  • One of 12 WPS-2800 series sirens in Fort Dodge, located across the street from the Fort Dodge Middle School, sounding Wail. This video was taken about 340 Ft. from the base of the siren's pole
This is another old upload with my old watermark, since I edited it before the channel name change. I met up with Sam, Mikey and Chris at a siren in fort dodge since it was something to do on a first Saturday and I had never heard a Whelen do proper wail before, and it was a pretty fun time. This was also my first time hearing a 2800 series up close, and I didn't realize the larger screens on the 2800s would hiss nearly as loud as they did. Since Fort Dodge has a pretty large system, we got an amazing ambience at the end, hearing all of the Whelens near us wind down one after another, and the camera picked it up fairly well too.
    The sirens heard during the wind down, roughly in order, are as follows: 1st Ave S and S 16th St 2806 (1.34 Mi), 10th Ave S and S 32nd St 2806 (1.43 Mi), N 32nd St. 2807 (1.47 Mi), 20th Ave N and N 15th St 2809 (1.48 Mi), 11th Ave S and S 22nd St 2805 (1.69 Mi.), 2nd Ave S and N 10th St 2806 (1.75 Mi), Hawley Lions Park 2809 (2.28 Mi), 15th Ave SW and S 15th St 2809 (2.31 Mi), Riverside School 2809 (2.56 Mi), 3rd Ave W and 11th St NW 2806 (3.15 Mi), 21st Ave S 2806 (3.68 Mi).
