I'm in my 40's, I wish there was film of me following my dad and his brothers around the Utah mountains while I was this young man's age. This will be a treasure to this kid later on down the road.
Not sure how old the young man is, but he handled himself like a grown man. I have always shown and taught my son that I would rather lose trying my hardest, than win with out giving my best. Now I have 3 grandchildren to teach about how the real world is, and how hard work and dedication can pay off. Can't wait to see more videos of the young man keeping up with the rest of you.

First off Great video. I reflect on the line about teaching kids to do tough things. A lot of kids turn their noses at such lessons but if they don’t do those things and figure it out themselves then they never learn. Like Mark said, some tough things are on the horizon and we need to teach the future generations the basics on how to survive and thrive. Great message and video. Kudos to Eli! Limitations are only made not usually met.

Hunting with my dad was the highlight of my childhood. Those are memories that will live with me forever. Now getting to take him hunting is my favorite way to spend time in the field. Seeing a father that will take his son out with him even though it may be inconvenient or slower at times (although it looks like Eli was showing all those old guys up) is something we need more of today.
Love to see you bring in the kids. This is truly what this country needs
Psalms 127:4 & 5…Like arrows in the hand of a mighty man, So are the sons of one’s youth. ..Happy is the man who fills his quiver with them…
I have two sons who are in their 20’s now. Some of the most impactful, and meaningful days we have spent together have been in the field. Those days draw us closer, solidify our family bonds and provide unequaled opportunities for my wife and I to instill in them the core values that we hold dear. My wife and I simply did not have daughters, but the same would hold true if we had. While some makes comments as rhetoric, others put it into action. Our children are our legacy, they become well aimed “arrows”, hitting their mark as fine men and women when we treasure them as the blessing that they are and “release” them with the love, support and guidance that they all need. Love seeing well made videos featuring our youngsters afield, making sure Grittiness lives on!

This was by far my favorite Gritty video to date. My son just turned 13 this year and decided he wanted to start hunting with me. Seeing the relationship between Mark and Eli out in the field is beyond inspirational. I'm excited to see the man my son becomes in the future from our experiences hunting together.

Watching this episode makes me more committed to teaching my kids to be outdoorsman, not just wanderers of life.

To be in the same camp with Livesay and Call when they rib each other would be priceless! You know when Livesay removes the camera filter (IE- the cuts of the film that don’t ever make it public) he’d probably make me piss my pants during one of his rants. Love the films guys!

I grew up hard core hunting in Montana. I absolutely love guiding/mentoring anyone especially kids. Last January was -30 all day 14 miles chasing elk. If this generation doesn’t come by it naturally it’s our job to teach them. Do what’s gotta be done in life.

Men I love your channel. This is such a great video. I've got 6 kids, 3 boys and 3 girls, and absolutely my favorite hunts are when the kids go. You all are spot on. We need to teach our boys to be strong men because society has raised a bunch of weak ones, and we will need strong men for the times ahead.
This single mom taught her son to hunt and fish. I taught him to be a stand up man, independent and responsible . He is now 35 and I couldn’t be happier. We don’t need all the participation awards . We need leaders like my guy.

Thank you for including this hunt in your posted videos. As a mother of two girls close to Eli's age, I also find it extremely important to teach them that they can do hard things. Our maternal instincts urge us to shelter and protect them in every aspect but in doing so, we fail to prepare them to face the challenges they will undoubtedly encounter in life. They are more capable than we realize and they just need us to support and guide them along the way. Stay gritty.

Love this video. Mark is such a great Dad. It's not easy today because today's culture unfortunately wants to look at the bad and label without proper understanding. Mark makes his son enjoy the "discipline" of hard work and showing his son how it pays off. Literally giving him the fishing pole to create his own success with hard work and determination; creating grit ;-) . I loved the film and the hunt. We need more of this. Been hunting with my son since he was 5. He is a journeyman welder now, a stone cold hunter and knows how to handle himself in rough conditions. I believe this was a direct result of his time in the field. Congratulations on a fine young man mark.
Love this video. Those days go by too fast. As a dad of now young adult kids I’m watching my kids thrive where many are struggling and it directly correlates to the lessons learned in the woods and hunting. I have long preached to my kids what Mark said in that they are capable of so much more then what society believes they’re capable of. Love what you all do. Keep it up.

Can't imagine the man that I would have become if not for my dad taking me hunting at the ripe age of 12. I've been hunting elk mule deer whitetail my whole life I look forward to it every year I love being on the mountains and your films put me right back in there hunting along right beside you. A little late to watch this episode. This definitely motivates me to raise my son and daughters to endure hard times. I was able to take my 6 year old daughter late season PA deer hunting for the first time and she was incredible with the cold weather and yes she had the same 5 hand warmers in her gloves as Eli!!
There is nothing like hunting with your kids. Sure going with friends is great but seeing your kids succeed and over come challenges using their own ambition is something special.

I really enjoyed this hunt. It reminded me one the hunt with my daughter this year, here first elk hunt. Just like Eli, my daughter made a great shot on her first cow elk.
I also really like the comments after the hunt. I have to raise a daughter in a tough world and teach her to be strong and always try her hardest.
We're raising our country's future leaders. Leaders don't have a bunch of crap handed to them. Good job Dad. Great film as always.

I have four daughters, three of which are hunter. There is nothing more exciting than seeing one of your kids get so excited or frustrated as making the shot count or even missing once in a while!

Another great film. UA-cam recently put Gritty up on my screen, I don't know why, but I loved it have since watched everything and making my way through the podcasts. Interestingly for me it was the hunt with Pedro and I wasn't sure about bear hunting (and I hunt), watching and listening to you guys has been an education.

Love that my boys are now big enough to fit in my camo. All wrestlers, so it comes down to a wrestle off for the best of dads camo. Nothing better than having them love to follow you in your tracks. Staying GRITTY.
My wife had our son when we were 18 years old. At the time I thought it was ruining my life. 10 years later I wouldn’t change it for the world. He has his journal that he writes in after every hunt. In 2022 he hunted 86 days to say he’s obsessed is an understatement! I love watching videos of Kiddos having success and going on adventures. It’s truly refreshing to see in this plug and play world we live in. Keep up the great work guys.

From experience, I can say that Eli is going to look back on this footage years later and be incredibly thankful that it exists. I wish that video like this existed when I was hunting with my dad.
I’ve seen lots of experienced guys who have less self control on their shots then this gritty stud here! Hell of a shot! His old man better watch out… think his boys a better shot. Haha
