Age gap is not so much a problem for the couple, for them it dont matter so much, the issue if any is for the onlookers who love to judge others from the position of there own misery and jealousy . You Have one life ,"you will pass by this way just once" so go ahead and live this life with a person who loves you and count your blessings for the opportunity given, enjoy your time today daily because case in point is leahs first relationship where her partner sadly died aged just 21, you dont know how long you have got on this planet... Live your life and share your love with each other ,cherish the time you have . Ignore the idiots as you live your simple yet very blessed loving life. x
I am married to Filipina. I was 52 and she was 26. I am 69 now and she is 43. I never regret a minute. She is so loving and hard working and fun. I try not to think about it. I just want to enjoy life. The biggest problem is trying to support her family. I finally try to back off on helping. It is never enough and they do not appreciate the sacrifices we make to help them. It is better to let them take care of themselves. It makes them dependent and they do not try to better themselves.

It's better to limit yourself on helping family's esp: when is not appreciated then bombarded them with money and gift's all the time they will just take advantage i think the less you help them the more respect you will get in return from my experienced so just live your life naturally and let God lead you the way God bless everyone

My Filipina age gap is 21 years, 70 vs. 49. It's fine. This relationship, though 38 years, seems to be okay. The guy is in excellent physical for his age, which is a plus.
You are right you will not grow old together, but then I thought I would grow old with my wife however even though she was 5 years younger than me and she passed away at age 47!
My girlfriend is 28 and I’m 67 and we’ve been together 4 years and at first I had misgivings but she kept insisting that she wanted me. Now I don’t think about it as it’s a relationship. We have our fights just like anyone else but we love each other at the end of the day. I try to keep God in the center of our relationship. She is Catholic but does not read the Bible so I try to teach you some things that I’ve learned.
I do not go through life looking for things to criticize! Live and let live, I just control my life and everyone else can find there own way of happiness!

The biggest challenge is as you age Gary, your wife will end up as your carer. How you transition to that will help you stay together till the end. Give her as many good years as you can, and keep her over there and you stand a very good chance of being successful. 👍

This is a good topic. I am 67 and my wife is 28, we have been together for 10 years and I also feel younger just like you do when I am married to someone who is much younger than me. We will pass away long before our wives and they will probably remarry, that's sad haha. I and my wife have children and our big issue at the moment is whether to decide for our children to grow up in Spain with high education and no family since I am from Norway, or move back to the Philippines where my wife's family is from and limited school education. We also have very little social life here due to our age difference, couples in their 60s-70s don't want to socialize with old/young couples (I do understand them). In the Philippines, we have a family but I don`t want to live too close to them even thought they are nice, you easily become an ATM for them every time there is something.
My wife and I are in many ways on two different planets, but I've learned to let her have the last word if we disagree, it works fine and we haven't argued in years. My wife is of course very beautiful and a very good wife and mother too. I recognize a lot of how you describe their relationship, almost so that I could say the same about me and my wife hehe.
Can't say that we will live cheaper in the Philippines either, since the cost level here in Spain is somewhat lower overall than in the Philippines, after all, I lived in the Philippines for 10 years before we moved here 7 years ago, so I know much about all the unexpected expenses that always pop up in The Philippines, although cheap to live there anyway. The healthcare system is bad and not to be trusted either, a lot of crime and guns in the Philippines and the number one rule is not to argue with anyone in the Philippines even if you are right. Most Filipinos are friendly but there are pros and cons like in all countries. I guess I simply miss the sunset hehe, and the simple life. The same case for my wife, she prefers the Philippines, but our kids love school here, so we do as they used to say in the Philippines, wait for a while 🙂.
If you can't admit to the negative, you will never fix them. We all make mistakes, admitting to them is how we learn and grow to be better people. There will always be people that are jealous and hate you for what you have that they don't, and they want, let them say whatever they want and ignore them, just live your lives together in happiness.

Nice age gap conversation. Thanks. I met my Thai wife when I was 60 and she was 35. We have been together 5 years, married for 3 years. (= 25 yr age gap). My western friends have been supportive. My sister in the US is less so but we still get along. As to who gets what in the relationship I am quite comfortable with, in fact consider it normal, that she gets maturity and financial security and I get companionship. All of that is compatible with a love relationship. Relationships are more than one thing. This is quite common, when I die she will, of course, be relatively young but I will leave her with land and a house and some amount of money to restart her life. When I think about it I would recommend choosing a partner over 30 years old (maturity considerations) but whatever works is OK. Certainly discuss the issue of children early on as well as whether to live in the west or in Asia. Westerners are hung up on the romantic love question of “will she love me if I am poor”. I don’t think that that is a helpful perspective. I think relationships are more complicated than that and that Asians have a more honest approach to that question.
The highlight of this conversation is when the girl said we enjoy the moment coz we don’t know if I will die first! That’s the reality we don’t know what in store in the future you’re young but you might go first!🥲

One of the sweetest videos I have seen on this topic because it went beyond just the topic. We as viewers don't always get to experience the thoughts and emotions behind what you are saying but today it came through.
I am 48, and my Pinay GF is 20. I chose her, and she chose me. I find that it does feel awkward because of the Western attitude that age gap is taboo. I have had to sell myself that her love is true. Her actions have proven that she loves me. Money may be part of it, but not all. Every one needs security as well as love. My first marriage to a Pinay lasted 22 years, 15 very happy. Now I find myself looking for younger so I can have more kids. I did try for an American woman, but they are too materialistic, let their health suffer, and are past the family making stage. Yes, my GF has wild mood swings. That takes getting used to. I guess I do too. We are both committed, and have not left.
I do feel guilty about not growing old with her. I will, but she will be alone and in her 40s. I hope that the children we raise will keep her company and remind her of my love. I will save something for her, but she can take care of herself.

My wife and I were one year apart I lost her to cancer 8 years ago. We were together for 18 years.
I have a friend who was in a similar situation. There was a 21 year age gap and the marriage lasted for over 20 years. The marriage was fine until he entered a different stage of life. The problem was when he retired at age 65 the couple had different goals. He wanted to do retirement things live travel and spend time at the cottage. She was 44 and still loved her job. So they fought a lot and broke up two years later.

Of all the UA-cam channels that I watch that has to do with the Philippines and Age Gap relationships, this is by far the best video I have seen. I was married for 30 years, so I know what a long-term relationships is, and I'm at a point now where I am pretty clear about what I want (in a relationship)… I have been a widower now for 15 years, even now without a single a date.... sad I know, but true. I just have not been able to bring myself out of the funk.... I would like very much to find a GREAT Filipina for me..... BUT....... I am now 70, but in GOOD Health, but now I feel that I am too old to find someone who would not only complete me (as a Partner) but who would be young and give me another zest for life. I was 44 when I met my fili of 35, I'm 60 now she is of course 51. I look 60, she still looks 30. Age is just a number. This is a great video you've done here... Good on both of you for speaking about what can be an awkward conversation. My experience is the older ladies in Australia looking at us sideways with a glare, sad old ducks are just jealous.

He noted a Pinay's biggest fear is "cheating" or her man cheating and then leaving her - a very common occurrence with young "in-shape" Filipinos. This is why foreigners are in play...they typically are older (i.e., emotionally / physically mature), have resources, less likely to cheat, and most are not exactly Adonis - so other Filipinas are less likely to target them. Competition for mates there evidently is intense. That said, after watching many videos of ex-pats there, I absolutely agree with you...they're seriously obese...less Jollibee's and more salads.

I'm pinoy born&raised in pinas... 59yrs old too....and my second wife is 37yrs old and also single-mom... We have 2daughters together plus 2 children from my first wife and her son which makes 5 all in all.... We're celebrating 11yrs together this April and still going strong!!!

I have spent many weeks with her and her family in the Philippines, and we have experienced the same minor issues you discussed in your video. But the bottom line is that we are happy together, and our relationship works. What is most important is that your strengths blend together to make a very strong relationship.

I didn't realize that Leah was that young.. But one of my main fears would be exactly Life expectancy ... It's a hard thing to realize that like Gary will most likely die between 15 and 30 years where Leah could Live 3 times that ... She's got a great outlook through... It's definitely important to make sure that the Filipina is financially set up before the foreigner passes away.

I will soon be 67 and my Filipina wife is 32. We hardly ever think of the age gap. As a province girl, she worked in Cebu City for 7 years in a factory and in domestic work for righer families. She also has a 7 year old son which she raised herself for the first 3½ years before we met. That has caused her to be quite mature for her age.. we have been married and living in the province for almost 4 years now and are very compatible. Her personality is older than her years, and she has made me feel and behave much younger. So, comparing their 35 year age gape to in the West, it is more like a 5 to 10 year western age gap.

Thank you for this video. I actually was worried about the age gap more than my girl is. They're 17 years difference between us. I know a couple of her friends were creating some drama about it in the beginning but after time they came around. But besides that I really don't see age as a problem. There's a big difference between age and maturity. Again I really appreciate this video it was a big help
My wife and I (significant age gap) talk openly and freely about her "next life" (which is when I'm gone). I want all the best for her. I have been living in the Philippines for 11 years 7 years married plus 2 years dating to the women to the woman I'm with and I have seen so many foreigners with teenage Filipino girls
What these foreigners do is take them from their hometown to someplace different and isolate them basically these guys are pedophiles

As long as there is dignity and respect, the age gap is not that relevant. He can offer her a lot more that the average Filapino man can, especially financially. As long as he will set her up to be comfortable after he is gone I consider it a win-win. He gets her youth and beauty and she gets his stability from a financial and maturity standpoint.

Personally I believe that anyone from any culture around the world no matter what the justifications understand the driving factors in this type of relationship, personally I think it’s a pretty fair trade off but I think it makes it look wrong to hear people hiding from the reality. I would respect much more, yes she’s with me because of wealth and I’m with her because of beauty and youth but in that arrangement we found affection for one another.
Answer these questions honestly and then enjoy your arrangement.
For her: How likely would this relationship have been if given the same personality traits he was a 59 year old Filipino trike driver with a meager income?
For him: would you still have been drawn to her if she having the same personality traits was a 60 year old of average looks and body?

We try to extend our hands in friendship and to lend a hand when needed.
