    This is freaky. A few days ago I had laser surgery to cauterize a retinal tear. Now, if I tilt my head way back and look up, I can see a dark mass flow into my field of view. I presume it to be blood, and floats at the top of the vitreous humor.

    Thank you, this was extremely informative. I was recently diagnosed with Spontanious Posterior Vitreous Detachment in both eyes and a bleed in my right eye. At my second follow up appointment they discovered three tears in the retina of my right eye and I had emergency laser treatment for this. Since then they have found I have a Vitreous Heamorage in that eye. I have a lot of floaters and my vision in that eye is not good. It's like trying to see through a thick fog with thousands of black dots and shapes that swirl around all the time. I can't focus with it. When I asked if anything could be done about it, they said the blood usually gets reabsorbed, so they will wait. They didn't tell me how long I would have to wait. I am unable to work or drive in this condition and found it very frustrating at how vague the information I was given was.
    Thank you again.

      @@InsightOphthalmology Update: My retina detached 8 days ago and I had surgery 7 days ago. I now have a gas bubble in my eye, but can see a little over the top of it. The floaters went along with the vitreous, so I'm hoping to have good vision once the bubble goes. The macula was off though, so I'm worried I won't have good central vision

      @@InsightOphthalmology Thank you, my gas bubble dissapeared on day 15 post surgery. My sight in that eye is there, including central vision, but a little distorted (I only notice this if I close my good eye). At my follow up appointment my Surgeon said my vision still has some improvement to go. I'm looking forward to when it's done improving so I can get new glasses and have crystal clear vision again 👀😃🥳💖

      Hello 👋, I’m reading what you wrote and I’m afraid I have that condition. I have all the symptoms and today I was doing some heavy lifting of boxes and furniture. At first, I felt something floating in my right eye now by the end of the day I close my left good eye and see blurry with my right eye. I can’t read and can’t see; it is as if I’m seen through a dirty blurry glass. I’m afraid and need help and don’t know what to do. I’m afraid and desperate I might lose my right eye.

    Hello Docter.
    My Mother had a sudden vision loss in her right eye 1 month ago. My Eye Docter said she had Viterus Hemorrhage and they couldn’t pin point the reason for the bleeding due to the blood blocking the view of the retina during the dilated eye exam. We did a B scan and the docter said they didn’t find any other concerns and told us to wait and see if the blood clears up on its own. My Mother has Diabetes for about 15 years now but it’s controlled. She’s 65 years old.
    In the meantime docter prescribed Keterolac tromethamine 0.4% eye drops 4 times a Day for 3 months.
    Isn’t 3 months too long for Ketrolac Eye Drops? We have noticed a tiny vision improvement in the past 1 month. Should we continue with the eye drops? Or should we discontinue?
    Thank you in advance!

      if she is diabetic then retinopathy is a common thing, an ultra sound scan should confrm it if they cant see into the eye,

    • @Memepakha
      @Memepakha 9 місяців тому +1

      @@AmanyElgendy-sy8po Hello, I'm so sorry to hear that. Our ophthalmologist had advised us to wait for a few months to see if the hemorrhage gets absorbed on its own. Improvements were pretty slow for the first 2 months. But all of a sudden the blood clot inside her eye caused a cataract to form in her eyes. Doctor advised for a cataract surgery and only after the cataract is removed they can see inside the vitreous of the eye and see if the bleeding had been absorbed or not. We spent a whole month getting second opinions from multiple other ophthalmologist. All of them advised to get the surgery done. So, we finally got the Cataract removed and thankfully the hemorrhage had been fully absorbed and her vision got fully restored.
      So, if the bleeding isn't a lot your Mother bleeding should get absorbed within 3-4months time. Just make sure to follow doctors advices. Make sure she gets a lot of rest, make sure she doesn't bent over a lot as that increases eye pressure and can cause further bleeding. Praying her for a speedy recovery.

The next day the blood got bigger so they sent me to a bigger hospital and they did MRI and blood test, which were okay. I am an ophthalmologist. Why there is difference in clotting in vitreous haemorrhage a at intra and sub retinal haemorrhage.

    • @vaishaliphadke7577
      @vaishaliphadke7577 2 роки тому

      Why vitreous haemorrhage dose not clot as like other tissue?

    • @InsightOphthalmology
      @InsightOphthalmology  2 роки тому

      The presence of vitreous collagen matrix promotes rapid clotting..
      So i think it's the scaffold that vitreous provides for a better clot than the intraretinal and subretinal location..

  • @vaishaliphadke7577
    @vaishaliphadke7577 2 роки тому +3

    My question is vitreous haemorrhage will resolve itself upto 3 months. If not then vitrectomy is advised. For 3 months why it’s clot is not formed and gets settled in bottom.

    • @InsightOphthalmology
      @InsightOphthalmology  2 роки тому +2

      Becoz it forms membranes which may or may not settle... It will never be as clear as old vitreous... It it's a minor bleed it might...
      Major bleeds would need vitrectomy
