High Elves in lore: dying race which tries to restore its Golden Age.
High Elves in Total War Warhammer 2: the race that you shouldn't piss off because they have so many tools to punish you. Almost like Skavens.
I actually think high elves are harder to fight then skaven (they waste their abilities) but skaven are harder to get rid of.
That's also for the lore too. The only race they have to worry about is themselves (Druchii). They are only a "dying race" because every 200 years they go into total war against yet another DE invasion.

yah id defo say in lore high elves are still fairly strong, the individual martial prowess and wisdom the avergae elf would have alone keeps them from being forgotten

Since High Elves have so many Doomstacks, Legend could do a campaign where every stack has a different composition

@@alexeyalexandrov7583 There is a mod called custom lord creation, it allows you to put any trait on a hero (or as many as you want). Now I feel that is closer the cheating then cheese but its a good way to test the trait stacking.
I think you can get a fire mage on a dragon with incendiary spiteful crushing and resistant.

This one is a lot better than the Loremaster one, which I think Legend slightly overrated.
@@doktarr the loremaster one was nasty, it was slow but they didnt lose one hp xD he barely needed to heal xD
@@isthou Yeah but it had two flaws:
- Lack of mobility and all-small figures meant it couldn't pick its spots and deal with threats that arose. Legend had to basically solo the Luminarks with his lord, which is a serious weak spot. Every other "legit" 9/10 or 10/10 doomstack we've seen could have just sent over some troops and killed the Luminark.
(relatedly, the loremasters could get separated and it was really hard to get them back together due to lack of mass to push through. Not good if your opponent can isolate)
- Dependence on physical resistance. This didn't really come up in that battle because only the Luminarks did magic damage. But against, say, Bladesingers and Treemen, the Loremasters would actually take a lot of damage.
Still a sold 8/10 or 9/10 but not a 10/10.
i think the top 5 doomstack need to be remade.
well it would probably just be high elves and all their doomstacks. You could even do a top 10 with this
@@albericdecarrere8436 yeah, the HE have the most option of doomstack and most of it that has been shown are mostly 9/10. so they're good but cant win againts beastmen doomstack.

I remember this explanation from CA - charge bonus is a flat bonus to melee attack and melee damage, that gradually goes down over 12 seconds period. It adds to AP damage and non-AP damage in the same proportion as unit currently has.
The high elves are amazing. Favorite faction to play. Great central location. Great economy. Great army and magic strength. Lots of cheese options available to those who partake.
But we all know the best doomstack: stormvermin spam

To answer 1:08 Charge bonus applies a flat bonus to hit and weapon damage. The damage is the same % base/armor-piercing as the weapon strength.
Example: If you have 600 weapon strength and it is 150 base/450 armor-piercing. 200 charge bonus would add 50 base / 150 armor piercing damage
The damage bonus from charge bonus is split between normal weapon damage & armor piercing damage proportionally to the unit's stats.
I love how Legend barely noticed they erased the first army within two minutes. And this is a melee only (basically) doomstack.
We need a Doomstack Tournament to pit these against each other. Some would obviously be OP but would be fun to watch.
Too bad you cant recreate them in custom battle.
The HARD part of this battle was probably constantly sending the nobles from one dead unit to the next target every few seconds ... a lot of WORK WORK.

It's only one skill point to give them eagles to swap into in case of Rite of Primeval Glory; 20 Eagles tear through dinospam.
honestly look how fast and easily these guys took out those heroes and lords like franz. I don't think they'll have any trouble against primeval glory as long as you focus the carnosaurs.

Hot dam that was sick. Normally I kinda scoff at chariots because of how squishy they are, and they don’t generally perform well when blobbed with friendly troops. But I have to wonder how much the constant contact damage from chariots comes into play with this stack. It seemed like just touching an enemy caused massive damage even while not moving. Pulling through infantry and cycle charging with this army would be even more devastating.
The only thing Alistar does for this army is giving all the units the strider trait. There is a generic high elf prince with a trait that gives a +20% charge bonus, which I'm pretty sure applies after the crushing trait.

Alistar has a chariot mount, which is pretty on-theme for this army.
Strider is pretty big. It makes this stack viable if you have to fight in woods. 20% charge bonus on top of what, 230%, that isn't too impactful, as they are already at max hit chance vs anything in the game, so it would just be a little more damage.

There is a mod in the workshop called "Custom Lord Creation" for anyone who doesn't want to trait farm. Can instead recruit the type of lord/hero with the exact trait you want. Saves a lot of time if you want to make stacks like this. Can even put faction-specific traits on other races. A bit OP mod.

Crazy how twilight hawk riders are a more viable doomstack now then like 99% of the other ones. Only those free pegasus knights really compare and that's weight of numbers. Love that WE have some viable options now.
I mean, it's not really something WE got ( as you pointed earlier in your comment ) it's a stack that only the Twins can field.

Charge bonus gives you a flat increase to melee attack and weapon damage (AP being applied in the units' normal ratio) that fades over 15 seconds.
A charge bonus of 100 doesn't double your melee attack, it increases it by 100 for the first few seconds of the charge, I assume dropping to 66 when 5 seconds have passed
I guess much of the melee combat power comes from the fact that chariot heroes have 3 things, that attack. Lions, tat pull the chariots, guy with the whip and the hero himself. So it's like having 60 attack animations instead of 20.

I'd love to see two new top 5 doomstack vids. One for these style of elite doomstacks that need 100 turns to recuit even one stack and control of most of the map to raise the unit cap enough to recruit 2. And one for what he believes are consistent and realistic doomstacks.

Charge bonus is simply added flat to hit chance and damage.
But since nobles have a splash attacks value of 4 it means even if they go over 1k weapon strength they shouldn't be that great at clearing infantry: they kill 4 model per swing but waste tons of damage.
Watched full video, weeeeell, it doesn't look like they care much about wasting damage.
This is the opposite of the Paladin doomstack from yesterday. The offensive power of this army is insane.

I am pretty sure charge bonus is a flat number. So 250 charge bonus is +250 weapon damage and +250 melee attack on the initial attack. I think Zerkovich has done a video on this lol.

Charge Bonus should be additive over a few seconds after the charge, additive on Melee Attack and Weapon strength. At least that is how other Content Creators explained it in their "Info for Newbies" Videos. Zerkovic for example.
it isn't total war Warhammer 2, this is total war troy ..... (incase you didn't understand, Tier 3 chariot spam in every faction in TROY can destroy everything, literally everything )
Charge bonus works as: the charge number is added too mellee attack + base weapon strength for about 14seconds(it is 14,38...), most units get around 3-4 attacks in that time.!!!

Lizardmen pompous doomstack wins. Any non-unbreakable unit just routs, and the unbreakable units in the game aren't good enough to take on massed Lizardmen heroes.
@@ashisunblade Well, there was the unbreakable HE Noble stack, as well as the Loremasters. The LM might not be good against Dinosaurs normally, but when they only take about 10% damage and have a hundred casts of Shem's to use...
And the Nobles could just hit and run.

I was prepared to add the same comment regarding the fact that charge bonus applys as a sum to the mele atack and weapon strenght and that it decreases over a period of around 10 secconds.
For instance, what I found out with Gorebulls, is that it is more effective to increase their charge bonus than it is to increase their weapon strenght.

Charge bonus is actually added on top of weapon strength in the same ratios as weapon strength. Example:
A Unit has weapon strength of 100, 25 of it is armor piercing, 75 is not.
Let's say that unit has a charge bonus of 50
That means on the charge, it will deal the 100 (25 AP, 75 normal) + 50 (12.5 AP (25% of 50), 37.5 normal(75%)).
More saving disaster campaign!

Charge bonus is additively extra dmg and MA flat in ratio of your armor pen and non armor pen %. so basically if you have 10 Charge bonus and the WS is 50/50 ap/nonap then you get 10 MA and 5 ap and 5 non ap which decays over 15 seconds
And that's another proof for how ridiculously OP the High Elves actually are in total war warhammer

My understanding is that charge is a flat bonus to melee attack and weapon strength equal to the charge bonus, decaying linearly over 15 seconds. At a certain point the bonus to melee attack ceases to matter since I believe your chance to hit is capped at 95%. I've heard conflicting things about the bonus weapon strength, whether it uses the same AP ratio as unit, or if it has it's own AP ratio so I don't know exactly how it affects weapon strength. I also don't know if it has any effect on collision damage, which is a special type of impact damage usually only used by chariots.

High elves really are that one race that can just do whatever the fuck they want. Seriously all of the dragons and phoenixes can be doomstacked, at least two different types of hero spams are just insane, sisters of avelorn are a great missile spam, wizard and lion chariot spam works, eagle knight spam is a thing "forgot unit name", white lion doomstack also works even though it's a meme and I wouldn't be surprised if someone was to send in a ranger doomstack with some specific hero traits any day now.
Actually White Lions of Trash aren't all that bad under Alastar with his special skill line to buff them. With his reduced cost they are actually worth it and become cheaper Swordsmen Of Hoeth (with anti-large instead)
There's no real offensive magic present not to discount jade offensive spells. What about a fireleech bolas stack? there's no range either. Oh or a wood elf Hawk rider stack.
You can just take out the land units then the flying units have to land. It's one of the mechanics in the game for that exact reason. Fireleech bolas can't do much to single entities anyways. Hawkriders from the twins could do more, but yeah, being forced to land by the no land units penalty would be game over in seconds.
vs a dreadsaurian doomstack?
In my experience, Lords on the ground have a MUCH higher chance to hit. No matter what the numbers say. We've all seen it, a Lord on a flying mount just pushing a ground target around and not actually hitting them. Especially single entities. That first steam tank MELTED in seconds. You Don't see that with dragons. Fast, consistent, on target attacks beats huge numbers on the unit cards hands down IMO.
The large size of those units makes it so they push each other away so they can't properly surround targets
That's large mounts for you. You're trading speed and hp for attack. The smaller the mount the better. That's why dragons are the worst mount.

Flat bonus actually. It adds your melee attack and weapon strength. Those bonus are then divided by the ratio of your weapon strength. Example, your weapon strength is 100 (70 AP + 30 Base). This means that your charge bonus are 70% AP dmg, and 30% base dmg... At least thats what I understand. Feel free to correct me anyone.

Funny how he mentions you cant get a full hero doomstack at lvl 40 by turn 40... and then the new vampire lvl 40 cheese by turn 7 comes out
The issue is trait farming, you could lvl them up fast with the cheese, but the trait you're searching for can take a while to find even one, let alone 19, and you only get to see one new hero per turn. So not even close to turn 40 sadly.
I thought charge bonus was damage on impact. So dragon prince's have an 80 charge bonus so each Prince that charges a unit without charge defence will take 80 hp damage per DP hitting them on the charge.
Not sure, but could the Asrai-Hawkriders be a threat to them? Snipe them down without giving an easy target.
Any flying ranged army. As long as they don't run out of ammo.
