Yes, the kid caused this series of events, but legally, the problem is WHEN they shot him. They didn't shoot him when he pointed it. A cop shot him while he was on the ground after another cop tackled him and punched him.
This poor child was an altar boy and and a straight-A student who volunteered with the blind and the elderly. He was out at night doing charitable work. He ran from the police because he had to deliver an old person's heart medicine. Every time police confront an adult who draws a gun, police shoot even while lying on top of the perpetrator, because no police officer is under any obligation to risk his or her life to manually disarm a perpetrator armed with a firearm. Here was exactly the same situation. The age of the perpetrator has absolutely no importance, a gun is a gun, it kills the same, regardless of who pulls the trigger.
