I am guilty of sloth: But I am a busy person..deep down I know that I am lazy and full of sadness...sorrow...thank you for the cure:
Get rid of distractions, take interest in what is in front of me...JOY. This deep sadness and sorrow from long ago I need to journal it out.
It is robbing me of the Joy of the Lord...
    Thanks Cheers Pints to you
    Blessings

“Captivated by good things.” 🤔 Passion for things as opposite sloth 🦥 “Sorrow about spiritual good.” Pleasure in evil. “Failure to move oneself toward the good.” “Not inquiring what God wants me to do or to care about if he exists”.

Heavy subject Sloth is...I have mourned for 40 years over my parents divorce. The deep sadness Aquinas referred to. I went to visit my 90 year old father, but with new eyes saw the truth of his personality and probably the reason for the divorce. No more tears no more sadness.
I love my father but giving thanks for Gods grace that he is still alive for me to see the truth, let go of the past, and pray for him.
This whole ordeal happened with the Mass readings about the Narrow way. Love is Patient, love is kind love is not jealous or RUDE.
God have mercy on all those who are rude and are unable to love those close to them. Pressing on to finish the race. Onto the next deadly sin. Blessings Sally

For later: sloth is, "Sorrow(sadness) about the spiritual good" and "a slugishness in bringing goods to their fulfilment" Sloth becomes a mortal sin when, "It reaches to the reason that consents to the dislike, horror, and detestation of the divine good."

“wonder over simple & beautiful things” “agitation that takes our mind of it and diverts it... prefer hunt to capture” Pascal
Destroys spiritual life. Wow. So, I have been trying to understand this. For me I can see this as perpetuating for myself missed opportunities FROM GOD.
If I recognize that the call to good action IS FROM GOD, that he like, needs me to do this thing then I can view what needs to be done as a CALL from God. I think I’ve tended to doubt myself as some kind of fanatic for the strong sense of moral duty... nagging I feel to pursue x y or z as a thing rife with moral purpose.
I think I have felt not up to the task; experienced sadness because of this. “Be faithful to what the Lord has put in front of you (now)”
“When we die, our plans come to nothing” Follow God. Humility. OK I’ll try this & see how it goes.

@@josephparedes5686 Nothing wrong with that. I saw the word 'pint' in the title and was like "Now that sounds like an open-minded individual." Could be because sometimes we find things that mirror ourselves in our ways. I'm not a drunk, nor do I not moderate it or drink copious amounts of it, but it's more that I like to listen to eccentric people. And I also believe that since God is all-knowing, he knows how to teach us the best.

Matthew 21:18-19. Our Blessed Lord cursed the fig tree for not being fruitful. The fig tree is said to be a figure of the Jewish people who did not produce the fruits expected of them by God.
The fact that it was not the season for figs confuses many. The explanation given is that God gives each one work to do in this life . We must trustingly serve Him in season and out of season and He shall make our work bear fruit.
