I have a 1997 Trophy 1200 since it was new. Has roughly 50k now on it and loved every time riding it. It was the last generation with a 4 cylinder engine. Don't understand why Triumph didn't continue with the big 4s but in any event, very happy they made this one for sure.

I really miss my 1996 Trophy 900. I have the 4-cylinder 1200cc version now. It's not the same. Although theoretically you get more power with the 1200, it feels much heavier than the 900 and is too keen to rev. Also the 900 has separate ignition coils for each of the 3 cylinders whilst the 1200 has two ignition coils shared between cylinders. That 3-cylinder engine noise is haunting.

what a sweet sound! I call it 'groups of three'. Always, for me, a 3,6 or 12 cylinder engine has that special balance of asymetrics. Even a Daihatsu Cuore! :)

The irony is that folk who choose not to wear a helmet don't actually need to anyway as there's clearly nothing between their ears that need protection!
Dude... When you've seen the things that I've seen in the emergency services... You'd wear your damn lid at all times!
