Just received my hinge 2 today and out of the box I love the way it feels and the improvements from the first gen are nice. My first hinge was a tru ball fulcrum flex that I've had for about 2 years now, I picked up the ultraview hinge for black friday and enjoyed it but definitely thought it had room for improvement. The stainless ultraview hinge matches my fulcrum flex almost exact in weight and the noiseless magnetic head along with the adjustability it provides are awesome. Excited to marry myself to this release and send a ton of shots downrange.
I’ve been shooting the original hinge for a while and absolutely love that hinge and now have been shooting the hinge 2 for a week so far and absolutely love that release. I have both the stainless with the aluminum hunting bracket as well as the aluminum with the stainless hunting bracket and have to say i like the aluminum with the stainless hunting bracket because it gives it just enough weight for me. I did notice the difference between the clicks at first but now that I’ve been shooting it everyday i have got used to it completely. Thanks for the video.
The more and more i shoot it the less I notice the click. I have set my click so it “clicks” just after I anchor and center my scope up. I’m going to have to me an update video. 😂
I have both versions and once I had my hinge 2 set up the way I like it the click's felt very similar to me. Maybe with the new dual moon system the hotter you have it Set to fire after the click The click feels more subtle. If you have it set very cold so you have to pull a long way after the click. the click is more pronounced That might be What you're encountering
Some 5/16ths dental bands around the head of the gen 1 Hinge will keep it from rattling around and just require clicking the hook back behind the moon after a shot. It also helped me stop accidentally running through the click while hooking onto my d-loop. That said, I have one of these coming as well since, why not? I will say that the click on the gen 1 is so subtle, I've never been able to tell if I've run through it on a draw or not while it competes with random creaks in my bow and my hands/joints.
Been shooting the original Hinge since they first came out and haven't used any other release since. I've hunted with it and killed 2 of the biggest deer of my life with it doubled lunged both (92 and 100 yards). I'm excited to see if the Hinge 2 is a substantial upgrade
I have both aluminum versions now. I'd say the aluminum 2.0 weights about double the original aluminum. I like the weight a lot better than the original. I loved the original but it did feel like it would break lol. But the new aluminum has a tad bit more weight. Definitely noticeable but not heavy at all. I'd say it weights a solid double
I just got mine today; I did find the click startled me on the first couple of shots. It was similar to how it did when I used a hinge with a click for the first time. But I got used to it and didn't notice it anymore after 20 or so shots. The crispness of the break felt a little different too, not better or worse, just different.
Nothing, quality is always king in my opinion. But when it comes to which brand or style, that’s up to you to figure out what feels best for you. Keep an eye on the used market, that’s always a way to get something at a discount and try.
when they put the click on the moon it might not have been made to be as shallow as the click on the hook. maybe its just that way when you make a two moon adjustable HINGE. I know the feeling you're talking about, I have the same sensation with my Scott Accent and Trufire SearX. Hope you find something you like about it.
Awesome Jeff, we are so impressed! How much did you bet the guys you could get it in 3? With your winnings, buy yourself a new target, and some prettier pieces of cardboard to hold it in place!!!!lol
the difference between the clicks is caused because the click on the 1 is built into the hook, so the click isn’t really attached to the rest of the release. On the new one it is build into the moon, the moon is built into the body part of the release which makes it way more noticeable. On the first one they use the smaller click as a plus to the release, now they have forgotten all about that.
I understand that, it just creates a different “click” than I am use to. I think I prefer the softer click of the hinge 1. I’m gonna shoot a couple hundred arrows through it before I make a definite decision.
I’m thinking the weight difference between the two, has some, to do with the more noticeable click. I wonder what the H2, aluminum “click” feels like compared to the H2 stainless “click” anyone compare these two yet? I was going for the stainless but this might make me go with the Aluminum.
Not yet. I probably will have one coming in the next few months but I will say that I am enjoying it and the “clunk” I felt on my initial impressions isn’t something I even notice anymore. I am pleased with the release and am shooting it well
The shot itself breaks clean. I will probably switch it over to no click and shoot it like that sometime this spring and see how that feels. I have the options now to do it without having to buy the extra hook.
I have both aluminum and brass originals, the brass is new and the click is substantially louder than the aluminum which has been shot thousands of times
Was going to buy this release until I came across people that were just putting an o-ring on the head of the original to stop the clicking and rattling. Works great. Shoots the same. I don’t really feel the need to have the further adjustment that the new hinge has. The original sets up nicely as is and I know I would’ve just set the new one the same. If they can figure out a way to make a hinge that can hang on to the d loop like a thumb button does, I’ll be all over that. Until then, the original is just fine once you do the o-ring mod. I also wrapped it with tennis racket tape for a better feel and it makes a tiny bit wider.
I just posted again on AT....order a second or even a third one and see if it's any different? Maybe get another stainless and an aluminum? My H2 aluminum with the stainless bracket is an awesome weight combo and the click on that one is whisper quiet. Good luck and don't give up on the H2...it's too n ice to give up too soon. I bet if you didn't own that "quiet" H1 you may not have even noticed or had a louder H1 like I had.
I get WAY too jumpy on hinge releases. I picked up a Ghost... that thing almost made me develop target panic. I've been far more comfortable with Carters thumb releases
I was the same way, gave myself 3 months shooting 5 days a week to decide if I can do it or not. The less I shot at dot and just shot, the easier it became and more comfortable I was.
I k no ow this is old and I have not read any comments, but imagine someone that has some hearing loss. That louder click will help them And not hurt you. It’s just different. I want one. I am just having a hard time justifying $300 for one of them.
You’ll get used to it in no time !! And you’ll laugh about yourself in a few weeks 🤪 but the thing is the release is not setup the way it should coz you’re afraid. It’s not the click which makes the string move, it’s you. I bet on a too quick click’s travel which scares you. Your shot preparation is not complete when it clicks on the video. It was on the hinge 1 footage. 😉
Your not wrong, it’s not setup yet the way I prefer it but it’s getting closer. The more and more I shoot it the less I realize it. I’m going to have to make a “correction” video in the near future 😂
Just shoot with out the click, I shoot my hinge with out the click I don’t have to worry about the click at all. The click it’s making you loosing concentration.
I don’t like the magnet aspect. Seems like it takes a ton of back pressure to get the magnet to even even get it to move to the moons. Not impresssed so far, but gonna give it some more time. Loved the hand fit, loved the adjustment of the two moons but the magnet as of now is a head scratcher to me. Have you noticed that aspect any?
My click is set close to the point the magnet releases. I don’t notice it, but I guess that could also be part of the reason the click is so “big”. Could be that energy from the magnet releasing as the click is happening.
@@jeffcordero_ yeah might be, I like to set mine so hot that i can notice it. The amount of back tension I have to use to get it to come off the magnet is intense lol. I guess I can try to rotate my hand to the click while I anchor then start it from there. Just would be cool if the magnet wasn’t as strong to get the process started quicker.
I’m not saying it’s new. I like how the release feels and the comfort I have with it. I’m happy to see that now UltraView has 2 moons in there new release.
The vibration is the difference in the aluminum and the stainless man. Ive been a fabricator for 33 years and stainless has much more vibration

Thats why I went with the stainless for the 2.0. I thought the original was almost too light. Im happy with my decision regardless.

Agreed. It’s not bad, it’s just different. I’m gonna put a couple hundred shots through it before I decide if it’s for me or not
Considering going to hinge or resistance ,…. From index. What should i look for? Be aware of?

How does the neck length of the Hinge 2 compare to the Scott? I'm thinking about getting one but if it's longer than the Scott it'll be a challenge.
I just got mine it's a game changer for sure my groups are insane now. Is that medium or large?
Medium

@@papi_chu6887 hahaha I’m sure the secondary market will be hot
I’ve got both. I also noticed the clunky click but after a few shots I didn’t notice it much. I didn’t like it the first handful of shots though.

@@jeffcordero_ nice, let us know that you think about it without the click.
@@swamibr0 I will, follow me on social media, thats probably the best way to follow along.
How do you punch the trigger on a hinge release?
You can easily roll through the moon and make it go off instead of getting the surprise shot
Like the T. Follow that channel as well.
I have both aluminum and brass originals, the brass is new and the click is substantially louder than the aluminum which has been shot thousands of times
So what is your favorite release both thumb and hinge ?
What is your favorite upgrade with The Hinge 2?
Do u feel a difference in your hand while at full draw? Being that the newer version is a little thicker? I shoot the original hinge and love it
@@lanceboteilho6189 it feels bigger obviously but I it didn’t effect anything like my anchor. Still has the same feels and the Gen 1

I’d sell them both and get a Truball HBC Flex and call it done.
I believe its the different material the old is aluminum and the new one is stainless steel
The Hinge 2 aluminum is heavier than the first hinge aluminum.
