- Whichever way they turn, the rescuers find entangled animals - Six in this massive group alone, plus one previously rescued seal. Four out of the six seals had really severe entanglements with bad cuts. Marine animals are mutilated by marine litter each year. This is an issue we will continue to address. This has to STOP!

That first entanglement was horrible!😢 At first I thought there was something red around the seal's neck, but then I saw that awful wound. The poor pup was so confused when he came out of the net, but now he'll live. Thanks, Roman and Antoine!👏

Saving this many seals from torture is amazing. I have stopped buying any clothing that's made out of polyester / plastics.
Plant fibres are just as destructive. The issue is our ingenuity in weaving/knitting the fibres to create fabric with much more durable qualities. I‘d recommend cutting old clothes into flat planes, aka destroying the holes we so often see. Unless you’re donating them, of course.
There’s no solution we as consumers can bring about, the pollution is a systemic issue. Just go by what you can afford, and don’t blame yourself if you have no choice but to take the cheapest option. The important part is „no choice“, because that’s the system I‘m talking about…
There are so many seals at this location with deep cuts. Maybe the seals got caught up in a large area of trash. I'm glad you guys were able to save these seals. ❤
Naude broke the Cling Wrap on seal #6 with his bare hands--but it was strong enough to eventually unalive the seal if not removed. Thanks, Naude!🦭♻️
It breaks my heart that even when you run into a group "blind" without seeing any targets ahead of time, you know you'll find some in there anyway. That's how pervasive and severe this problem is.
Oooh, some really severe wounds there. I'm always in awe of Denzil's speed and determination, seems like no seal is able to out-run him.

I thought the first seal was being strangled by something red, but then I realized it was a horrific wound. SO glad that the team caught and removed so many entanglements, but SO depressing that there were THAT many to remove. Thanks, OCN, for being there and protecting these precious creatures 💙

This is a skill we wish we never had to develop, but we are unfortunately very experienced by now.
The torture and damage we inflict on these innocent seals through our indiscriminate dumping is horrendous.
It's amazing to see so many lives saved by Team OCN in a matter of minutes but a nightmare that there is such a need for these rescues.
Poor seal #2! I couldn't believe how long that piece of recreational fishing line was that Roman was pulling out of his neck! That thin line cuts so quickly and so deeply and causes such serious wounds! Thanks for removing it!🙏

I knew after yesterdays double rescue that there would be more in that group that needed help. Talk about mass chaos and so many that needed help! If it weren't OCN's experience, and skill set, these that were saved would have not made it much longer. THANK YOU TEAM OCN for saving these 6 pups! Now go heal and get strong little ones!

The goal of these videos is to show the consequences of this pollution and create a change to tackle its roots - namely our addiction to single-use plastics, the lack of law enforcement at sea, and the shortcomings of the recycling industry.
This was one of the "worst" outings yet, almost all of them had wounds. I give monthly to these wonderful people, as they are certainly doing God's work.

A lot of seals are in trouble, and in very serious trouble.
I watched almost all the videos on the channel, but still, when I see the seal’s wound, my heart sank. Why is the world reacting so slowly to the fact that the oceans and life in them are being destroyed by the criminal throwing of garbage overboard and not only from ships, but people on land also do not spare the ocean..
These 6 seals from the video were lucky, they were caught by rescuers and given a chance for a future life. Thanks team!

К сожалению, мы не решаем проблему, а лишь лечим симптомы пластикового кризиса с помощью наших спасательных средств. Цель этих видеороликов - показать последствия этого загрязнения и создать изменения для устранения его корней, а именно нашей зависимости от одноразового пластика, отсутствия правоохранительных органов на море и недостатков индустрии переработки.
Ну хотя бы так вы помогаете природе. Это как доктора лечат людей, и жизнь продолжается. Энергетика вашего труда привлекает всё больше людей в защиту природы. Я стараюсь как можно меньше использовать пластика и думаю что другие люди после ваших роликов тоже делают свой выбор. Вы герои! И огромное человеческое спасибо вам за участие в спасении природы
Even if you can't be saving seals, pick up litter everywhere you can. Litter is deadly in wildlife.

From the thumbnail, I thought one seal was entangled in a sort of braided dog collar only to realise, viewing the video, that it was actually exposed flesh and blood. So sad. He must have suffered so. Many terrible wounds on this day. Thank you OCN for saving so many and doing it with care and gentleness.
That would have been 6 dead seals if it wasn’t for OCN. That was really heartbreaking, so much unnecessary pain. When are we as supposedly intelligent humans going to respect our planet. Thank you OCN you are true humanitarians cause you lead by example.
