Great ot hear from the northern side of HSR and the initial progress around connecting San Jose to Merced, as well as hear from the portal project in San Francisco.
Thank you for the board and people involved. That said, the woman giving the admonishment for public comments needs to do voice work. That was so clear and direct with kind inflection. Maybe for the next HSR status video?
The high speed rail is exciting 😄❤ to our state of California 🇺🇲 from San Francisco's station to Los Angeles station 2 hours of your trip I'm definitely ready to ride this fast train to all of the city and public ❤❤❤❤🎉 let's begin
The government knows it has launched a turkey, and is going as slow as possible in the hope that a sensible (Republican) government will shut it down. Then they can blame someone else.
They’re building as fast as they can with the funding they have available. If you want things to go faster, contact your state and federal representatives and advocate to get the project more funding. High speed rail is a better long term investment for California (and the US) than continuing to pour tens (if not several hundreds) of billions of dollars every year into expanding freeways. We’ve been doing that for decades and traffic will only continue to get worse in the long run, as has been proven by other freeway widening projects throughout the country over the years.
Hurry up and finish the what Californian paid for, Connect San Jose to Madera Ca already, there $350 million Casino is in the work and will finish two year from now. I move to Madera to start a new life because I believed in the Speed Train. It's not about my future but the future of my kids. I didn't like the bay area too crowded and sky high cost of living.
@@davidjackson7281it’ll be sooner than that. Late 2030s at the latest. Once the IOS opens between Merced and Bakersfield, there’ll be increased push to get it to SF, and LA.
An "overpass" for wildlife. A literal bridge over a "transportation corridor" that may SEEM "attractive" to wildlife because ROADKILL. But in reality animals in general and wild animals in particular would rather risk getting ran over crossing any artificial "obstacle" to their travel at "grade" that is good solid terra firma than set hoof on a "hollow" and "shaky" and "fenced" artificial crossing they know "instinctively" is not terra firma because it is not at "grade" and does not look, sound or feel like good solid earth.
Except that’s just not true. Wildlife crossings have been a proven effective method to sharply reduce the number of wildlife and vehicle collisions, that not only saves lives every year but also money. These crossings are built along known wildlife corridors, so animals instinctively learn to use the crossing.

"We are asking for more opportunity for community input" yeah okay lets just jack up the price and delay it further.

The progress on the project is so painfully slow. Each month l lose more and more confidence.
