In this beginner-friendly class, I share my favorite techniques for painting six beautiful flowers: zinnia, rose, peony, hydrangea, lily, and dahlia.
In each lesson, we walk step-by-step through the creation of one bloom, building up layers of color with acrylic paints and wax pastels. In the final lesson, we compose and paint a bouquet using three of the flowers we've learned.

Hi! My favorite painting varnish is Liquitex Soluvar Matte Spray Varnish. I've sprayed acrylic paintings with the pastels and it doesn't activate them. I'd just avoid brush-on varnishes, which I'm sure would move the neocolors around :)
question - the original green background and 3 leaves ....are they dried acrylic?
Yes, they are acrylic that has dried 😊
Can this be used on encaustic ?
I’ve never done encaustic art before, so I’m not sure! A great resource online for questions like that is the forums on www.wetcanvas.com. I’ll Google my question and put “wet canvas” afterward and almost always come up with a discussion thread about it!
I would like these more if the colors were more subdued.
