes to lento so the player can be perfectly in time.

No sé a qué te refieres exactamente con paralelismo, pero estoy de acuerdo en, que no se debería tocar tan rápido. Entiendo que es para practicar la velocidad de la mano derecha, pero el tempo es allegro non troppo, no presto xd. E igual ocurre con otros estudios.

The indication for the first etude is "allegro MA NON TROPPO" not "troppo allegro". Ehy man slow down
