I had a Speed Triple S in 2018 , the only bike I ever regret selling. They are brilliant bikes. I will definitely own one again in the future (as a 2nd bike 😉). Great video Richy 👍
Brilliant! I did close my eyes! I will go out on my speedy today! I love my speedy it’s every thing I need, it will be with me until I shuffle off my mortal! The brakes squeal on mine too, as they did on my mates! Stripped , cleaned and they still do it!, even after new pads. The mess under the seat is down to after market indicators! Great vid/ tune! Keep up the good work pal! Out❤️
Great video as always but I had the smile when you stopped to appreciate the peaceful countryside and then commenced to rev the nuts off the bike in order to produce your “lullaby”, priceless.
Shame the fuel cap isn't keyless (same as my rocket 3). My BMW GS you don't need the key to open the cap as long as you spring it open within so many seconds, works a treat. That sounds epic though. Great vid once again, thanks. 😀👍
G day Richy, well thanks to you sir i have purchased a VFR 800 the harley is going as is the DR 650 so cheers to you and heres to some good riding. Glenn
I’m sold. My dream motorcycle is at hand. That Beautiful Machine is extraordinary. Triumph is knocking it out of the park. Let’s give a round of applause to Richy, for “not” showing us the speed she endeavors. 🎩-tip Sir....👍🏼 😎 🇺🇸 🌎
The sound of that triple engine is the only nourishment I would need. Would putting your mic in a back pack or under the pillion seat or rear jacket pocket be a solution? You'd hear the exhaust much more clearly.
Haha you'll end up buying that bike too. I love triples so much that until 2 yrs ago I'd had them for 20 years from the original 1994 triple. I love them so much I'm buying my last speed triple back as soon as travel restrictions allow. I have keyless on my bmw RS & love it. No faff. Put your hat & gloves on as you leave the cafe then just push the button & go. Winner winner 😀 great video & thanks for the lullaby's
Lovely sound & great to see your thoughts on the bike. I have a tyre repair kit that would fit perfectly in that little space under the rear seat. thanks for sharing, my Street Twin does that fuel thing too. Maybe about half a mile down the road the fuel gauge starts creeping up again. Its something to do with the sensor being a average of the tank not just a live-time feeder of precisely how much is in there per second
Great sounding bike! I had a new tiger 1200 couple of years ago and the fuel gauge was the same took ages, also never understood why they never did keyless fuel cap, ended up not getting on with it and now have a ktm1290 sas. Great watching your vids as always especially as your local to me so get to see familiar routes👍🏻 be great to meet up one day
A few years sgo I borrowed a Street Triple and was expecting to love it. It was fast, light and handled well. The soundtrack when on song was also brilliant but what it didn't do (compare to my old VFR750 ), it didn't have a relaxed mode. It was a bit like a Ferrari, at any revs at any speed the engine was always on edge. Great when you are in scratching mood but very tiring over longer distances. I will be interested to hear your longer term impressions on longer rides.
I rode a 2019 S1000R last year and sadly didn't get on with it. I was so looking forward to riding it. Perhaps my expectations were too high? It felt really porky compared to the 2018 Speed Triple RS and the riding position and buzz through the foot pegs and bars had me wanting to get off after 20 minutes. The STRS was way more comfortable to ride and chuck around. Although down on power it handled a lot better. Rode it for a full half day with no discomfort. Could have ridden it all day if I had been allowed.
@@alexmorgan3435 Yeah I can't deny the S1000 does tingle a tad! It's one of the things that spoiled the bike for me over time and I'm now selling it after about 16 months and getting a new R1250R.
Hi Richy, did you get special permission from pc plod to put the bike into the middle of the Road whilst taking your pictures? Good Video, been more enjoyable for you if you had your heated gloves and heated jacket on !
The Brembo Pads do this on Triumphs all squeal but the performance is far better. I wish the tank was keyless too. I liked this bike since the moment I cracked that responsive throttle but it quickly changed to love the moment I took the 2nd corner. I had to ride it on track while my track bike was being finished. It's amazing how this bike can run it no corners with superbikes and on corner exit util they start to make too much power. The Ohlins make the RS better than the SDR at least on track. Wonder if the 1200RS 1st edition will be as well sorted as the 2020 RS.
I’ve not rode the triumph. But being a Honda fan. Have you tried the CB1000r? I had one on loan whilst my AT was getting repaired. Fantastic bike. Sounds great with a decent exhaust. Although I must agree that triumph sounds real nice 🏍💨
Great video. I was shivering by the end. Is the 1050 being dropped with the 1200 coming out, or will they both be in the Triumph range? I’ve got a 2015 Speed which needs updating. Wonder if the 1200 will sound so good...
Chicken tikka chaat masala rezala is my favourite.. try saying that when your pissed 😂 great vid as usual pal.. is there really anything better than a great sound track of a motorbike 👍
2017 - 2020 Speed Triple RS is trounced by the SDR 2.0 and 3.0, as the Triumph just isn't quick enough. Still a fast bike but not as fast as it's rivals. But the 2021 Speed Triple RS ............... I dunno, it's got to be close. Maybe STRS would win by a nose. The new SDR 3.0 is very capable as is the 2.0. Shame Triumph have done away with the under seat twin Arrow cans. They could have kept them but gone full carbon or Ti. Like you I loved this gen of the STRS when I rode it 3 years ago now. The sound of the triple engine and exhaust with QS is sublime. And as you say it handles and stops beautifully. Lovely bike. I just want to ride the new one! It's supposed to put out 170+bhp and be 7 kg lighter. Yes ALL new bikes should be forced to have illuminated switch gear on the grounds of safety. As for keyless, no you can keep that. Much prefer to use a conventional key in an ignition. It can still be coded, immobiliser all that jazz.
The reason most of us don't like keyless is that when you're riding in your leathers and especially on track, you don't want a bulky key in your tiny tight pockets. It's uncomfortable and on track, it's dangerous. That, and that some bikes still requires you to have a key for the fuel tank and to get under the seat 💖💖👏🏼👏🏼. The Triple RS is one of my dream bikes. But i need something a bit more touring friendly. So i got the 2018 Z1000SX, aka the "Ninja 1000" (I also have a 1985 GPZ600R, but that's not a "tourer" Or "crazy riding" bike). I owned a 2019 MT-09 for a year. But that bike was horrible on the motorway and it was basically impossible not to ride it like a hooligan. But if i even get the luxury of two full price bikes, i'd love an RS as my hooligan bike.
Sounds great for sure and I am sure it rides great but for me personally I cannot get over the front view of the Triple RS with those floating headlights etc. The Trident 660 is more to my liking sorry to say.
Rode one, got to be honest, it didn’t really do much for me. Nice bike for sure tho, but I prefer the sound of a Tuono. I don’t think that model is a patch on the SDR; the 2021 might be a different story.
If you are going to compare it to the superduke rich I hope your comparing it to a 2020/21 model or it will obviously feel tight and new sorry Good video mate and I love the new speed but I’m a convert to the sd1290r now I’ve got one 😊👍🏼
My next bike I reckon. Although not the new one! As for curry. My go to is dhansak or an Afghani. I’m lucky enough to get free curry! So I get to try what ever I fancy.
Lamb pathia. sweet and sour curry. all triumphs when you fill up you have to travel a short distance before it registers according to the manual on my Tiger. yet the Harley is instant.
Does sound well looks well aswell its just the niggle little bits on triumphs like you said under the seat where the storage is a wiring loom there and fuel gauge takes a while to read once fuel has gone in the tank dont get me wrong looks well built i feel with all triumphs they could be a bit better fought out .
Can sympathise with you there Rich, I'm still having loads of audio issues with my Hero 9 too! That RS is mega though isn't it - LOVE it.
Oh my goodness does that bike sound Mega! That’s my kind of lullaby.
You have discovered the charisma of triumphs, I have owned four now, very addictive and fun to ride. Great vid Richy.

Can't beat an evening pootle.....especially with a soundtrack like that!! I'll take a Wednesday night run to Bala over a Sunday afternoon every time.
Love an evening ride.
I have this exact bike. The sound of the motor/exhaust is beautiful without being obnoxious. There is no need to change a thing.
I agree.
"Nakeds don't normally do it for me" I thought the same until I bought a Thruxton and it makes such a lovely drone type sound
Sounds so sweet. I feel like I’ve ridden every road in your county so beautiful

Seems funny when I watch your videos riding round where I live - I’m almost leaning for the upcoming bends 😂

Yeah. Very strange that it’s not keyless for all.

The green pump nozzle still freaks me out, here that is diesel! Lol
Haha yeah, remember it well!
I had a test ride on a 2019 Speed Triple RS and it was probably the best handling bike I've ever ridden - better than the S1000R I ended up buying!
Yeah, handling is one of the best I’ve ridden, too.
