My mom is a single parent and I have her last name. My uncle doesn't have kids, so the last name ends with me. I'm no where near engaged/married, but I'm pretty set on hyphenating my last name. My name is special to me and I don't want my family name to end with me , so hopefully my husband understands.❤❤ I don't think you should make a video on your abnormal feelings on the engagement, maybe just a ig live talk. Although it wasn't how you expected, like most things in life aren't, Josh and everyone did their best to make it good for you both. Your feelings are valid and as a hopeless romantic as well, I get it but also know we can't dwell on what our expectations were. Plus lets not give any chance to bad energy or comments to yall channel, family & friends.

I think you're 100% right that most people do not talk about the parts of their engagement that sadden/disappointed them because it can sound ungrateful, but I believe it's 100% normal. For me, the engagement itself was beautiful and just the two of us, but the day was exhausting and overwhelming because we were trying to celebrate it in one day since we were long distanced.
I completely understand!! When my husband proposed it was completely unexpected and I was not ready!! My nails wasn't done, I wasn't dressed all cute,nothing🤦🏽♀️it definitely wasn't what I pictured in my head..... I thought we was just having dinner with his brother and sis in law that I was meeting for the first time lol I loved the ring though and was happy very happy to become a fiancee. Almost 2yrs of marriage now and I am more in love than ever with that man❤😍

OMG I got engaged Valentine's day my husband didn't even realize it was Valentine's day until he was trying to figure out where to actually do it. So when we went to where we most familiar I knew that was the time. It was beautiful but not what I expected or pictured. Same with my wedding however, our dating life, our engagement and our wedding was all a testament to life is not what is always planned or expected. Yes! I so appreciate you being willing to show us the “other side” of engagement emotions. When we don’t see other people talking about this kind of stuff, we think we’re the only ones. But I bet when you do that video, you’ll have SOOOOO many comments of people saying me too. Because you are right no matter how long we've been on this journey there is still this little insecurity of will I be seen as beautiful or enough with the hairstyle I choose to wear. I definitely appreciate your transparency about the highs and lows of the emotions of engagement or proposals. A lot of people don't like to share it but it really is a real thing. Ive been w/ my boyfriend 3 years he accidentally let it slip out that hes been bought a ring. I was hurt and actually cried. It was really bittersweet because I knew that we would always get married but I feel like he took stole the moment of anticipation and excitement that I always dreamed about. But nonetheless I still love him and excited but he was iced out for a few weeks lol. Congrats 🎉

Congratulations again ISI! I wanted to share my not so blissful story with you! My engagement was a complete surprise on my birthday! We wait 2 yrs to get married (we wanted to make sure we were financially ready to have a “ big wedding” = 150+ ppl). We planned everything together, no wedding planner; paid for everything ourselves, no debts or credit card payments. Every thing was ready on paper but the day of was a complete disaster! The decorator was late and showed up by herself with no help, my bridesmaids were no where to be found, the limo company was confirmed but forgot to send someone for the wedding party pick up. I had to decorate the church with the help of my aunt, my mom took my car with all the decorations in it, the wedding was to start at 5 but it didn’t start til 7. I FORGOT the shirt under my dress to make it puffy🤦🏾♀️. The pastor didn’t confirm all the ceremonial events he was going to include in the wedding so the wedding lasted for at least 1hr, with the hrs running so long we weren’t able to take wedding day photos at the park but instead we took “ city” photos( which turned out beautiful) and as I write this I realized that with so many other things going wrong I never once thought this isn’t the man God made for me. In fact it assured my faith in our love, because when we finally got announced as husband and wife all the stress melted away and we had a beautiful time at our wedding reception. I share to encourage you to always remember why you love josh and why josh loves you because each level of the relationship is a level of growth and maturity that’s going to require patience and complete vulnerability! My husbae and I are huge fans and we will keep praying for your union!
