🇹🇹 As an older Trinidadian, I had to tell my daughter about Nelson Mandela because she wasn't taught about him at school. Also, I love your song "Jerusalema". ❤
I love that you are showing the parts people dont see or go to, rather than the typical places. I don't even think I've been to Moruga. I may have as a child, but I don't remember. But I don’t think I've been that far south.
Please don't hide the ghetto slums and crime jungle where the majority lives🤣 You are just showing us the Asian/White neighbourhoods. Where are the black hoods at?
Beautiful village. Nature is one of the greatest therapies. I enjoy your conversations and interactions with the villagers. Conversations are the bridges that connect souls, fostering understanding and growth.
very informative and nice guide you have with you, you are fortunate to have his company, and glad you did not go alone, had you touched one of those pretty plants of glitter YIKES! bless you in your travel, good video, enjoy, and thank you, I enjoyed it..
Beautiful upscale village and so lush and green and beautiful scenery and nice watching sunset and happy new year 2024 lynn new adventures await you.😊 safe travels
Well ....African Tigress!!!! I am a Trini and must have only visited Moruga once or twice in my life. And I am from Sando eh, ( San Fernando) Thanks for highlighting all of this! Wonderful !!! Enjoyed every minute and your guide , Colin was excellent!❤❤❤🎉 Thank you so much.😊
The high fences are not because of crime. Fences make good neighbours and they are boundary markers. I am 71 yrs old and since before I was born people, especially in the city when one owned a property, part of making the property nice was to put up a fancy concrete front fence and gate and if you could afford it you would surround the whole property with a concrete fence. If you can't the sides and back will be wire fence.
Moruga is the home of Moruga Hill Rice, a dryland variety of rice that was indigenous to Africa and a strain of a different species from the more widespread Asian species of rice. It was once a widespread crop in the US and was brought here by African Americans (mostly slaves) who had served with the British against the US during the War of 1812 and were resettled by the Brits in numbered Company villages that corresponded with the military Companies they served with
Happy new year Lyn ! I visited Moruga in the late 1990s the first time I visited Trinidad on a community health exchange. I enjoyed the tight knit neighborhood and peacefulness.
Grand Chemin is just one of the many lovely villages which make up Moruga. The village of Basseterre is also very peaceful and friendly. I was back there a few days ago. The Roman Catholic church you saw is one of the prettiest that I have ever seen in T&T so I hope you got to go inside. Hope you entire visit in T&T has been wonderful so far and remember to always stay safe because nowhere in the world is perfect.

Although I am from Trinidad, I have only gone down south four times, including to Point Fortin and the Pitch Lake. You have done better than me. Thanks for the tour. I really enjoyed how the villagers live. The government need to fix the roads there. With all that pitch, we should not have potholes in our roads. You are learning the Trini language.😂😂
Beautiful part of my Country Trinidad, I would love to visit one day! Thanks to this lovely visitor from Africa & the tour guide, in the green T- shirt who knows so much about his hometown. ❤
The indigenous people of Trinidad, although globally acknowledged as one of many groups of Ab-Originals; that have historically dotted the global landscape, are of a distinct ethnic identity from the Australian Aboriginies. The indigenous people of Trinidad are Indians - (The Caribs and The Arawaks, also known as The Tainos and The Kalinagos, and The Warao, who originally were and are still primarily of The South-American Mainland), and they are all more closely affiliated, ethnically, with the multiplicity of Indigenous Indians that have historically populated The Americas - (Canada, The United-States of America, Central-America, South-America and The West-Indies/The Caribbean).

The whole of Trinidad is clean if you get caught littering $1000

That's because Trinis are poor with the exception of Asians and British who live in wealthy suburbs. You earn peanuts and work for Asians.
