I've been playing thru all the Yakuza games and just beat Like a Dragon Gaiden today, so i'm all caught up with Kiryu's journey. Been watching your vids along the way to remind me of details I forgot. Just wanna say thanks for these vids and the time you put in for them!

To be fair, he is playing dumb because the deal he and the Daidoji worked out is that if he's recognized, the deal's off, and the Orphans are screwed (as is he but Kiryu tends to be crazy enough to endure full armies)

Let’s goooooo!! This game was a really cool way of ending and joining the two main storylines. Only complaint was that it was the Tojo dissolving and not Akames shirt, if you know what I’m saying, but maybe in Infinite Wealth.

I’m glad I discovered your channel. I love your narration and can’t stop laughing every time you mention Kiryu letting people “catch these hands” lol. This series is awesome and Kiryu is one of THE BEST characters. I really like Ichiban too so the series is in good hands. Don’t get me wrong I was worried when learning Kiryu wasn’t the main character anymore but after playing the first like a dragon I was relieved to see that Kiryu’s successor is a good character. I’ve played them all but your videos were a GREAT recap before Infinite Wealth so I just wanted to thank you for the time and effort. You have a new subscriber in me because you’re a big Kiryu fan too lol. I hope you can keep making awesome videos like these because your narration style is good and fun
Also don’t hate on our boy Kiryu’s disguise. He has the same elaborate identity concealer as Superman lol. Only Kiryu and Superman can pull off something so elaborately simple

This game was non stop kickass all the way through. The ending got me so excited when Shishido got captured by the Daidoji to make him an agent like Kiryu. I wonder if we'll see him in future games or if he'll even get his own Gaiden game
Would be a bummer if he doesnt come back considering the emphasis they put on that cliff hanger.

Like you mentioned Gaiden is the perfect game leading up to Infinite Wealth. The final stage and that end. Wow! I'm glad I finished just in time before the next ge comes out.
Sidenote. ichin ban is also a great protagonist. He might not have a legend like Kiryu but is still our new hero.

Also, it occurs to me: I wonder if Hanawa was the guy who worked in Kiryu's old Taxi company? (I say that since the one theorized doesn't have the same kind of body shape and general size, compared to Kiryu)
Did the taxi company know him as kiryu? I also question how someone like the taxi manager would join the daidoji? Not saying your wrong, but morinaga makes more sense to me personally.
@@LaMuerteBlanca Originally no but he could easily have been in the same world , a Taxi Company is a good front for shady business of a number of different sorts. But, Morinaga seems to be a popular theory so I could well be wrong.

Also, while I know you will soon have Infnite Wealth to eventually work on, have you ever considered looking at the Metal Gear Solid series? It is something you'd need to be ready for given the labryinthine tendencies of Hideo Kojima and his plots but I am still curious what your take would be on the series.
I have considered it and with the remakes coming out im starting to look into it more. I have a couple games in my backlog i want to play and explain first, but MGS is definitely on my list.
@@LaMuerteBlanca That's fair. Another game which I think would be interesting to see your take on (and is less risking of exposure to Elder-thing level damage to sanity) , is Sleeping Dogs.. I admit, it was the Yakuza story reviews which called my attention to your channel , but I'll have to sit down at some point to check out the other content (I do include Judgement and Lost Judgement as well as Lost Judgement's DLC in the Yakuza umbrella).

@@Warrickomega there's a bunch of different variables that make it hard to answer that question, but depending on the length of the game and how crazy my life is at any given point, id say about a month. Faster when schools not in session (im a teacher).

Never played the like a dragon games cause of the turned based system but Gaiden is an exception
Gaiden uses the old combat style. The 'Like a Dragon' Nomenclature is to signify its position in the series.
There's only 2 turn based Yakuza/Like a Dragon games. The rest of them are beat em up games.
You are missing out by not playing Ichiban game
Private cool yoga studios for business and social membership libraries and so forth. Regarding making yoga and martial arts masters seem really cool. Same with spiritual science of story telling. Thus, it's a Yoga-coup. The context would be a Yakuza member having a mini-coup car and it is stolen by someone who has their name deleted (the man was a woman? Translation context about how Man means human but shortened like the who/ hu is dropped). It would make a really interesting storyline fourth wall breaking about sales transactions and private property negotiations when it is stolen regarding how special forces groups would verify that the insurance claim is settled by regional management agreements without using courts or being public by the assumption of what stealing a minicoup would mean. Something like a preschool negotiation.
Regarding how the metaphors in real life aren't the same as within the video games. Thus, the context of the stupidity of the games and social societies of the games when most persons overlook the truth of the value of the content; like the only focus/ samadhi is about yoga. Being a yoga gang about making karma banking operations for social status of shaman's and events of story telling. Regarding economy routines and simulations while being an outsider through karma balance patterns represented as contracts through yoga studios...
Thus language and metaphor for body position and social status of yoga mats. Like a yoga mat is like a skateboard branded skateboard meaning a localized pattern of value within the social systems; like a name brand is a lifestyle culture more than it is just a label. Regarding the different games in real life patterns and codes for transaction processes...

Infinite as a whole is probably top 3 RGG games for me. Story was pretty good. It's no yakuza 0 but i was engaged the entire time.

Yeah, kiryu's new voice isn't great. 😬 Played LaD in english since i thought the other VA's did a great job but ill probably switch back to eng sub in infinite wealth with kiryu having a much larger role.

If you don’t own the gamepass I don’t think this game is a must buy. 40 bucks for 7-8 hours of story and a bunch of side quests sounds like glorified dlc and same thing mw3 is doing
I agree GP is the way to go here but definitely wouldn't compare it to the atrocity of mw3. I think theres a decent amount of content here for a yakuza fan and i heard you can unlock special infinite wealth cutscenes by playing this game. Definitely more incentive and a cheaper price when compared to mw3.
@@LaMuerteBlanca it’s a demo after you beat the game but when you beat the game there’s no premium adventure so you have to have a save before the final part. Makes since but wished it went past like a dragon but before infinite wealth in a cutscene I didn’t end playing the last part because it’s around the like a dragon part of the timeline and haven’t beat the game yet so don’t wanna spoil that part
