Corie Fegel I agree wholeheartedly, I've come to love alot of amazing moments that have been aided in impact by masterful use of editing a scene to a song that captures it's tone and heightens it's emotional impact, this is easily one of the best I've seen since the premiere of the final season of Person Of Interest.
I do too. He is doing something that means so much to Lucifer. And seeing the doctors watching him in the background cuz he wouldn't back down had me SOBBING
I loved this scene but what I think would have been better is The Angel of Death shows up and Amenadial and him start fighting for Chloe's life or something else is Amenadiel opens his wings
Wow everything about this scene was just wow! 1. Amenadiel holding off all the doctors 2. Lucifer’s mom reaction to leaving her son 3. Mazes reaction to Lucifer almost dying then coming back 4. And most of all the music
Literally, Maze openly resents the fact that she doesn't have a soul until she realises she is growing one... personally, I think she started growing one here. Not enough to register it, but she cries here as she thinks Lucifer isn't coming back and Chloe is going to die. She is friends with Trixie... Whatever she thinks, something is growing.
This scene, and the one in new ssn 4,where all amenediel said was "i know who did this" and lucifer instantly responded "ill drive" with no other questiones, just the grief and saddness pcer the lost his brother just had
We all love the actors but, you've got to admire the people behind the spotlight for their music choices and editing skills. So glad they decided to make 10 more episodes for season 2!!
On god. Like that’s a grieving mother who lost her child and I can’t imagine what it must feel like to think that they are in front of you when they’re really not
MsSoulweaver1 Maze won't admit it , but it seems the more she is around humans the more she feels a connection with them, and I believe it is all Trixie's doing.
The characters are celestial and their older and more powerful then humans. The more time they spend with humans the more they realise how they relate to them. Their starting to understand what human emotions feels now and because of their age and power being human or signs of humanity is alien to them and usually because of their status they mostly look down on them. I think maze has always cared for lucifer because she has known him and followed him through everything for eons but she doesn't show it and probably thought it as a weakness but here you can see that she loves him. She almost broke down thinking lucifer isn't coming back and the joy, relief she had when he came back was clearly shown. When Amenadiel hugged trixie he finally understood what it means to fight for someone with such passion. Amenadiel loves lucifer but with bromance it hard to see sometimes and they rarely show their emotions but in season 1 they hated eachother because of the rebellion and recently he hated lucifer because he was the favorite son. Amenadiel sees lucifer changing, they all are but this scene it shows how amenadiel thinks and feels towards his brother whether he hides it or not. Charlotte is the supreme goddess so with all that time and power she doesn't really need to care about anything but she loves her children and maybe still loves god. She hates humans becaues they are the reason that god turned his attention away from his family and the whole reason lucifer rebelled and was cast out as well as herself being cast out of heaven. Humanity tore apart her family so she hates them. However humanity as rubbed off on her as you can see because she showes more kindness (on few acations and to few people) and is more affected by her emotions and guilt so she showing signs of human emotion. Sorry about the long comment and this is all my opinion on the subject of course. All of them are learning what it means and feels like to be human which is one of the things i love about this show and the acting was so real and pure i love it.
everyone is talking about Amenadeil standing ground. yeah that made me cry but what my heart shred into a million pieces was when Urial wouldn't let the mother go and said "don't abandon me again. please" and when she tried to get out of Lucifer's arm and go back but he held her tight. and that song.. Omg that song control my tear ducts man
The fact that “mother come here” plays while Lucifer holds Mom to force her out of hell and also the “Mother” fitting perfectly when they rianimate her I’ve never heard a song in a show fitting the scene so perfectly. Hands down one of the best scenes of the show.
I agree completely. Every word matches up with the scene perfectly. Amenadiel feeling alone, lost and stuck on earth "this house don't feel like home". You can dissect every verse and it would correlate to the scene it's in perfectly. Man this episode was such a masterpiece...
This is one of those scenes where everything in it comes together perfectly. The music, the way its edited it really is beautiful. Watching Amenadiel truly become a Guardian Angel, not just a son who blindly does what his Father says for me is what this scene is all about. He made his choice here, he could have let them take Chole and Lucifer would have remained in hell like Dad wanted. Instead he truly was a Guardian for his Brother his choice. Fallen or not, this was a noble and true thing to do and I adore him for it. The moment when he tosses those three guards off, turns and plants himself in the doorway...gives me chills every time.
The Purple Princess Gypsy Amby I still believe his meeting Trixie for the first time played a big part in the way he stood his ground. She seems to have that effect .
Everything you said made the scene all the more powerful, I never thought of that he was defying their father to keep a promise to his brother, If something happens to Amenadiel it will ruin the show in my opinion
@Elias Faraj Tayar I knw that the uriel in hell isn't really him but to literally be wipe out from existence itself it sadly the only time lucifer gets to see the brother he kill is in his own personal hell
This... This is a cinematic masterpiece. The music, the scenes, how everything makes your heart pump. When Charlotte screamed for Uriel, the way Amendiel stayed to keep Chole in the room, Maze showing care and love for Lucifer (the way she was breaking down when Linda was trying to revive him). This is why I love the show.
She does love her children. The reason why she wanted to go to back to heaven was so that she could reunite with all her children. She wanted her family back
@@VibrantDesigns Hell is perpetuated by the person's own guilt. She reacted severely when she first heard one of her younger children had been killed, by Lucifer no less. But she could also see her son was suffering and a parent swallows their own pain to comfort their child. This just shows her guilt of failing her child and losing him before she could be reunited with him.
Valeria Ricci he gave his word to his brother he was not about to let anyone stand in his way of protecting chloe I teard up when when the two brothers had a moment when lucifer entered the room to save her powerful scene
This was a turning point in the show, this is when it went from being goofy with the occasional emotional touch to being a full on "right in the feels" exploration of human relationships. I just finished binge watching all four seasons in the past few weeks and it was scenes like this one that made this show one of if not my favorites ever. Also, there are very few scenes in TV history that can compete with the song choice of this one, so powerful.
No doubt the song choice cant be beat by any other scene or any other episode. But some scenes in Grey's anatomy come damn close. That show also had an amazing soundtrack.
Something that is important in this scene but so so so subtle is the acting choice by Woodside. It’s perfect. You’re fighting in this scene and the immediate thought is violence, Bear your teeth, yell, BE violent. But no, Woodside chooses stoicism. The Unshaken Guardian. His duty is to stay here and guard her and the stoic cold facial expression conveys that duty, the obligation, that DEVOTION so well. It is the first time throughout the first two seasons in which any of the celestials FEEL like angels. It’s one thing to know these are angels and acknowledged but it’s another to feel their angelic nature and this is the first time in the early going where they nail it.
Absolutely love this scene and how every character was involved. I've had mixed feelings about Amenadiel throughout the series, but this scene forever sealed him as a hero and guardian angel (no matter his current circumstances) in my eyes. The fact that Charlotte was willing to go to Hell for Lucifer and that she couldn't leave the image of Uriel on her own added a whole new depth to her character as well. As for Maze and Dr. Linda, both show so much emotion in this scene. Even Dan's brief moment felt important. And that music. THAT MUSIC. Perfect scene and best one of the entire show thus far. Season 2 has vastly improved the entire show, and I love how Lucifer's powers and darker personality are shown more too.
I’ve Worked on Some Shows Over The Years But Lucifer Was One of The Most Well Written Eye Opening Great Shows With Deep Meaning and Great Lessons !! What a Honor !!!
I'm binge watching Lucifer at the moment. The episode (this scene in particular) made me tear up. So much happened that made my heart break for the characters: Lucifer being in his own personal Hell - stabbing his little brother over and over again with the blade. Despite the way he talks about some of his siblings (the ones he mentions), he DOES love them. He wouldn't be suffering like that if he hadn't cared for Uriel. He wouldn't have cried and allowed his mother to hold if he hadn't cared for Uriel. He wouldn't hugged Uriel the way he did, if he didn't have any care for him. Mama Morningstar. She was imprisioned in Hell for eons and eons, yet she went back to save her son. She couldn't let go of the vision of Uriel, the son she can never see again, and BEGGED Lucifer to let her go. Lucifer had to DRAG her away. And all while she is crying, calling Uriel her sweet boy. Say what you will about her and everything she's done, but you can't deny she loves her children. This scene proves it. Amenadiel. Lucifer is in Hell, which had been his God given mission since Season 1, and if he had let them take Chloe, Lucifer would have remained there. Yet there he was, standing his ground by throwing security off him and planting himself in the door way, all the while staring at the doctor. Chloe's Guardian Angel while her Guardian Devil was away. Mazikeen. Hell's number one torturer and Lucifer's right hand woman. The demon who rolls her eyes and bemoans about humans and their pesky little emotions. Yet there she is, crying and almost breaking down when Lucifer almost didn't come back. Who joined in on this plan to save Chloe, the woman she was against in Season 1 because Chloe stopped Lucifer from wanting to get back to Hell. A demon showing human emotions. Doctor Linda. She knows Lucifer is the Devil, knows Mazikeen is a demon, Amenadiel is an Angel and Mama Morningstar is the Goddess of the Universe. She could've walked away from the first three, way before Mama Morningstar showed up. They wouldn't have stopped her. But she didn't. She could have walked away from this plan. She didn't. She offered herself up to go to Hell and get Lucifer back. She starts crying when she tries to bring Lucifer back. I thought she would have disappeared after the first episode in season 1, a throw away character who just be mentioned in passing in the second episode. And I'm glad she wasn't throw away but made a very real character. Dan and Ella. I don't know Ella that well (I'm only on Season 2), but she was willing to doing something illegal to save Chloe. She went and talked with her brother, who still is doing illegal shit, to save Chloe, a woman she probably didn't know that long. And Dan, who had already done something illegal stuff and has been demoted and is probably being watched by the high ups, once again does something illegal to save his ex-wife. I never thought I would like Dan this much, but this scene made me care about him a little more. All of this is happening while the most appropriate music plays. It just solidifies my decision to watch Lucifer because I keep seeing adverts for it pop up on the TV and got a little interested. Do the show have it's problems? Yes, it does. But this scene is where everything - the acting and the music and the editing and everything else - well and truly shines the brightest. And I can't wait to watch more episodes and see how these wonderful characters develop.
THIS SCENE GETS ME EVERY DAMN TIME, ITS SO PERFECT! The way Amenadiel fought back and stood his ground, Maze’s facial expressions thinking Lucifer isn’t coming back, Linda’s look of worry, the sadness in Charlottes eyes when she realized she had no choice but to ‘leave’ her son, the look of relief on Amenadiels face when he realized Lucifer made it, the SONG! Phenomenal 👏🏾
Love how they all came together all of them to save chloe and then save Lucifer. Just so perfect and this scene with this song omg couldnt have been any better. Thankyou cast and also Crew (and whoever chooses the soundtrack!!)
My favorite part was when Lucifer came up to Amenadiel. They both hate eachother for what the other did, btu like brothers they in truth will always love one another.
No one's talking about how Maze started to cry in 1:00 when she thought Lucifer was really dead. Then how happy she was in 1:25 when he came back to life.
Everyone's talking about Armenadiel being a guardian angel for Lucifer but the moment when Lucifer touches his shoulder and he turns around, ready to fight him off, but realises it's his brother and just puts his hand on his shoulder - he knows.
This was the most fantastic and emotional scene in this series. Lucifer is forever changed, amenadiel has found his strength and the truth has come to light about their guilt and the lies their mother has told. It also showed how far they'll each go for eachoher. This entire episode was incredible. It could not have been done better.
"Uriel, my sweet boy.." then the song started then amenadeil protecting chloe and lucifer finally waking up, this was the powerful scene i have ever watched in lucifer. I love this scene so much.
I've watched a ton (and then an actual ton) of shows and a big lot of movies as well, and I must say that this is one of my most rewatched scenes ever. It is absolutely fantastic and anyone who worked on this should feel proud for creating such a piece of emotional art.
Ginger Returns, I like Lucifer, all i'm saying is that it's a stretch to say that Lucifer is the best tv show right now. Game of Thrones, House of cards and Vikings are better by a large margin.
Don’t know about the best show but it’s really the best dark comedy I’ve ever seen. The plot is just so so but the characters are awesome and super relatable, and for once no (at least obvious) gimmick Mary Sue, even GoT had those, you gotta give respect for that, maybe that’s why this show is on fox of all the channels
There's so much love and care for this scene, Mum's love for his dead son, Dan's care for Chloe, Mazikeen's love for Lucifer, Amenadiel is an actual Guardian Angel and Lucifer going back through hell. This is a very emotional scene.
I loved this scene but what I think would have been better is The Angel of Death shows up and Amenadial and him start fighting for Chloe's life or something else is Amenadiel opens his wings
Have watched this on repeat a few times now and literally every single time it gives me chills. So perfectly epitomising the relationship and love that all of these people have for Lucifer, something he until recently didn't even believe anyone was capable of. MASSIVE kudos to the actors, and most importantly to the people working behind the scenes to create this incredible display with perfection on the timing, lighting and music match ups!!
I truly believe this is one of the best scenes I’ve seen in any show. Like this literally almost made my cry. I love the music in this show, but nothing has been as powerful as this moment. It was beautiful and truly earned Lucifer a spot as one of my favorite shows of all time.
I loved this scene but what I think would have been better is The Angel of Death shows up and Amenadial and him start fighting for Chloe's life or something else is Amenadiel opens his wings
There are so many parts of this that make me bawl like a baby. Ammenadiel asks "and you trust me with this?" because he doubts himself without his powers and doesnt think he is worthy, Ammenadiel and Lucifer's trust in each other, the faces maze makes despite being a demon, how frantic dr. Linda is, Charlotte/Mom coming in despite saying no, Charlotte risking being stuck in hell to save Lucifer, how strong Ammenadiel is mentally and physically even without powers because he loves his brother THAT MUCH, Charlotte wanting to stay with Uriel, Lucifer taking that first big breath, Chatlotte looking around the second she is brought back, Lucifer bracing himself before running to Chloe seconds after being brought back from the dead, and the relief on Ammenadiel 's face when he sees Lucifer...aka everything made me cry.
This version is from me before you (beautiful film) and I'm really glad they used this version in lucifer for this emotion scene. It's a very emotional song! I do love X Ambassadors!
I was always attractive to the music, from the first time I heard ""Ain't No Rest For The Wicked" and then we get this powerful, beautiful cast... It was LOVE ❣️❤️💜 at first viewing for these 5 and a half years, I will miss it, but we do have a Season 6! No tears YET!! 😈😈😈🥰🥰🥰
I disagree, Hell would be Hell. We haven't seen it in the show, but probably Goddess would've seen her dear Uriel dying in her arms, or worse, blaming her for everything that happened since she was banished from Heaven.
Amenadiel standing in the doorway is still one of my all time favourite scenes. I love how he just plants himself no words needed no matter what he isn’t moving. It’s such a simple yet powerful moment and unsteady is the perfect song for this scene.
This has to be the most Well done scene I have seen before. The artistic touch needed by the actors, music choice and editors pulls the emotion out with full force. You can feel the emotion from the music and the acting no words needed.
Just started watching this show recently (in time for the newest season, I guess!) and this scene was so powerfully moving. I think it was the right choice to place this song alongside Charlotte and Amenadiel's actions. Who has been more of a father figure to Lucifer in his life than his older brother? Amenadiel standing there fighting to protect Chloe and thus also Lucifer, when all he wants is to return to Heaven? "I know you're trying to fight when you feel like flying" and when Lucifer is still in Hell, while Linda is trying to revive him? "I'm alone, cause this house don't feel like home" Come on!! This song was thematically, and emotionally, the perfect choice for this scene.
I lost my shit when this started playing. And the part where Amenadiel is fighting against the security, made me cry. He is such a big teddy bear. I love him
I have watched quite a few shows and i don't think I have ever rooted for a couple so hard Love the Dynamic between Lucifer and Chloe and props to Amanadiel for finally standing by his brother
Watching that scene in surround sound just makes it even more powerful. I hope they make a season 3 & not cancel the show like they do all the other great shows.
One of the most effective uses of music in a TV show I've ever seen.
Yesssss This is one of the best probably the best And also to mention Sons Of Anarchy Has Insanely Great Use of music too!
This is the best show man!
I like this version of the song more than the original.

I do too. He is doing something that means so much to Lucifer. And seeing the doctors watching him in the background cuz he wouldn't back down had me SOBBING
Ironic that when it said unsteady amenadiel held the doorframe to stay steady
amenadiels role in this scene was so damn powerful he truly is his brothers keeper
Just staring down the doctors. His brother asked this of him. Trusted him with it. And by God he will see it through, or die trying.

I know everyone kind of hated Charlotte, but we have to admit that when she starts fighting to stay with Uriel we all started crying like babies.
Omg yes!
A mother will do anything to be with her children. She was just trying to do what she thought was right.
honestly i she never even reacted that way when uriel died. So that was just her hell. To feel what she lost.
@@Ace_of_Spades6 Yh but the script is bad because she had hardly any reaction when Uriel FIRST died.
At the beginning where she says "Uriel. My sweet boy." I almost started crying.
No almost for me! I cried so hard I had to pause the show for 10 minutes straight until I got my self together 😭❤️
0:58 Maze's face expression made the scene for me. Cried like a baby
This scene is proof that the best acting is often done without words. I mean every single person did amazing.
Amenadiel: you trust me with this?
Lucifer: Brother, you're the most stubborn, bullheaded person i know
1:13 these two seconds, if not less, combined with the music give me unbelievable chills every fucking time i watch this
Valeria Ricci best scene in the series yet
Valeria Ricci fucking Yes. Like it hit me hard
ABSOLUTELY !!! That gets me every single time.... I cry everytime. That's just... deadly.
After he knocks down the three of them and he turns around and walks back into the room
That part gives me chills
God Tom Ellis and the whole cast of #Lucifer just slay it.

Those 2 people who disliked the video where crying to much they couldn't see the buttons and so they pushed the wrong one or they have no heart at all
😂
@@patrykrogala447 wow your a fuckbag....get a life you fucking tool
@@roaringking6528 Why's that?
@@ShminkR6 So what? Your point?
@@ShminkR6 How did you reach that conclusion? Because it's extremely disingenuous.
I'm binge watching Lucifer at the moment. The episode (this scene in particular) made me tear up. So much happened that made my heart break for the characters:
Lucifer being in his own personal Hell - stabbing his little brother over and over again with the blade.
You described everything so well. This scene is just perfect.
@@lilacmoonlightcc Thank :)! One of my favourite scenes of the season.
I ain’t reading all that but I agree
This scene 😱😱😱 Think amenadiel got inspired by trixie when she told him she thinks hes a good man ❤️
Synqd Exactly!
Always108 Now if only they can stage an intervention and convince him it's real.
Always108 i
My favorite part was when Lucifer came up to Amenadiel. They both hate eachother for what the other did, btu like brothers they in truth will always love one another.
Always108 This show is so awesome and so underrated
No one's talking about how Maze started to cry in 1:00 when she thought Lucifer was really dead. Then how happy she was in 1:25 when he came back to life.
loved this scene so much the song is awesome plus amenadiel guarding chloe this was the one episode where amenadiel was my favorite character.....
Hands down, one of the greatest scenes of the show.
Plus the music adds that X factor in this. ❤
Best TV show in the making.
Can't wait till May. 🙁
tanmay jain same
This made me respect Amenadiel so much more
He was standing there making sure, she don’t die
This is one HELL of a great show cant wait for season 3 ,
MsSoulweaver1 ahhh saw what ya did there 😂😂
haha :)
i luv his Devilish nature :)
Why season 3? Season 2 has much more to go, it isn't over. Episode 14 is on May 1st.
sapdude44 I think it was a joke because the end of the season is as far as if it was another season 😉
Lucifer's voice breaking when he says Mum breaks my heart
I think Amenadiel decided he was all in after meeting Trixie for the first time. She could charm the quills off a porcupine!
I mean he helped bring Chole into the world therefore he also brought Trixe into the world. I think he feels responsible for everything that happened.

I don't care who you are, Amenadial in the doorway is one of the best scenes of all time!
I've watched a ton (and then an actual ton) of shows and a big lot of movies as well, and I must say that this is one of my most rewatched scenes ever. It is absolutely fantastic and anyone who worked on this should feel proud for creating such a piece of emotional art.
I've never realized how perfectly this fits this scene!
best show on tv right now
I can tell you haven't watched a lot of TV shows. Do "Vikings, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, or Narcos" ring any bells.
PP Seminole Or it's just their opinion. We don't all like the same stuff buddy. I don't like Narcos but I love Lucifer. Huh, opinions are great
Ginger Returns, I like Lucifer, all i'm saying is that it's a stretch to say that Lucifer is the best tv show right now. Game of Thrones, House of cards and Vikings are better by a large margin.
agreed
Don’t know about the best show but it’s really the best dark comedy I’ve ever seen. The plot is just so so but the characters are awesome and super relatable, and for once no (at least obvious) gimmick Mary Sue, even GoT had those, you gotta give respect for that, maybe that’s why this show is on fox of all the channels
This scene never fails to make me cry
Amenadiel is so attractive when he's in guardian angel mode!
Yep he is. That man doesn't age. you wouldn't believe he's 48
@Arthur Morgan he means the actor, DB woodside, is 48.
One of the most beautiful things ever made....
3 months later still crying over this
High Fiveee!
3 years later still crying over this
Five years later... Yep. Still cry seeing this.
How about now?
the whole scene and music track to it is just EPIC
lucy winchester whats's the song's title?
Juliana Evora Its in the title
Como se llama la cancion porfavor
lucy winchester looks like it still making you cry in your picture
Never tire of this scene its the scene towards the end when both brothers look to one another it shows how much they care for each other
I don't like his mom but she did have me teary eyed on this part.
She is my favorite too😁
I truly believe this is one of the best scenes I’ve seen in any show. Like this literally almost made my cry. I love the music in this show, but nothing has been as powerful as this moment. It was beautiful and truly earned Lucifer a spot as one of my favorite shows of all time.
The music and editing makes these episodes more like mini-movies.
Anyone notice how Charlotte gets revived in the perfect point in the song listen to the lyrics
literally my favourite episode so far...god bless this show(no pun intended)
This is a REALLY awesome version of this song.
Daydreamerrr7 its from X ambassadors😂
This version is from me before you (beautiful film) and I'm really glad they used this version in lucifer for this emotion scene. It's a very emotional song! I do love X Ambassadors!
Yeah but it’s a remix from Erich lee
I was always attractive to the music, from the first time I heard ""Ain't No Rest For The Wicked" and then we get this powerful, beautiful cast... It was LOVE ❣️❤️💜 at first viewing for these 5 and a half years, I will miss it, but we do have a Season 6! No tears YET!! 😈😈😈🥰🥰🥰
0:30-0:45 leaves my heart in shambles each time.
EnderHeart5911 agree wholeheartedly! As a mom I relate... What if that were one of my children? Hell would be heaven
I disagree, Hell would be Hell.
We haven't seen it in the show, but probably Goddess would've seen her dear Uriel dying in her arms, or worse, blaming her for everything that happened since she was banished from Heaven.
No matter how many times I watch this…. Chills
absolutely love this show
Amenadiel standing in the doorway is still one of my all time favourite scenes.
1.15 I can imagine Amenadiel taking stab wounds to defend Chloe on his Brother's behalf if this is a fight scene.
I lost my shit when this started playing. And the part where Amenadiel is fighting against the security, made me cry. He is such a big teddy bear. I love him
I keep coming back to this. The race against time, the drama inducing music and Amenadiels stand... Perfectly executed!
That was the best episode of Lucifer. Everything was perfect as hell, from the reactions to the chosen song. I cried so hard
This is by far the most amazing, heart pounding, heart felt scene of the series imo...and the song choice just set it apart from all others.
this scene single handedly made lucifer the best show edit: EVER
This scene just killed me😢
When I first saw it it got to me too
Pretty sure it killed us all
Is it wrong to say that this one ending made giving every second to this show worth it?! Ahh. Goosebumps!
I have watched quite a few shows and i don't think I have ever rooted for a couple so hard Love the Dynamic between Lucifer and Chloe and props to Amanadiel for finally standing by his brother
This is why Lucifer is my favourite tv show of all time❤️
everything is so perfect. where lucifer tries to get her away from uriel the song begins with "mama, come here. approuch, appear."
This is literally the definition of “I love you to hell and back”
the most dramatic best scene ever
The deepest scene of any TV show ever made. This song was truly made for this scene
Makes me so emotional when I watch this, love the show.
This music is so Lucifer 😭
Watching that scene in surround sound just makes it even more powerful. I hope they make a season 3 & not cancel the show like they do all the other great shows.
This is the best show i've ever watched...the songs and just everything about it is incredible.
This sense made my heart stop
