One of the things that I like best about you is that you always make me feel like I can do things. Watching your tutorials, I never think "Wow, that is so beyond my reach, I have no skill, I suck." Maybe this is because you are such a great teacher, I don't know. Thanks for another great video!
You can do the things, Diana!! We all start somewhere and sometimes you have to crawl before you can run a marathon, to put it in extreme terms :) baby steps!!
I love love that green one ! The green is so bitchen. You really do have to use all them colors and they all show up too. Gorgeous. I have no nail polish but i do have many metalic acrylics. Hope they will work as well.
Hi Yvonne! I've been watching your videos for a while now. I love your work with these eyes using cabochons or glass gems! 😁 I've been trying to do these myself. I am getting the hang of it. I was just wondering if you could make more videos like this? Thanks and have a great day.
Everytime you make one of these, I just watch in pure amazement. I am going to try this...I would like to make a green one. My cat has green eyes & I just love them....would like to make a pendant. Just need to get my nerve up.
Same here but I want to do it, all I have to do is get the glass things, and some metallic nail polishes. I want to do one in an Icy blue colour and a fiery red-orange. You can do it!! Go for gold and remember that it won't be perfect until you have had a fair bit of practice. Good luck!!
Addicted to your videos and the calm demeanor you have! Your voice is very similar(IMO) to Robin Moses, here on UA-cam. Another artist who uses a unique platform for her artistry. The tool you use for the black part? What is it called? If I can't find that tool, what can I use in it's place? In addition to the one you use to "scrape"? It looks like a tool for wood carving. What can I use that will have similar affects without breaking the old pocketbook? Thank you x 100!
Hey, Cutezpie! I will have to check her out! The tool I am using for the pupil is an awl, you can use a thick needle or a tooth pick :) the one I use to scrape is a flat wood carving chisel, they are super affordable on amazon or from a hobby lobby/michaels
Very cool! Are all the colors from the same set of polish? In what order did you use these? And do you recommend one type of polish over another, ie ;lacquer over gel?
Greetings Luv😊The tool Lady Yvonne uses is an awl. You can also use dental picks (metal ones), needles, Xacto knife, box cutter blades(carefully of course),wires, or any thing Hon with an edge. I use all of these techniques because each design, plus the polishes you use shoe different colors, and designs..Plus it's Hella Fun Too!!!🥰🥰🥰
Hi, Von. Have you ever tried setting one of the eyes in polymer clay? I imagine the glass would hold up to being baked, but am not sure about the nail polish. Warnings and tips appreciated.
Heya! I have baked them, and they seem to do really well; the only problems I have had are some of my yellow polishes darken down a bit. I do make sure to let the polish dry and cure completely before baking, to avoid any bubbling
Yvonne, can you please make a video where you paint these eyes but using acrylic paint? Because I remembered you saying I could use acrylic paint but I couldn't do it. They always mix together instead of sitting on top of each other...
Kristina Davis My first one I did watching her video and pausing to catch up. After, I've done them from process, working out to in, dark to light. I had a friend that wanted me to make these so she could sell them, but that friendship recently ended.
Kristina Davis Just keep trying. I got cheap bag glass I will start practicing on again. Just got too many projects as is, including one using these lol
Hey, Kristina and David! This is not uncommon; I think what happens is you are getting a better eye for what you are doing, and that can make you hyperaware of "flaws" or "mistakes" be sure to be patient with yourself; practice makes progress! When you are looking at a piece and you aren't happy find one thing specifically that you don't like about it and work on that one thing; for me I am often unhappy with how my pupils tend to be very lopsided, so I focus on that to try to improve. As long as you are having fun and it brings you joy, keep at it! :)
Yvonne Williams Thanks. I wish I knew where to send you pictures of the eyes/project. The flaws I see with mine are the lack of clear sharp thin "rays" of color. Most are just......there..... I may just need more tools to sharpen the lines. It's still fun to do. Last eye I made was 7 color.

This tutorial made so much more sense. The results are beautiful and you didn’t need to put on and scratch off 15 layers of paint. 😊
I just said she did need to. All thecolors showed .
Nice job on this video. I especially appreciated your showing the color of each polish. Thank you!

Me too,, however, I have always wanted to be like Liz Taylor with her violet eyes!
Hey I saw you using the awl! glad you could use it!
Its my new favorite!! the point is perfect and it makes me happy every time I pick it up :)
Renee Hay , where did you get that awl?

Can you do a video on placing the dragon’s eye in a pendant for a necklace and a link to the supplies? I love your technique!
Hey, Patricia! I will do that!

Can you put polymer clay on the glass eye with fingernail polish and bake it afterwards

Thank you, Jackie!!
Your work is truly inspiring Yvonne !!! 🌞❤❤❤

Sure, Khang!
I just had a request for a pale silvery blue eye mounted in silver and crystals. I'll let you know how it turns out.
ooo, that sounds like it will be lovely!!
love this one
Yay!!
I love ❤️ it love it 😍
Yay!!
Where can I buy the crystal balls that you use?
What size is the cab? Beautiful, as always!
30 mm , look under show more, there is a link where you can buy plain ones.
T Green is right, Rena, is a 30mm :) I am glad you like it!
I recently received some 30mm glass cabs and really like the size. Not so big as to be very heavy and big enough to paint the eye easily. Love them.
Hi Yvonne! What is the red brush you are using?
Hey, Jean! It is a fine tip nylon bristle brush :)
what is being used to spread the color?
You definitely have this down to a fine science. I've made a total of 5 eyes myself, I seem to be getting worse lol
I thought it was just me, lol. I seem to be getting worse, too.
