What is that green tab that you pulled off? What happens if you don't remove that?
I have some X sense alarms, these have an escape light, can they also be Interconnected like the ones here or.... Am i gonna have to replace them with the interconnected ones?
Doesn't it warn against putting it in a furnace room?
These are great devices, but be aware that if your home already has hard-wired smoke alarms replacing them with battery powered devices is a code violation. Units powered exclusively by batteries are considered to be of lesser reliability than hard-wired units. Modern hard-wired units are networked and have a battery back-up, the best of both worlds so to speak.
Good Info. That makes sense. The units I have in my home are electric with battery backup.
Can you install this on top of old wired detector base?
What would you do with the old wiring? leave it in the ceiling underneath the new detector?
