Nice work Del! A little tip for anyone who may be having trouble bleeding up the slave after, is to pre fill it with fluid with a syringe via the bleed nipple (and the hose off) first, then loosely locate the slave in place. As you tighten the bolts down, this will compress the piston, thus expelling any air in the slave. Bolt the hose on and enjoy a quicker and easier bleeding process 👍🏻
I like your work style. This is one of the classic repairs in which only the expertise is clearly expressed, when a big problem becomes the fun of easy job... it also gives a lot of inspiration. Great video work and editing as usual. THANKS
I bet that clutch cylinder was never in better shape even when it was brand new. Thorough and meticulous work as always Del. Being an old timer who worked mostly on heavy equipment where everything was cast iron or steel I still cringe when I hear that snap noise when breaking loose bolts into aluminum. Always scares me.😧😁 Love the maintenance tips and tricks videos. Thanks Del and Penny. Your efforts are much appreciated. God bless friends. ❤👍👍
Thanks so much Rick, am glad you enjoyed it, I know what you mean, it's always a tense moment leaning on a cruddy fastener that's been in place a few years... but thankfully no dramas today! Have a great week there and keep safe, D&Px
Amassing what good clean and a polish can do Del! Of course the expertise and know how is just as important. Great job Del. Catch you later brother.
Thanks Shaun👍, it's a really simple little pump and as you saw, dead easy to pop open and clean. ! Thank you for your support as always.. D&Px
Great videos Del ! keep up the good work and i hope your in good health !
Thank you Paul, glad you enjoyed it. The Health is a work in progress as always.. every day a step forward !
@@Moonfleet41 I don't know what you're going through specifically, but I also have such a situation.. please keep at it :) You got this, or as much of it as you possibly can, anyway. Any progress is good. Please keep that moving forwards. The world needs more people like you.
Let me reiterate that: You fucking got this!!!!
@@ToninFightsEntropy Thank you so much Tony, that means a great deal mate..!
Any ideas of the cause? Like you I've bled the clutch on my 2002 trophy and not noticed any issue with the fluid. My clutch is starting to feel heavy to me, but I'm not sure if it's an issue with my arthritic hands or a real problem. Looks like I might be following your example. Great video and could be very helpful to me.👍Of course I'd have to buy some banjo washers though!
The brown sludge is water and rust...brake fluid absorbs water and the spring was rusty.. initially the piston was heavy and took some force to push in.. but when i finished it was gliding smoothly... so yeah, why not try this, it could improve things..!
Nice vid Del
I guess there is one limitation of the front wheel clamp, that you cant twist the handlebars to get the reservoir 'level' for when you are topping it up - although in one close-up it did look pretty level?
Job well done Del. That will keep you rolling down the road with out problems, Penny and you enjoy the last part of your week and take care. Cheers
Thanks mate, been snowing today, so we are really looking forward to the Spring and some sunshine! Have a safe week there, D&Px
Just what I need do on my 1100 Honda shadow !!!
Another great video brother!!! learned something new 👍 I always admire the way you tackle a maintenance project, taking your time to make sure its done right 👍 keep up the great work brother !!! stay safe guys cheers from new york!!! 🎉🎉🎉👍👍👍👍🍺🍺🍺
Thank you so much for your constant and kind words of support 👍, we're glad you enjoyed it, it's always good to hear from you brother... have a great week both, take care, D&Px
Great video Del. I use a Brake Fluid Liquid Tester Pen on previously opened containers before each use. Works on Dot 3 and 4. Have a great week.
Great tip buddy! Have a great week too!
Shiny will always stop the squelching! Got it! Great video as always Del and sending love to you and P x
Thanks buddy, glad you liked it, have a great week too! D&Px
Hi Penny and Del - awesome video as always! This is one of those rare times when you have covered something I am pretty familiar with, though I have to say that this design is better than my Bandit where you have to remove the from sprocket cover to get at the clutch slave cylinder. Very nicely documented and great result! Always a pleasure when a new video comes out. Take care, my friends, be well, ride safe!
You're totally right mate, Suzuki did make it awkward to get at them... Triumph clearly like the simple life! Have a great week there and keep safe, D&Px
Ah, 'good clean, fluid motions, ones that will reliably aid everyday clutching actions' - damned important at our age, what?
Reminds me of the 'Mandalorian' actor; win an Oscar for standing still & looking intense with a bucket on your head?! : )xx
I have done that before. Everyone claims that once you open that bottle of break fluid, you have to use it all. Well, I am glad you clarified that for me once again.
Most welcome mate, time's are hard, can't always afford to be extravagant and there is a way round these things.
Pretty neat vid! Great tip re brake fluid, Del! Hope you both enjoy the weekend there…
🏍👍🏍
Thanks Gary 👍, have a wonderful weekend both too, D&Px
Hey Del. I need to get some of that red rubber lube. My old gal could do with some rubber revival. Question, are you not concerned that it will contaminate the fluid the seal is meant to retain? P.s. I’m partial to a light green tint. No agenda, I promise. 😂
Not at all Mark, the rubber lube is completely inert, it's not oil based, and a tiny smear to preserve and lubricate the seal is hardly going to cause a problem if it was happy to operate full of grungy sludge... and green, hmmm smashing!
Never stop the videos Penny and you.
You refreshing my day.
Sorry for my poor english.
Bonjour de Normandie.
Thank you for your kind words of support!
My agenda is Tea, biscuits, and watching awesome Del and Penny motorbike videos. You've caught me!
Now that is a meaningful agenda... enjoy! D&Px
Straight forward job, free too, well done Sir
Another satisfying job👌👌❤️
Thank you Gerry! 😊
Certainly was a little grimy, glad it was an easy fix 👍🏻
You and me both mate.. could have been worse aye !
Yesterday a new colour was born “Magenda”. 🙈
That was a lovely job well done, thanks :)
Thank you too Tony... always good to hear from you. !
Parabéns!
Great video and I loved that trick with the compressed air. New trick for this amateur mechanic.
Most welcome James, Glad you enjoyed it, it works for brake calipers too.!
Nicely Done, its a good feeling to have it 100% in your mind...:)
So true!
From the bottom of my heart THANK YOU for today's Positive Post. I feel warm, uplifted, and have HOPE for the first time in years.... Now, I'm crying like a little girl... Tears of joy!
You are so welcome, that's wonderful to hear, have a joyous 12 volt day, D&Px
Good tip re fluid. …if I may share another one with you. Don’t remove the foil seal, just pierce with two small holes diametrically opposite, one to let the fluid out, one to let the air in and control flow with the finger tip - helps prevent accidental spillage.
Like that top tip, hopefully I'll remember it next time!
And this is how I found out clutches don't use cables anymore. And I love your methodology! Keep it real mate! ;)
Always!
😊👍
If you fancy a laugh I called out dirty garage for his obsession with you on his latest vid trolling this one. Go have a look. He didn't half throw a hissy fit. Lol
Thank you for your kind support mate, we really appreciate it. !

Perfect job, Del. No squeaking any more. Now the new triple season can start. All the best, Günter/Nürnberg
Shiny shiny , can't go wrong! Does it for me always.
Peace and love brother ✌️ 🧡🤗
Totally agree mate, have a wonderful week! D&Px
Thanks Del
👍👍👍 bang on job bruv
Thanks Ray!
Why is it so satisfying to see all the parts clean and shining. Haha! Nice job, take care and Ride Safe.
Thanks Bill.👍
Always nice to see the master at work!
Good tip about brake fluid storage too.
Thanks Harold 👍, hope you're keeping well there! D&Px
Sensacional!
Great job Del 👌👍
Top job Del👍
Thanks buddy 👍
I'll admit that I just flush my brake and clutch systems until the opened fluid is gone :)
Me too usually, but as you can see, this is the result, so worth a proper clean once in a while!
Nice job..
love a free one del atb m8 iain
Nice to watch a professional at work!
