In the 70s when I was stationed there, not even officers lived like that. I lived at Smith Barracks. Baumholder is actually one of Hitler's old Basic Training Camps. I was Infantry so I lived in an eight man single room bay. Complete with one steel desk four sets of bunk beds in each corner, and eight metal wall lockers. 45yrs ago. You guys got it made.
Can we see how it looks with your American furniture in it? Every video I've found shows the apartments when they first move in and have the army issued stuff. I just want to see that it can look like a home and our furniture will fit.
So, my ex-husband and I lived in Smith housing before we moved out into a regular residential, but I swear to you, we always heard what sounded like the sound of heavy furniture being dragged at night. We were at the very top floor, so I guess if an attic existed it was coming from that floor. I made a complaint one day and they told me that nobody lived above us. Did anybody else experience this? Just wondering
Dorothy P I actually have a friend who told me she hears the same exact stuff going on above her, but she doesn’t think anyone lives above her either! Super weird!
A bit late but I use to live in baumholder 10 years ago we lived on the third floor and we would always hear stuff dragging along the top of the the Attic a few people told us that the buildings were haunted especially in the lower part of Wetzel true story I remember we were walking back to our house and we seen the lights flickering on and off in one of the attic rooms we could also hear what sounded like a womans voice in the basement laundromat and it would always be cold in that specific spot

that key you are talking about,is not to turn the heater on..that key is used to open the valve,so air thats trapped in there can escape
I was a teenager there in 1989. There are old tunnels next to the train station there used by Nazi's. We used to get drunk in them LOL

When we lived there...there wasn't in apartment laundry....lived on the 4th floor and had to trek down to the basement level to do the laundry :-(
