That common misconception has spread so far that even current management there seems to be under that impression aside from things like all the Epcot festivals. Universal...idk if I remember them ever specifically stating their target audience, but I know they have a lot of experiences that are actually supposed to be geared more for everyone than modern Disney. You've got plenty of attractions and events for kids, plenty of attractions and events for teens, and even adults have a lot to enjoy between the intense attractions that I'm guessing you're saying are meant for teens, the drinks, and the nightlife!

I feel they should have done the jeep tour instead of the boat ride in the first place. It would have been far easier to maintain since letting the animatronics sit in water for years is why so many of them are perpetually malfunctioning. I got to do the Van Helsing walk through in Hollywood, and it was great fun. Getting to walk through the actual set of Dr. Frankenstein's lab was absolutely amazing.
Seems like this entire video just showed us why Dark Universe is gonna go freaking HARD when Epic Universe opens. The cancelled Van Helsing ride is what the Monsters Unchained ride is going to be.

Technically we do have the Jurrasic world jeep attraction in the new Universal Studios in China. You have a calm ride at the start, the dinosaur who blocks the path and diverts the vehicle and even being chased with a really impressive animatronic Indominus Rex. No idea truly dies at Universal.

With Epic Universe using portals as entries into their worlds, the way Looney Tunes was thought up with the iconic circles at the beginning of each cartoon as the entrance would work really well at the new park. No good idea stays dead.
A Casper ride taking place inside Whipstaff Manor would have been amazing! There’s so much to build on. And as one of the few people who likes Van Helsing. I think a ride would have been cool
These all seem so cool! As a huge Jurassic fan, I think the Jurassic Park jeep tour would’ve been the most interesting for me. It’s so cool to see how these concepts evolved into other projects though! It’s fun to trace the lineage of these attractions and see what previous ideas inspired them.
Not gonna lie. As a classic monsters fan as well as a fan of Van Helsing. A land based on the Classic Monsters is an amazing idea. Not only does it you know. FIT Universal, but I'm always down to see classic monsters and maybe even modern versions of them running around, scaring people like Halloween Horror Nights came early or something xD

The fact the Cryptkeeper is a HHN IP icon and yet we only got a few Tales From The Crypt/Cryptkeeper haunted house attractions - baffles me. I would have liked a whole scarezone/maze based around the show.

Even though it _is_ a tad too similar in plot & story beats to the 'River Adventure' attraction, as a longtime "Jurassic" fan, I *still* wish the "Jeep Safari" attraction would've been built; I'm sure that had it been built, certain story beats and plot elements could've been changed around and/or tweaked so that it wouldn't have been _too_ similar to "River Adventure."
True! It seems like a weak excuse. I’d assume another reason was that River Adventure was further into development, considering a near clone existed in Hollywood. It was likely easier and cheaper to green light the more fully baked project. A few narrative tweaks could’ve helped Jeep Safari. It’s a shame it went unbuilt.

I saw the Beetlejuice show once when I went to FLorida, it was a good show really fun. it is also interesting to see how the idea's were reworked into existing ideas and how some aspects are even being integrated into Epic Universe.
I remember going when I was very young, when IoA opened, we were driving to the park and there was this really creepy billboard that kinda changed the closer you got, it was of the twins in The Shining. It’s very vivid, I always wonder what it was for.
You know as a kid i had an idea for a Jurassic park jeep ride. My main idea was that it was supposedly driven by a driver and that the car would go in a construction site to lose the Raptors by hiding in a large pipe only for the t-rex to appear at the end of the pipe roar and then pull its head back out and whacking the pipe, it would roll and the car would roll over in the pipe come to a stop. The driver would ask if people were ok and as he looks back he would scream "its coming back" and the t rex would appear behind and roar and the driver would supposedly gun the engine and it would drive to the next scene.
Just saw this video. Universal and Disney routinely go by survey's to get guests feedback. So if you get a survey fill it out. I'm sure there's other variables but the parks can't give you rides and attractions if they don't know what you want.

6:24 I followed IOA development and subsequent opening, always holding on the hope that the JP keep ride was coming in a second phase. Every time I walked the path between Toon Lagoon and Jurassic Park near the splash pad and backstage gates I’d make my wish that we’d get the Jeep Ride soon. Then when it was decided that Kong Skull Island would take that plot of land, I finally had to accept the fact that the Jeep ride was no more.
I don't know. None of these really speak to me but I find it amazing that Van Helsing's Kuka Arm Ride is kind of getting built in a weird way at Epic Universe if you believe the rumors! Great stuff! :D
A modern take on the jeep ride maybe the hydrosphere from Jurassic World? Would be could if you could choose paths like the Casper concept. I also always thought it would’ve been cool if they had a mosasaurus animatronic lift from the water of the lagoon right before you do the barrel roll on Velocicoaster.

That's a good comparison! But Earthquake originally opened in Hollywood in 1989, later in Florida in 1990. This concept was thrown around in the mid to late '90s.
All of these themes sound like far better ideas than most of the stuff they include in US parks. They're fun to visit maybe once or twice, but have no appeal to return again like Disney, Six Flags, ans Knotts do. Harry Potter World changed that, but it's a bit sad how much traction that section gets in comparison to the rest of the park.
The fact that none of these have any information beyond the concept is a huge bummer but it also made me realize how much of UA-cam is just guys talking to fill in space for their concepts for videos so in reality or lack thereof the rides would have just been concepts with inconsequential content to fill in the space of the concept. Tons of ride concepts are thrown around. It all depends on how much info gets released to the public after the fact. Some get sealed in a vault, others are leaked later on, and few get revealed in full detail.

The Stephen King ride would have been amazing
The fact that none of these have any information beyond the concept is a huge bummer but it also made me realize how much of UA-cam is just guys talking to fill in space for their concepts for videos so in reality or lack thereof the rides would have just been concepts with inconsequential content to fill in the space of the concept.

Tons of ride concepts are thrown around. It all depends on how much info gets released to the public after the fact. Some get sealed in a vault, others are leaked later on, and few get revealed in full detail.
