    I have learned that reviews on the Sephora website are not useful for me. Aside from the issue of whether they are legitimate reviews, many of them are attributed to women who are fairly young. As an older woman, I just don’t see this group as having much in common with me. I just don’t even bother to check them out anymore.

    • @becauseimafan
      @becauseimafan 4 роки тому +24

      Oh, well for what it's worth anyway, I use their filter function to get reviews of the specific shades/etc for what I'm interested in of a product, and you can filter for specific features if reviewers put them in their profile, like Age Range, thereby removing any not in the ranges you selected. By filtering, I've had *some* better luck finding more genuine-sounding reviews. I also usually flip between all the Sorting options to see the Oldest reviews and Lowest ratings and such, to try to get a better idea of if I'm more likely to get the bang for my buck, or not. Your mileage may vary though, and probably will.

    I am glad to have a dermatologist to give us the medical wisdom of the day on skin care. However, we are all so different that products that work for many may not work for you. I have tried some of the products for rosacea recommended by Dr Dray. Some worked well and some were very irritating for me. This is no reflection on her knowledge and expertise. Dr Dray's best advice....buy from places with liberal return policies. Due to her advice I have found a few new products which work well for me. Thanks for the videos Dr Dray.

I had been waiting for a video to say if it was going to be a good dupe for the Drunk Elephant protini polypeptide moisturizer, because that's been my nightly moisturizer for years, and I was excited about a possible $15 dupe instead of almost $70. But at least now I feel okay/justified spending the $70 knowing that the other product is subpar and that the more expensive is a superior product in this case! I love the Supergoop eye sunscreen! It doesn't ball up on my skin, but I do have oily skin. I don't use it for undereye makeup coverage... I don't think it's meant for that. I do like that it's tinted because it doesn't leave a weird white cast on my skin.

      I use several of their products including shampoo and conditioner and for the price point Oribe has given me better results. I tried the elixir shampoo (the original and the reformulation) and it gave amazing, iridescent shine but it was very drying. The deep conditioner from that same line is rather underwhelming. I still planning on trying some of their other shampoos.
      Kerastase's styling products, however, can't be beat. My HG is the Fibre Architect which for some godforsaken reason they discontinued. Also the Forme Fatale is good and discontinued for reasons unknown. Use at your own risk.

    I have rosacea and highly sensitive skin and I REALLY like and use the Murad water cream daily. It’s expensive but my combo skin drinks it up and it doesn’t irritate my rosacea. My skin can be dehydrated but creams are usually too heavy for daily use. I personally like the fragrance and found it fairly light and refreshing but hey: to each her own! 🤷🏻‍♀️🔮

      I’d love to hear her thoughts too!
      I’m definitely not Dr Dray but I recently purchased the Biologique Recherche Lait EV Cleanser on recommendation from my esthetician, and it’s really nice but it was SO expensive for a milk cleanser (so similar to la Roche posay) and I also got a sample of P50V and a moisturizer. The P50V didn’t make that much of a difference on my skin, it was nice but not a game changer but the moisturizer is literally like perfumed body lotion despite it being the lipid replenishing one for sensitive skin. My mum has just started using their colostrum serum though and her skin is looking incredible pairing that with cheaper, fragrance free cleanser and moisturizer.

    • @fatimaaaaaaaaa
      @fatimaaaaaaaaa 4 роки тому +4

      Hi! I’ve been using Biologique Recherche products for almost a year now, and I’ve used most of the products in their line. In my opinion and personal experience, the lotion P50 is amazing, as long as you get the right variation for your skin type, and don’t overdo it with the exfoliation when you’re using it. The face creams aren’t worth the price and I haven’t seen good results with any of them, apart from some light hydration. The masks, however, are incredible and some of the best I’ve used from any brand - especially masque vivant, masque pigm400 and creme masque vernix. The cleansers feel nice and luxurious but I don’t think they’re worth the price. Same goes for the serums, they’re alright, but they won’t do any miracles for your skin and the ingredients are mostly plant and animal extracts. Not a fan of the serums.

But one year after religiously watching her videos and not using fragrant skincare I must say now skincare with fragrance repulse me and I'm spreading the word about non fragrant skincare to everyone.
    My only problems are chemical sunscreens in Europe. As someone with oily skin, I hate how most chemical sunscreens (especially with 50SPF and higher) make my skin shiny and more oily. I have given away or throw away dozens of bottles of different sunscreens because of this reason.

      Totally agree. I spent YEARS purchasing products from L’Occitane. Lots of money- and for what? Pretty jars for $110? I started watching this channel and buying Vanicream, CeraVe and Neutrogena hyaluronic acid. Much happier!
