I'm a UK citizen and I see a man who is comfortable in this role, speaks sense and has compassion and empathy to those who have suffered. He values friendship as a tool to create healthier relationships within the world, yet he portrays a strong US.The invitation to those victims brought the reality of the pain they have suffered and hopefully bring home the truths to his doubters. I understand there is an opposition but I don't understand a lack of respect for a democratic result. A good speech for trump would be considered a fail for other presidents. Plus all this will be erased by a few simple tweets in the future. It will be one step forward and two steps backwards in terms of messaging.
I give Trump credit for acknowledging his weakness in communication but if your effort is 100% and your results are average that suggests a real issue. He is smart in terms of money but the transition to being a strong president is not an entry level position.

Erik, the infrastructure spending is one of the only issues for which I agree with Trump. Yes, we have crummy roads and bridges, and we could create tens of thousands of construction jobs--which can't be outsourced to foreign countries--by improving them. My comment was to highlight the hypocrisy of the Republican Party. In one breath they say they want smaller govt, in the next they talk about expanding the military, the transportation infrastructure, more cops, more prisons, etc., and cutting taxes to boot. Realistically, you can't have it all.

Today is 10/30/22 and I watched this president speak of where the country was and how far he had brought it in such a short time . Of course the “ tolerant , compassionate and understanding “ crowd ( mostly dressed in white ) hated every minute of his speech because he was dismantling their utopian agenda .
Now under resident Biden we are worst off than we were before Trump was elected , and he did it in about the same amount of time . I truly do hope in ‘24 either Trump or someone like him is elected to office so we can then become great again . Remember that the ditch Biden has driven this country into isn’t really a ditch……it is a grave with both ends removed .

Nice to hear some good things like helping Veterans more. I myself have had tough times as I know so many other vets have.
The hateful statements on this page are unbelievable. Trump got 76% approval of all viewers on his speech. It was downright inspirational to most. He talked about bringing well over ten thousand jobs back to America, 3000 in Arizona alone, auto plants, etc., and still people hate him with a passion. I know the jobs are not phony. I live in Indiana. We saw 800 jobs saved during Christmas. I have a relative in Arizona who qualifies for one of those 3000 jobs. Boom town is around the corner in Chandler Arizona. It was sad to see Pelosi sitting there stiff-faced when Trump mentioned all the jobs coming to America. You also can't intelligently argue against strengthening our borders. It is a safety issue against cartels and terrorists, and criminals. We have to vet people. This is not the 1940's. There is a saying, "A man convinced against his will, is a man of his opinion still." No logic or fact can convince a person filled with hate. And hateful people are incapable of uniting with others for the good of all. I'm not saying Trump is perfect. But by God he has only been on the job 5 weeks. Give the man time and see what happens. And don't forget, he won 32 of 50 states. And the Clinton claim of the 3 million vote lead came basically from 3 highly populated states: Il., Ca. and N.Y.

President Trump's inauguration speech was very uplifting to the forgotten middle and lower class. Even hard truth can be very uplifting because it is focusing on the truth that we can make America great again. Those not encouraged by that speech are corrupt or ignorant.
