- VITREOUS ANATOMY LIKE NEVER BEFORE
In this video we talk in detail about all the aspects of the vitreous anatomy(A-Z)
The vitreous is an inert, transparent gel situated between the lens and the retina. It serves optical function for the eye as well as acts like a tamponade for the eye.
In this video we talk about the important topography of the vitreous. We discuss about the constituents of the vitreous, focusing on each and every constituent in detail. The vitreous humor is 98-99%water. Collagen type 2 forms the major part of the vitreous. Apart from that we have other extracellular matrix proteins like hyaluronic acid, chondroitin sulphate, VIT-1 protein etc.
We talk in detail about the parts of vitreous, namely the hyaloid membrane, vitreous cortex and medullary vitreous. Also we talk about their attachments.
There has always been a controversy regarding the inner structure of the vitreous. Some believe it to be membranous and others believe it to be cisternal. The video addresses both these schools of thoughts.
At every point we also discuss about relevant clinical points
