U made the fact that I have to fix mine in the wind a rain while working on the road and have a 2 day time limit by my self to get this done a little better but not much lol thank u this helps so much
i just wanted to say these videos are well made funny and the baseball type music is the best
After installing aluminum and vinyl windows for 25 years I prefer to use a good quality polyurethane type caulk like quad over a roofing tape. This caulk is tough stuff, long lasting, paintable, won't collect dirt, but can be very messy to work with.
Edit: not "over" roofing tape, but "instead of".
Question. I need to replace the rubber (vinyl??) trim molding which goes all the around my RV ‘s side. I can’t locate a replacement product wide enough. 1 inch wide is all I can find. Any ideas?? Liked your video, music annoying but it’s your video. 😁

very helpful video, thanks! I am in the process of removing my roof trim and so many of the screws are just too stubborn, even with a drill driver. No screw head decapitiations, yet, just screws that won't budge. Any tips?
Last resort, drill off the heads so you can at least remove the trim. Can't do too many like that though

I would use a drift punch and hammer to tap on the head of the screw several times to help brake the bond between the screw and the wood. I sometimes use an air impactor or a battery powered device that rapidly impacts/vibrates the head of the screw and helps brake the bond, but not many people will have access to them. Use some valve lapping compound that you can get at an auto parts store and place it in the drive area of the head of the screw. This will greatly aid in the grip of the driver when twisting the screw out. If this fails, then use a vice-grip plyers locked onto the head and twist it to brake it loose. If, as a last resort, I have to use a drill, I use a left hand drill bit, which is rotated in the direction that removes the screw, will sometimes drive the screw out. I could get into screw extractors and other methods, as I have removed thousands of stuck fasteners, but this gets into complexity and experience that may not work for folks without this experience. However, one could do further research on these methods on the internet and learn to apply them if time and interest are there.

@@lloydhohman4678 This is great info. I am planning on tackling a New Roof install on my 1999 Fleetwood Tioga. Which will include remove of all the roof and corner trim pieces. I can imagine there will be MANY rusted and stripped out screws. I do have an impact driver with compressor and a decent set of Left Handed drill bits with extractors.
Where do you get the corner pieces for your Cardinal? Some of my corner pieces on the body by the slides are broken.

How about fiberglassing the corner pieces together so it permanent and waterproof.no tape ,no caulk, no trim pieces. Just one solid piece like a hull of a boat. Pros, cons?

How would you fix the siding if it had a rust hole or scrape?
A rust hole? I guess the best thing to do would be to take it off, clean it, sand it down or sandblast it, then use Bondo to fix the metal, then paint it and reinstall it, or just find a replacement part somewhere

Rv’s are built terrible, I bought single axle trailer and spent all my time fixing things that failed in the first year. These items should have never failed in the first year. Total junk.
