@@BriksTravelGuides yes most in depth Puerto Rico travel info I’ve seen !!! Puerto Rico is world class in beauty went there 7 years ago I’m going again in November ! Ty for the answer keep up good work !
Great hob! I grew up going to Las pailas and the forests and ceeeks were ny playgrounds. I never saw a snake all my years. Is it true that now snakes and gators or crocs avound? If you coud do a piece on that please. You channel is great.
Hey Luis!! Thank you!! You might see snakes, but they’re native to PR and most of them are relatively small. As for gators and caymans, that has been a problem for a while. Every so often you see news of authorities capturing one, but they’re often in the same areas. Luckily, generally not at rivers people frequent for swimming.
Thanks for sharing. I’m visiting Puerto Rico next month. My daughter wanted to do the rainforest waterfall tour. Can we access La Pailas without purchasing a park entrance pass? Thanks in advance. Hopefully we can book your services❤
Hey! Yes you can! Las paylas is outside of the recreational area managed by the forest service so you won’t have to reserve beforehand to visit it. However, you’ll likely need to pay to park in front of a locals house or even inside their house. Hope that helps! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷
Thank you for the great video, it helps so much! I was just wondering if you could give a rough outline on how much parking at the more expensive lot for las tinajas costs?
Hey!! Thank you!! Glad it help you out!! Honestly, I’m not quite sure, but I would bring maybe $20 in cash just in case. I highly doubt it would be $20. Maybe $10 max, and I’d say that’s a stretch, but I’m honestly not sure. 😅
Before the internet "opened up" Puerto Rico to everybody, different areas had "their" little river swimming area. In the 70s as a kid, Puente Roto was that spot for us, when we would go to visit family in Rio Grande.
Thanks for these videos! Can you make a video about how to get to Flamenco beach? I am visiting in a few months and never made it to Culebra. This time I really want to go! :)
Hey there! Thank you so much for watching! I’m glad you liked it! For sure I need to get myself to both Vieques and Culebra. There is a lot of confusion on how to get to these islands so I’d be glad to make a video that clears it up. Hopefully soon, before your trip! Thanks for the recommendation!
Good video. We’re going the first week of Jan 2022. Are the trails and waterfalls in el yunque open? On the west side is survivor beach hike worth it? Thanks for sharing
Hey! There are some trails that are open and some that are closed. Your best bet for up to date info on the trails is the US Forest Service - El Yunque Facebook page or their website. The Juan Diego Trail that I talk about on this video is open, and the other spots are outside of the main visitor area so they are likely open as well. I’ve never been to Survivor Beach, but I’ve been told it is beautiful! However, you need to check if the tide is high because if it is, you might not be able to do the complete hike.
is it better to go with a travel guide, or are the trails suitable for a beginner? i'm in good shape, just concerned about finding my way. also with parking do you just leave the car on the side of road next to trail head or will there always be paid parking?
I would say they are all easy to get to except Las Tinajas if you walk up river from the first parking you see on the street. There’s a parking at the very end of the street that has a easy trail to the riverbed.
Hey Swaizy! Yes, you’d still need to get tickets to visit the main area of el Yunque where you can get to the very top. The only river on this list you do need tickets for is the Juan Diego Falls, the rest you can visit without tickets.
Hi Cathy! Thank you so much for commenting! You would just need to reserve on the website recreation.gov for the Juan Diego Trail waterfall since it is located inside El Yunque's main visitor area. All others are outside of this area so you can go at any time, though you might need the permission of land owners to access trails such for Las Paylas. Hope that helps!
Thanks so much for this video! So informative and helpful! Should I visit Puente Roto first, and then Angelito's trail? (also, where does Juan Diego's creek fall between these two places?)
Hi Melissa! Thank you for the support! Yes, you could visit both. Puente Roto is extremely easy to get to so if you want to move to Angelito's Trail you'll be able to do it really quickly. Juan Diego is located within the main visitor area of el Yunque. To visit it you'll need to get a ticket on their website. It's about 19 minutes away from Puente Roto whereas Puente Roto is only about 2 minutes away from Angelito's Trail. Hope that helps!
Hey Ashley!! That’s amazing!! At the moment I’m not offering tours in person, but I can definitely connect you with knowledgeable tour guides who are! Let me know! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷
i remeber going to PR in 1996 and my uncke to ok us to a cave. he calle dit the bat cave, but i dont recall where it is. hubby and i are planning on going in February 2022
That's amazing! I hope you'll be able to visit many great places during your visit! Try visiting the Cavernas del Rio Camuy which reopened recently. I made a video of everything you should expect from your visit. To book a tour with them, you can try to call the numbers in the description, but honestly they're short staffed so your best bet if that doesn't work is to just shop up to the park and hope they give you a tour. Not ideal, but worth it if you have the time.
Hey Captain! Honestly, I’m not sure about those specific species, but I do know that people do fish a lot in the lagoons, rivers and oceanfronts around the island. You might see them with their fishing rods on the roadside near the beach. Hope that helps a bit! Thanks for leaving a comment! 😄🙏🏼🇵🇷
I would say Puente Roto near El Yunque. It’s right next to the road. These bodies of water generally are not adapted for people with mobility issues just because that would mean developing infrastructure that would alter nature, unfortunately.
THANKS SO MUCH FOR MAKING THESE VIDEOS! Las Tinajas is one of the spots im going on my trip. Its the last week of August that we will be there. Does it start to rain during that time?
Hi Erika! Thank you so much for your comment and support! It really does depend. In general it always rains a bit since Las Tinajas is close to El Yunque which is a rainforest. If I were you I'd download a satellite weather app like MyRadar to check the weather on the days before and on the day you plan to go to Las Tinajas. If it's raining, I wouldn't go since it can be dangerous. Hope that helps! Be safe and enjoy Puerto Rico!
@@BriksTravelGuides thank you. I’ll go download that app now! Does it get really warm temprano en la mañana? I’m planning las tinajas before medio día because we’re catching the ferry to culebra around 12. Is that a good idea.
@@erikaamort2302 I haven’t taken the ferry to Culebra in a whole, but I think it would be a good idea to be early at the port just in case any situation arises. Personally I would do it on separate days.
It’s true but you wont have much of a problem to get in if you go during low season. We’ll see how it moves along once high season kicks in. The trail to get to Mt. Britton is almost at the end of the road in the main recreational area. Juan Diego is almost in the beginning.
Coming to Puerto Rico in a couple weeks: do you need to rent a 4x4 to get around the island? We are staying three nights at the Hyatt regency, then Rincon, then Laga Guajataca? Thanks!
Hey Chad! A 4x4 is not completely necessary. I have a hatchback sedan which has managed to go everywhere on my videos haha however, an SUV would be better to avoid any potholes (which there are many) on the streets. Hope that helps! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷
Do you need tickets for the Visitor Center as well? Where and when do I purchase those, aside from the vehicle entry ticket? I am going to PR in a month!
Hey Xavier! You don’t need tickets to visit the Visitor Center! Though there is an admission fee which you pay in the entrance. Hope you enjoy your visit to Puerto Rico! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷
Oh wow! Yeah, a lot of people get lost in El Yunque, specifically if they venture to the Naguabo side of El Yunque which doesn't have rangers monitoring the access. A lot of people get lost or injured when visiting the Infinity Pool de Naguabo, which is a challenging 3 hour hike just one way, and most people don't go adequately prepared for that.
Hey David! You can send me a message to brikguardado@gmail.com with all the details regarding your interest and I’ll be happy to answer your questions!
Didn’t include El Hippie since it’s a bit further away than the rest of the spots and El Mango is in Adjuntas which is very far away from El Yunque haha
Hey Kelly! If you want to stay close to San Juan and see sea turtles you should go to the Escambron Beach. There are several turtles that swim around that area. If you’re looking to go further, check out Peña Blanca Beach in Aguadilla. There is amazing snorkeling there!
Yes!! Definitely on the top of my list of videos to make! Based on the popularity of the Vieques video, I’m sure a lot of people will appreciate one of Culebra 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷

Thank you so much! We’re taking the kids (8 & 10) in July! Any recommendations on which river or hike is best for kids???
Hey Swaizy! If you’re looking for places near El Yunque I would definitely try Angelito’s Trail! It’s a nice place with calm waters.
@@BriksTravelGuides thank you. Do we still buy tix for el yunque to go there or any of the trails?
Hey Swaizy! Yes, you’d still need to get tickets to visit the main area of el Yunque where you can get to the very top. The only river on this list you do need tickets for is the Juan Diego Falls, the rest you can visit without tickets.
This is great! Thank you Brik! Do we need to reserve for all five spots you mentioned in this video? Or just the first one.
@@BriksTravelGuides thank you!!
Happy to help! 😄🙌🏼🙏🏼🇵🇷
Hope that helps!
going in February, the week of the 20th can you please be our tour guide ?! lol
I love uuu
Hahaha Made my day, Jack 😂😂😂🙌🏼
Are there peacock bass or largemouth bass in those rivers and ponds? Fishing minds (me) would love to know.
Pools, ponds, and waterfalls for people with mobility issues
Personally I would do it on separate days.
is it true now its a first come first serve into the entrance ? and what part would mount Britton and Juan Diego trail be at ?
It’s true but you wont have much of a problem to get in if you go during low season. We’ll see how it moves along once high season kicks in. The trail to get to Mt. Britton is almost at the end of the road in the main recreational area. Juan Diego is almost in the beginning.
@@BriksTravelGuidesI’m going there Nov 10th! Will be my first time visiting PR. Are many of the “temporarily closed” trails still closed?
Coming to Puerto Rico in a couple weeks: do you need to rent a 4x4 to get around the island?
We are staying three nights at the Hyatt regency, then Rincon, then Laga Guajataca?
Thanks!
Hey Chad! A 4x4 is not completely necessary. I have a hatchback sedan which has managed to go everywhere on my videos haha however, an SUV would be better to avoid any potholes (which there are many) on the streets. Hope that helps! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷
@@BriksTravelGuides 👍👍👍thank you, much appreciated!
Happy to help! 😄🙌🏼
Thank you!
Happy to help! 😄🙌🏼
Hi, since this video is 3 years old…are these places still accessible to the public?
Hey! As far as I’m concerned, yes, all of these places are currently open. Thanks for leaving a comment! 😄🙏🏼🇵🇷
You think it’s be okay to go to all these during December?
Hey Neo!! Yes! December should be a great time to visit. Just make sure it doesn’t rain on the day you’re planning to go. Hope you have fun! 😄🇵🇷
what is the R ea?
🇵🇷🇺🇲 USA 🇵🇷🇺🇲
My uncle used to be called to locate people who use to get lost en el Yunque.
Do you provide guide options?
Hey David! You can send me a message to brikguardado@gmail.com with all the details regarding your interest and I’ll be happy to answer your questions!
Off the beaten path waterfalls -- Mango and Charco El Hippie
Didn’t include El Hippie since it’s a bit further away than the rest of the spots and El Mango is in Adjuntas which is very far away from El Yunque haha
July 2021 we are looking for Sea Turtles. If there is a pretty good place to see them I'd love to know about it!
Hey Kelly! If you want to stay close to San Juan and see sea turtles you should go to the Escambron Beach. There are several turtles that swim around that area. If you’re looking to go further, check out Peña Blanca Beach in Aguadilla. There is amazing snorkeling there!
@@BriksTravelGuides AWESOME! We were already planning on Peña Blanca, just because I heard it has a beautiful opportunity for snorkeling!
Yesss!! For sure check it out! 🙌🏼🇵🇷
@@BriksTravelGuides thanks for sharing the turtle info! Mi amigo los quiere ver!!!
Do a video on culebrita
Yes!! Definitely on the top of my list of videos to make! Based on the popularity of the Vieques video, I’m sure a lot of people will appreciate one of Culebra 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷
💓💞
Gracias prima!! 😄🙏🏼🙌🏼
Do i need a ticket Reservation into the rain forrest to visit spot number 4 and 5
Hey! You don’t! Only for the Juan Diego Falls! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷
Chek out Charco El Hippie
Hey! Yes! I wanted to include it but it’s a bit further away from the main area of El Yunque, but it’s a great spot! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷
Find the camera and LOOK into it
Camuy caves
I have a travel guide about that on my channel! 😄🙌🏼🇵🇷
Sign language.
I wish I had the resources to include it on my videos 🥲
If you pack it in, PACK IT OUT! This includes your human waste and your CIGARETTE BUTTS!!!
Keep El Yunque Beautiful for future visitors. Gracias!
YES!! PLEASE!! Thank you for reinforcing it! 🙏🏼💪🏼🇵🇷🌿
Needs to rain. Too dry.
This week it rained pretty heavily! Hopefully that replenished all the rivers. 🙏🏼🙌🏼🍃
