What an awesome idea! I just got a bike and so I've been exploring a lot of backwoods trails and fire roads around where I live. Any time a big windstorm comes through, those roads tend to get blocked by trees. I've been carrying around a folding hand saw and axe that I use when maintaining hiking trails, but some of these suckers that fall across these roads are HUGE. I've been trying to think of a convenient way to carry a chainsaw on my bike and lo and behold: you guys made this genius invention! Fits the bill perfectly. Now I can help keep the roads and trails clear for myself and others. Thanks!
For $200 you guys should provide a better blade guard this is flimsy and we have to pry and flare the plastic to make it fit ourselves? This was the best engineering idea?
That is always the downside, you are out clearing trails not really riding to ride your hardest but as you saw it's an easy thing to take off and put back on. What are you looking at 5 minutes? You probably could leave the brake line attachment off as there usually isn't any issue with those flapping around.
Some riders take one on the TID or other when early season deadfalls are prevalent. Lights are definitely needed for longer days, start in the dark, sometimes finish in the dark. Early season rides should include light options discussion, when nearly every ride encounters deadfall and days are shorter. Looking at bar mount lights.
@@meder07 could easily mount some 3 inch LED pod lights on the side of this mount. Also any trail riding I do in/near dark, I always wear a helmet mounted light.
