I got really emotional watching this! So amazing 🎉
I was swinging from excitement to nerves to depression when I thought it wasn't going to happen, to ridiculous elation when she made it!!
My 8 year old daughter wouldn't go to bed until she found out if Jasmin had made it, clock ticked over to 21:17 and I was certain the next Keith Dunn post was going to be the Barkley marathons are over....
Now Jasmin Paris sits alongside Taylor Swift in my daughter's life, even if just for a short while.

I thought it was just me, ha haa. I had tears in my eyes just reading the report yesterday. Then i watched the film barkley marathons: the race that eats it's young' & i was even more blow away by what jasmine had done. Absolutely incredible.
An absolutely unbelievable achievement by Jasmin on top of her fantastic Montane Spine win…. I just hope she gets the ‘main stream’ recognition that she deserves, this is historic! 👏👏👏👏

Laz has always believed a woman can do it. He says what he says to tongue in cheek that no one really understands what he’s saying.
He actually said in 2023 he was relying on Jasmine to put the woman finisher to bed
She didn't, because it's fictional, hence the dramatic finish. Yawn, the guurl power narrative, Laz took a few dollars to play along.

This amazing athlete deserves the highest honour for that achievement,what words can describe the willpower,fitness and mental power to finish the race and create history,I know it's not a very well known event but congratulations to everyone who took part and of course especially Jasmin Paris ,what an inspiration and a star.
AMAZING! I was so stoked when I read that she finished that I yelled out loud and woke up my GF. She was sour for about ten seconds, and then was almost choked up
(She's a runner, I am not really, compared to her)...
This is a wonderful, historic moment, not only in ultra running, or on running, period... but in sport in general. Paris has done the hardest possible thing for any person to do- the barely possible. (I'd like to think I know what that is like, in a completely different context... Not that I've done any like THIS!)

I'm bummed there isn't live coverage but wow A woman finisher is just pure epicness. I had no idea it was this week. also apparently im just a casual but looking forward to watching more video and more podcasts on this woman! Im dealing with sciatic nerve pain so this keeps me hopeful that ill be back racing soon.
I had a sciatic nerve issue about 10 years ago. My left leg is still quite numb down one side!

Only 20 people have ever finished it?! 😮 This is staggering beyond words, this has to be the greatest mental challenge on earth, and on that aspect blokes don't have an advantage I guess. Stoked for her! Massive respect to everyone who even entered this 🤗
Yeah, definetally watch the documentary, it shows how truly epic this race is. Not a single runner finished it the first years.
It was impossible for years. The course is slightly easier now. By impossible I mean impossible. GPS has helped as well
@@HuplesCatThey don't use any GPS devices, they only get a normal stopwatch so that they know how much time has elapsed and a paper map with the route description from Laz. That's all, no modern gadgets allowed. It's an insane race distance with the elevation of climbing Mount Everest twice and the navigation task to find 9-15 books as checkpoints in the wilderness.
