Glad you're liking our rack Justin! I'm always slightly updating the design of these to make them better so one thing thats different in the newest edition (probably been out for 6-7 months) is an includes cable guide that is quick/tooless to get around the brake cable so getting the rack on and off is still really fast. Trying to get another batch done this month but material supply has been really bad! Thanks for the review and putting in the work out there cutting!

I went with the enduro engineering rack with a Stihl MS180. I went with that rack because I felt it was easier to install and remove based on what bike I want ride for the day or if I take the bike to an area that doesn’t have trees.
I modified the hold down strap. I felt the scabbard was proper for the various terrain I ride in for some bar protection.
I also found it easier to strap MSR fuel bottles on, for bar oil and saw fuel.

We use Enduro Engineering chainsaw mount and works extremely well!

On the Bill Dart rack, I easily adjusted the angle of the bar by making a pillow of folded inner tube and zip tied it down on the bed so it would equalize the height of the saw relative to its spikes. Nice review.

I just installed the Bill Dart rack last night.....what a PITA the lower bolts were to get installed with spacers, for 2014 ktm 300 xcw. I like the rack, it's minimalist and does the job.

I made my own rack if your interested I can share pictures. Is aluminum uses KTM mask rubbers, and Titan straps. I made to carry my RYOBI battery saw and spare battery. Looking forward to your content, I volunteer to clear dead fall in Michigan.

Justin, I have 3 racks. One is the original rack from IDPR that was used on the rear of the very first trail ranger bike.
Second rack is one I made to mount on the front of an XR250.
Third rack is a Bill Dart special that I mount on the front of my Husky TE300.
I have known and ocassionaly ridden with Bill since 1991. His rack is light and very nice.

I build my own racks with a light and cable guide ,bar wrench and file holder but comonly sell Bills racks as the price point is right and he understands that the weight needs to be as far back as posible unlike the ee rack witch holds the weight way out front . My rack never coms off its eather got a saw or a extra gallon of gas on it

Just my opinion. I’d say the bads as well about some of the saw mounts too. Definitely noticed some potential draw backs on one of those mounts.

Nice review, thanks for sharing. Personally I wouldnt run a saw on my bike, or carry and store a saw anywhere without a guard on the chain. A dirty chain is a dull chain, besides if you fall the potential of being stabbed by a bare chain isnt appealing to me.

I'm one of the few guys left riding Japanese. I'm wondering if anyone's modified a bill dart mount to fit a yz450fx? Or will the trailbound Mount to a yz? I love the bill dart model but it's limited to ktm's and husy's.. The enduro engineering mount is good but I'd like something less bulky and heavy. Thanks

I bet the Trailbound rack would work! I’ve seen them on quite a few different bikes, they are popular on snow-bikes as well for the lighter weight
